Don't Make This Mistake With Your Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through various methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
