World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. This bonus could be more than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times because it's an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. This will reroll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you'll receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a handful of friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five different types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust the potions.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned through crafting them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. item upgrading will open a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the liquid and refills the bottle.
There are also lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential as a trinket. In some cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as older one, and come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
When the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
