The addition of hydrochar and biogas slurry reflux can significantly increase the species abundance of Methanobacterium. These results indicate that the addition of hydrochar and biogas slurry reflux can improve the corresponding microbial abundance, in which hydrochar can enhance the redox characteristics and DIET between microorganism, biogas slurry reflux can also increase nutrient content of anaerobic digestion system, and collectively promote the methane yield. In the present study, ferric oxide nanoparticles impregnated with activated carbon from Ulva prolifera biomass (UPAC-Fe2O3) were prepared and employed to remove 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) by adsorption. The UPAC-Fe2O3 nanocomposite was characterized for its structural and functional properties by a variety of techniques. The nanocomposite had a jagged, irregular surface with pores due to uneven scattering of Fe2O3 nanoparticles, whereas elemental analysis portrayed the incidence of carbon, oxygen, and iron. XRD analysis established the crystalline and amorphous planes corresponding to the iron oxide and carbon phase respectively. FT-IR analyzed the functional groups that confirmed the integration of Fe2O3 nanoparticles onto nanocomposite surfaces. VSM and XPS studies uncovered the superparamagnetic nature and presence of carbon and Fe2O3, respectively, in the UPAC-Fe2O3 nanocomposite. While the surface area was 292.51 m2/g, the size and volume of the pores were at 2.61 nm and 0.1906 cm3/g, respectively, indicating the mesoporous nature and suitability of the nanocomposites that could be used as adsorbents. Adsorptive removal of 2,4-D by nanocomposite for variations in process parameters like pH, dosage, agitation speed, adsorption time, and 2,4-D concentration was studied. The adsorption of 2,4-D by UPAC-Fe2O3 nanocomposite was monolayer chemisorption owing to Langmuir isotherm behavior along with a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacity and second order rate constant values were 60.61 mg/g and 0.0405 g/mg min respectively. Thermodynamic analysis revealed the spontaneous and feasible endothermic adsorption process. These findings confirm the suitability of the synthesized UPAC-Fe2O3 nanocomposite to be used as an adsorbent for toxic herbicide waste streams.Cancer is a debilitating and deadly disease caused by the uncontrolled growth of aberrant cell populations. This disease cannot always be controlled with traditional therapies and medicines. Different medicines are being used for this purpose, however these medicines have their side effects and are harmful to healthy cells. A better way to cure cancer disease is by limiting the agglomeration of cancer cells, minimizing their growth and their population by destroying these harmful cells. This could be achieved by controlling the function of mitochondria and DNA in cancer cells with the use of biocompatible materials with tuneable physical properties. Accordingly, research is ongoing as to the use of nanomaterials and nanotechnology in medicine. Zinc oxide semiconductor nanoparticles have displayed good anticancer behaviour. They have unique properties such as biocompatibility, good stability, and are environmentally friendly. Owing to these characteristics, they are focused on biological applications such as d structure of ZnO NPs remains the same with composites of TiO2 NPs, but the band gap of the composite was intermediate for individual samples. It also showed that the anticancer activity of composites was also less than pure ZnO NPs which is due to the reduction of ROS generation. This is observed that nanocomposites of ZnO and TiO2 could be effective in the development of a treatment of human liver cancer cells. We collected total suspended particulate (TSP) samples from January 2010 to December 2010 at Sapporo deciduous forest to understand the oxidation processes of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs). The gas chromatography-mass spectrometric technique was applied to determine biogenic secondary organic aerosols (BSOAs) in the TSP samples. We found the predominance of the isoprene SOA (iSOA) tracers (20.6 ng m-3) followed by α/β-pinene SOA (pSOA) tracers (8.25 ng m-3) and β-caryophyllene SOA (cSOA) tracer (1.53 ng m-3) in the forest aerosols. The results showed large isoprene fluxes and relatively high levels of oxidants in the forest atmosphere. The iSOA and pSOA tracers showed a clear seasonal trend with summer and autumn maxima and winter and spring minima. Their seasonal trends were mainly controlled by BVOCs emission from the local broadleaf deciduous forest. Additionally, the regional level of isoprene emissions from the oceanic sources may also be contributed during summertime aerosols. cSOA tracer orests are mostly related to isoprene emissions. This study suggests that isoprene is a more significant precursor for the BSOA than α/β-pinene and β-caryophyllene in a broadleaf deciduous forest. The recent upsurge in the studies on micro/nano plastics and antimicrobial resistance genes has proven their deleterious effects on the environmental and human health. Till-date, there is a scarcity of studies on the interactions of these two factors and their combined influence. The interaction of microplastics has led to the formation of new plastics namely plastiglomerates, pyroplastics. and anthropoquinas. It has long been ignored that the occurrence of microplastics has become a breeding ground for the emergence of antimicrobial resistance genes. Evidently microplastics are also associated with the occurrence of other pollutants such as polyaromatic hydrocarbons and pesticides. The increased use of antibiotics (after Covid breakout) has further elevated the detrimental effects on human health. Therefore, this study highlights the relation of microplastics with antibiotic resistance generation. The factors such as uncontrolled use of antibiotics and negligent plastic consumption has been evaluated. Furthermore, the future research prospective was provided that can be helpful in correctly identifying the seriousness of the environmental occurrence of these pollutants. To prevent the scale formation in the equipments and pipelines after pre-treated coal gasification gray water (CGGW) entering the reuse system and reduce the influence of various pollutants in the effluent on subsequent biochemical treatment, this study presented a coupled use of pulse electrocoagulation (PEC) and chemical precipitation (CP) coupling method for the pretreatment of coal gasification gray water (CGGW). In addition, the operation parameters of PEC and the reaction conditions of PEC-CP were optimized based on iron plate as electrode and total hardness, turbidity and sludge yield as assessment indicators. Due to the formation of multi-hydroxyl iron by several minutes of pulse current, and the addition of pH regulator and coagulant aid, the efficient removal of various ions, hardness and turbidity was significantly reduced via various mechanism such as redox, precipitation, adsorption and coagulation reaction. The result indicated that under the optimal operation conditions, the total hardness, turbidity, and Fen+ of PEC-CP effluents were 275.0 mg/L, 3.0 NTU and 5.6 mg/L, respectively and sludge amount was 0.88 kg/m3. The removal rates of Si, B, Mn, Ba, COD, NPOC and NH4+-N by PEC-CP reached 80.0%, 75.4%, 97.0%, 99.8%, 35.0%, 33.6% and 23.8%, respectively. The present results suggested that the CGGW pretreatment effluents could be not only reused directly, but also greatly alleviate the scaling problem of water pipeline and coal gasification production facilities. In the present paper, synthesis of SBA-15 nanoparticles was carried out from tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) precursor using the sol-gel process. After being combined with Poly propylene imine, and ZIF-8 they were employed for the removal of Penicillin G. The synthesized combination morphology was assessed using nitrogen adsorption and desorption (BET), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The parameters affecting Penicillin G removal, including pH, amount of adsorbent, time of contact, temperature, and concentration, were optimized, and the optimum levels of the mentioned variables were reported to be pH = 3, 0.03 g, 90 min, 25 °C, and 100 ppm, respectively. see more In addition, application of Freundlich, Langmuir, Dubinin-Radushkevhch, and Tempkin models and pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order adsorption synthetic equations aimed at determining the type of adsorbent isotherm. The results showed that the best fitting of Langmuir (R2 = 0.9944, qm = 400 mg/g) for adsorption isotherm and pseudo-second-order model (R2 = 0.9905) for kinetics studies. Furthermore, data of Gibbs free energy and enthalpy demonstrated an exothermic and spontaneous process in the research. The current work aims to advance the hydrophilicity, morphology, and antifouling characteristics of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membranes for oily wastewater separation by incorporating modified bentonite. The surface of bentonite nanoparticles is altered by adopting the "grafting from" method using the surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) approach. The PVC-based membrane is first prepared by blending acrylamide grafted bentonite (AAm-g-bentonite). AAm is grafted on bentonite in the presence of 2,2'-Bipyridyl and copper (I) bromide as a catalyst. The modified bentonite nanoparticles are studied using multiple techniques, such as fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), sedimentation tests, field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), etc. Flat-sheet PVC-based membrane is prepared by blending AAm-g-bentonite using the nonsolvent induced phase separation (NIPS) technique. Different methods, including FE-SEM, FTIR, sedimentation test, contact angle, porosity, antifouling property, and filtration studies of pure and oily water, are used to characterize and determine the performance of mixed-matrix membranes. Membrane performance is improved in the presence of modified bentonite (i.e., AAm-g-bentonite), with the best result achieved at PVC/AAm-g-ben-8 (i.e., 8 wt % of AAm-g-bentonite). Enhanced pure water flux (293.14 Lm-2h-1), permeate flux (123.96 Lm-2h-1), and oil rejection >93.2% are obtained by the reduced contact angle (49.1°) and improved porosity (71.22%).Pollution of the environment by heavy metals (HMs) has recently become a global issue, affecting the health of all living organisms. Continuous human activities (industrialization and urbanization) are the major causes of HM release into the environment. Over the years, two methods (physical and chemical) have been widely used to reduce HMs in polluted environment. However, these two methods are inefficient and very expensive to reduce the HMs released into the atmosphere. Alternatively, researchers are trying to remove the HMs by employing hyper-accumulator plants. This method, referred to phytoremediation, is highly efficient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly. Phytoremediation can be divided into five types phytostabilization, phytodegradation, rhizofiltration, phytoextraction, and phytovolatilization, all of which contribute to HMs removal from the polluted environment. Brassicaceae family members (particularly Arabidopsis thaliana) can accumulate more HMs from the contaminated environment than those of other plants.
