Three Greatest Moments In Item Upgrade History
Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged, which could increase their stats.

Upgradeable items are available throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.

There are several types of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be put in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools and provide numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, click it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, as well as any materials or components required. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for an item. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increases. However, you can reduce the cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They move to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them even more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph has a set of values it can improve a stat by according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the exact amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you are enchanting it to.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards that are part of the glyph will vanish. You can also apply the glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is helpful for those who take a lot of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment and can be found through a variety of methods, including in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix that is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for item upgrade s, but they are still able to be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button" you can recycle these rerolled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl is reduced by the number that it took to reroll it to the final level. This reduction effect is most effective with Diadems and rings that don't have competing ilvl-raising options.

Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. However, paid rerolls are not something that the developers would like to implement at this time in the game's development. Instead, they're planning include an option to change the race in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The second is to boost the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item will keep its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a more or unique roll may occur. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and should you upgrade a rare or unique item to an exceptional item type, it has a chance to achieve an iLevel that is higher.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to legendary. The cost will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.

The iLevel also changes according to the upgrade path and its base level. For instance an item upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
