The statistics of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the power of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished by a number of means such as using upgrade components and increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their value.

Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Upgrade components are the primary method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The only exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and spark curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by a certain amount. item upgrades is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by and not the amount it will actually increase it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item that you are enchanting.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.

When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who are taking many hits from enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon by the number of rerolls used to raise it to its final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective on ring items and Diadems that don't have other options for raising ilvls.

Some players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items which would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to spend too much time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning add an ability to change races in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This boosts the upgrade value for the stat. The second option is to boost the effect of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.

It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special item type, it has a chance of receiving a higher level.
