Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, also known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.
Players can recycle six items at once to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through various methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.
There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available in all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Upgrade components are the most common method of upgrading equipment. These are items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be used in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools and offer various bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you do not have enough of or.
The upper-right corner shows the amount of upgrade components needed for an item. The price of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increases. However you can cut down on this cost by purchasing upgrades from a merchant, or trading them with other players.
item upgrading can be upgraded using an upgrade to a prefix for example, an insignia or a rune, and many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to convey information via visuals. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also improve the recall of the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph comes with a range of values it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This range is the maximum value that a glyph can improve a stat by, not the amount that it will actually increase it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are in awe of it.
The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you wish to remove the glyph from an item you must salvage it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered with the glyph shards.
A glyph added to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to add a bonus. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at one time. This can be helpful for players who take lots of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment, and can be found in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a new random affix, which is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded for better damage or perks.
Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade options, but they are still able to be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the items that have been rerolled. This will alter the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls are based on a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.
Rerolling is a fantastic way to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final level. This reduction effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items that do not have any other options for raising ilvls.
The Reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it using money or a food item that would allow them to change their build without wasting time and effort. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In the majority of cases the chance of a better roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also possibilities for greater or special rolls. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an extraordinary type it could gain an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading gear from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the number of levels to upgrade. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item will reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will give you a substantial increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, though. In general the effect of upgrading is increased by a number of +3.
Depending on the item's base level and upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to a rare or exceptional item is likely to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the new base item type.
