In recent years, a number of case-control studies have focused on the association between the
g.168_185del polymorphism and the risk of Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the results have been conflicting. To estimate the relationship between the
g.168_185del polymorphism and PD susceptibility, a comprehensive meta-analysis was performed.

Eligible studies concerning the
g.168_185del polymorphism and PD susceptibility were searched for in the PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Wanfang, CNKI, and VIP databases. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were calculated to estimate the strength of the associations. In total, 11 studies were included in this meta-analysis, including 13 case-control studies with 2890 cases and 3043 controls.

This meta-analysis revealed that
g.168_185del variants are associated with PD susceptibility in the non-Asian population, but not in the Asian population.

An accurate estimated fetal weight (EFW) calculated with traditional formulae in cases of abdominal wall defects (AWDs) can be challenging. As a result of reduced abdominal circumference, fetal weight may be underestimated, which could affect prenatal management. Siemer etal. proposed a formula without the use of abdominal circumference, but it is not used in our protocols yet.

Our aim was to evaluate the correlation of EFW and birth weight in fetuses with AWD by using Hadlock 1, Hadlock 2, and Siemer etal.'s formulae. Our secondary goal was to evaluate how often fetuses classified as small for gestational age (SGA) were in fact SGA at birth.

This was a retrospective cohort study of gestations complicated by gastroschisis and omphalocele at two tertiary-care centers in Brazil and Italy during an 8-year period. Of a total of 114 cases, 85 (44 cases of gastroschisis and 41 cases of omphalocele) met our criteria.

The last prenatal scan was performed 5.2 (±4.1) days before birth. The mean gestational age at birth was 37.2 (±1.8) weeks. Correlation of EFW with birth weight was calculated with the three formulae with and without adjustment for weight gain between scan and birth, with the use of the Spearman coefficient. The correlation between EFW and weight at birth was positive according to all three formulae for the infants with gastroschisis. This finding was not confirmed in the infants with omphalocele. All formulae overestimated the number of SGA cases although only 17.6% of fetuses were actually SGA at birth, the Hadlock formulae had classified nearly 35% of them as SGA, and Siemer etal.'s formula, 15.3%.

This study is based on media reports, and all data were obtained from the media. All data were presented in frequency and percentage. The unintentional fatal child drowning rates in Turkey were 1.16; 1.80 for males and 0.48 for females per 100,000 children, which means males drowned nearly four times more than females. In terms of season, the highest rate of unintentional fatal drowning was in summer (0.69 per 100,000 children), and the lowest rate in winter (0.05 per 100,000 children). The unintentional fatal drowning rate decreased after reaching a peak in 2010 (1.52 per 100,000 children). As of 2015, the rate of unintentional fatal drowning decreased every year and reached a minimum in 2017 (0.66 per 100,000 children). Even if the mortality rate in children has decreased in recent years, more measures are still needed to prevent drowning in children.Aim Advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a lethal disease with poor response to conventional chemotherapy. Immunotherapy showed better activity than chemotherapy in late-line treatment. However, the rate and duration of response are far from satisfactory. The efficacy of an anti-angiogenic agent combined with immunotherapy for ESCC is unknown. Results A patient with ESCC experienced disease relapse after chemo-radiotherapy. The disease progressed after combined chemotherapy. A combination regimen of the PD-1 inhibitor camrelizumab and the anti-angiogenic agent apatinib was administered. The patient achieved a PET/CT-confirmed durable complete response with mild toxicity. Conclusion The PD-1 inhibitor combined with the anti-angiogenic agent is effective and safe for the treatment of ESCC. This regimen is worth investigation in clinical trials.
Inadequate maternal dietary pattern has been associated to negative pregnancy and fetal outcomes. With this study, we aimed to evaluate the adequacy of diet in pregnant women that delivered prematurely and its possible correlations with bone status of preterm newborns.

We prospectively enrolled women who delivered prematurely (≤than 34 gestational weeks) and their newborns (Neonatal Intensive Care, University Hospital of Padova) from January 2017 to May 2018. Maternal nutritional status and diet supplementations were assessed using a validated questionnaire. The preterm newborns were evaluated with anthropometric measurements and bone status by Quantitative Ultrasound of the second metacarpal bone within 72 h from birth.

One hundred and eighty mothers and 202 preterm newborns were evaluated. The mothers assumed more calories, proteins, total lipids and simple sugars compared to the revised National Guidelines. The intake of calcium, phosphorus and Vitamin D was inadequate despite the use of multivitamin supplements.
