CTP-CBV showed a trend of stronger correlation with final ASPECTS than NCCT and CTA-SI (0.717 vs. 0.711 vs. 0.565;
> 0.05). ASPECTS in the internal capsule (ρ, 0.756 vs. 0.556;
= 0.016) and caudate nucleus (ρ, 0.717 vs. 0.476;
= 0.010) on CTP-CBV were more strongly correlated with follow-up ASPECTS than NCCT. CTP-CBV showed higher accuracy for predicting final infarction in the internal capsule (92.5% vs. 90.3% and 87.1%;
> 1.000,
= 0.125, respectively) and caudate nucleus (87.1% vs. 79.6% and 77.4%;
= 0.453,
= 0.039, respectively) than CTA-SI and NCCT.
CTP-CBV ASPECTS might be more reliable for delineating early ischemic changes and predicting final infarction.

Fewer than .015% of patients who undergo appendectomy for presumed appendicitis are diagnosed with primary lymphoma after evaluation of pathology specimen. 1 Of these primary lymphomas, 29.5% are Burkitt lymphoma. Burkitt lymphoma is an aggressive B-cell lymphoma characterized by translocation and dysregulation of the c-Myc gene. Intraabdominal extranodal Burkitt lymphoma has a polymorphic presentation that includes bowel obstruction, intussusception, and appendicitis. Here we report a case of an adolescent patient who was initially admitted for medical management of perforated appendicitis but was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma during his hospital course.
Retrospective cohort study.
The objective of this study is to determine how often patients with degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) and initially treated with cervical steroid injections (CSI) and to determine whether these injections provide any benefit in delaying ultimate surgical treatment.
All patients with a new diagnosis of DCM, without previous cervical spine surgery or steroid injections, were identified in PearlDiver, a large insurance database. Steroid injection and surgery timing was identified using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. Multivariate logistic regression identified associations with surgical treatment.
A total of 686 patients with DCM were identified. Pre-surgical cervical spine steroid injections were utilized in 244 patients (35.6%). All patients underwent eventual surgical treatment. Median time from initial DCM diagnosis to surgery was 75.5 days (mean 351.6 days; standard deviation 544.9 days). CC220 Cervical steroid injections were associated with higher odds of surgery within 1 year (compared to patients without injections, OR = 1.44,
.001) and at each examined time point through 5 years (OR = 2.01,
.001). In multivariate analysis comparing injection types, none of the 3 injection types were associated with decreased odds of surgery within 1 month of diagnosis.
While cervical steroid injections continue to be commonly performed in patients with DCM, there is an overall increased odds of surgery after any type of cervical injection. Therefore injections should not be used to prevent surgical management of DCM.

The purpose of this study is to report our experience with a case of punctate inner choroidopathy (PIC) reactivation following COVID-19.
A 29-year-old caucasian woman with past ophthalmological history of bilateral PIC reported sudden visual acuity decrease in her right eye (RE) 3 weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Her best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 20/32 in RE; fundus examination and multimodal imaging (including indocyanine-green angiography, fundus autofluorescence, and optical coherence tomography) was consistent with unilateral PIC reactivation. The active choroidal lesions responded to high-dose corticosteroids, with functional improvement.
Sars-CoV-2 infection could induce autoimmune and autoinflammatory dysregulation in genetically predisposed subjects. We report a case of PIC reactivation following COVID-19.

This study aims to collect local Malaysian data regarding the ophthalmic features and complications in craniosynostosis patients who attended the Combined Craniofacial Clinic (CFC) in University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).
Retrospective study of medical notes of craniosynostosis patients who attended the CFC in UMMC from 2014 to December 2020.
Out of 37 patients, 29 had syndromic craniosynostosis, and 8 had non-syndromic craniosynostosis. Visual impairment was present in 32.1% of patients. Causes for visual impairment were as follows - amblyopia (25.0%), exposure keratopathy (3.6%), and optic atrophy (3.6%). Hypermetropia and myopia were each seen in 20.6% of patients. Astigmatism was seen in 47.1% of patients, and 29.1% had anisometropia. Proptosis was present in 78.6% and lagophthalmos in 53.3% of patients. Strabismus in primary position occurred in 51.7% of patients. Thirty-one percent of the patients had exposure keratopathy. Optic disc atrophy was seen in 13.7% of patients, and 8.3% had optic disng-term visual function in these patients.We investigate the dynamics of an ion confined in a Paul-trap supplied by a fractional periodic impulsional potential. The Cantor-type cylindrical coordinate method is a powerful tool to convert differential equations on Cantor sets from cantorian-coordinate systems to Cantor-type cylindrical coordinate systems. By applying this method to the classical Laplace equation, a fractional Laplace equation in the Cantor-type cylindrical coordinate is obtained. The fractional Laplace equation is solved in the Cantor-type cylindrical coordinate, then the ions is modelled and studied for confined ions inside a Paul-trap characterized by a fractional potential. In addition, the effect of the fractional parameter on the stability regions, ion trajectories, phase space, maximum trapping voltage, spacing between two signals and fractional resolution is investigated and discussed.
