14 Misconceptions Common To Item Upgrades
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.

Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stat and can give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for casting builds.

Armour

Link's armor is an essential element in keeping him safe from danger. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, you can improve its defence capabilities in various ways.

Armour is designed to shield animals and people from harm or injury from direct physical attack or a variety of environmental or activity hazards. Historically, item upgrades of armour was made of leather or fabric, but metal protections were also used particularly for military purposes such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.

Like weapons, there are a number of ways that armor can be upgraded but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct level of upgrade and more protection levels requiring more rupees and materials.

The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades which means that after they've been put in place, they can't be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is essential to only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your gear and that you have the necessary materials to complete the upgrade.

You can find the upgrades you require in a variety of places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are usually marked with an gold circle or blue triangle symbol and are available in large numbers as you progress through the game. They could appear randomly, but there is a possibility that obtaining certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.

It is important to remember that even though the amount provided by each upgrade may vary but it will always be more than zero. This is because a complete set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all forms of attacks, excluding magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.

Weapons

You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your specific build and even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types and more aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon you'll require an upgrade component ready as well as the item itself. The weapon should also be at a certain level for the upgrade to be effective and most weapons only accept one upgrade at a time.

Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. The upgrade components themselves are made up of components that can be incorporated into weapons, armor trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or other effect when they are in use. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.

The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used for enhancing the base stats of a weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. These upgrades can be purchased from enemies in the open world or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.

Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then upgrade those that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your shoulders, chest hands, feet, and hands in case you intend to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on your playstyle, some specific items are more useful than others. Armour is the same, with certain reforges better than others.

Magic Items

A character can only upgrade one item of magic at one time. If an upgrade project is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the amount of gold they normally cost to make or purchase, but they can also have extra advantages.

A magical item could be any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that are also shields, armor as well as cloaks, potions rings, scrolls and other objects. Some of these items may be made to speak.

The majority of magic items can be upgraded so that they are equipped with additional capabilities. This makes them more useful to players, or could help them conquer an especially difficult challenge. An infused weapon might provide an additional amount of damage to a specific enemy type, for example. This is particularly beneficial for characters who have reached a point at which they are likely to encounter the same kind of monster repeatedly in dungeons.

An infused ring might confer the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee fighters or any other character who wishes to avoid the cost and hassle of purchasing an armor.

Some enchanted objects have special powers that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their class list. This is useful for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points expended.

Other objects that are enchanted can allow the player's appearance to be changed, or they could even create a new appearance. These are particularly beneficial for characters who have had to leave their home, or are in a location where they might not be welcome. A magical item may give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone, except for the chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are equipment that do not fit into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, in contrast to weapons or armor. The majority of utility items have an effect that a player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that are activated when the user presses a button or activates an ability.

The most popular kind of utilitarian item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving, and the Jetpack, which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can create instantly a variety of utilitarian items, whereas others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.

Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the ones that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.

The majority of utility items boost an individual combat ability or provide the player with some kind of advantage when it comes to navigation. For example, Sharpening stones created by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power as well as Maintenance Oils created by the Huntsman improve Concentration and Healing Power. Other utility items such as Writs or Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be used to give the player either a boost in damage or condition damage.

All XCOM soldiers can equip a useful item at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot can be obtained by acquiring certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is placed in the main slot for grenades.
