Psychobiological temperament and cognitive-evaluative character link to coping with chronic pain. The aim was to study possible independent role of temperament and character dimensions both in chronic and experimental pain in chronic post-surgical pain patients. This is a substudy of a previously published larger cohort of patients with intercostobrachial nerve injury after breast cancer surgery.
We recruited 241 women who had been treated for breast cancer 4-9years before. They had a surgeon-verified intercostobrachial nerve injury with or without chronic post-surgical neuropathic pain (CPSNP). The patients filled in the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI), Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), and underwent the cold pressor test (CPT).
201 (83%) patients reported chronic pain and 135 (56%) met the criteria for CPSNP. Patients with CPSNP showed higher levels of Harm Avoidance (HA) temperament than non-CPSNP patients, which ospital District (reference number 149/13/03/00/14).

It is widely used in the assessment of vulnerable plaque. This review summarizes the main research methods used in recent years for blood vessel lumen boundary detection and segmentation and vulnerable plaque segmentation and classification. This article aims to comprehensively and systematically introduce the research progress on internal tissues of blood vessels based on IVOCT images. The characteristics and advantages of various methods have been summarized to provide theoretical ideas and methods for the reference of relevant researchers and scholars.Currently, reported aqueous microbatteries (MBs) only show unsatisfactory electrochemical performance (≤120 mWh cm-3 volumetric energy density and less then 1000 μWh cm-2 areal energy density) and it remains challenging to develop durable aqueous MBs that can simultaneously offer both high volumetric and areal energy density. Herein, an in situ electrodeposition strategy is adopted to construct a flexible aqueous zinc-iodine MB (ZIDMB). Notably, the fabrication process well avoids the use of common additives (such as binders, conductive agents, and toxic solvent) and also bypasses subsequent time-consuming procedures such as grinding, coating, drying, etc., thus greatly simplifying the manufacture of the ZIDMB. Meanwhile, owing to the suppression of the shuttle effect of triiodide ions and the high ionic conductivity of the polyelectrolyte, the ZIDMB can simultaneously deliver record-high volumetric and areal energy densities of 1647.3 mWh cm-3 and 2339.1 μWh cm-2 , thus achieving values at least 13.5- and 2.3-fold better than those of best available aqueous MBs, respectively. This work affords an innovative strategy to construct an ideal micro-power-source for future miniaturized and integrated electronics.Given the centrality of sleep and work in most individuals' lives, it is interesting to note that an empirical understanding of the association between what happens in the workplace and how well people sleep is in an early stage of development, at least relative to other topics that are of interest in the literature on stress and health. Using self-determination theory, the current study examined how maladaptive motivational processes at work relate to sleep disturbance and mental ill health. In line with hypotheses, the results of a cross-sectional analysis and analyses using data from two time points over 15 months revealed that employees are more likely to report sleep disturbance, anxiety, and depressive symptoms when they experience frustration of the basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness in the workplace. Additional results revealed an indirect effect of change in basic psychological need frustration on change in anxiety-but not on change in depressive symptoms-through change in sleep disturbance. Taken together, these findings add to the burgeoning literature on the maladaptive motivational origins of ill health and dysfunction in the workplace.There is a concerted attempt to develop self-assembled metallo-cages of greater structural complexity, and heteroleptic PdII cages are emerging as prime candidates in these efforts. An active area of research is the development of electrolytes that address unwanted migration of sulfur and intermediate species known as polysulfides during operation of metal-sulfur batteries, a phenomenon that leads to low energy efficiency and short life-spans. A particular class of electrolytes, gel polymer electrolytes, are especially attractive for their ability to repel polysulfides on the basis of structure, electrostatics, and other polymer properties. Herein, within the context of magnesium- and lithium-sulfur batteries, we investigate the impact of gel polymer electrolyte cation solvation capacity, a property related to network dielectric constant and chemistry, on sulfur/polysulfide-polymer interactions, an understudied property-performance relationship. Polymers with lower cation solvation capacity are found to permanently absorb less polysulfide active material, which increases sulfur utilization for Li-S batteries and significantly increases charge efficiency and life-span for Li-S and Mg-S batteries.We here describe abundant new snake material from the late Miocene (MN 13) of Salobreña, Spain. Vertebral morphology suggests a referral of the specimens to the extant psammophiid Psammophis, documenting the first occurrence of this genus in Europe. The diversity and disparity across the vertebral morphology of different psammophiid genera are discussed. We identify vertebral features that could diagnose Psammophis and therefore enable the recognition of the genus in the fossil record. A comparison of the new Spanish form with other taxa is conducted. We provide a detailed review of the psammophiid fossil record. Material previously described from the middle Miocene of Beni Mellal, Morocco is here tentatively referred to as ?Psammophis sp., an action that renders that occurrence as the oldest (probable) record of the genus and Psammophiidae as a whole, providing thus a potential calibration point. On the other hand, Eastern European Pliocene material that had been previously supposedly referred to Psammophis is here discarded as being rather fragmentary, not affording any more precise determination. The two psammophiid genera Psammophis and Malpolon appear almost simultaneously in the European fossil record (MN 13), with the former achieving only a short-lived and apparently geographically limited distribution in the continent, while the latter still exists in its modern herpetofauna. We assess biogeographic implications of the new find, suggesting a direct dispersal event from northwestern Africa to the Iberian Peninsula during the late Miocene, facilitated by the Messinian Salinity Crisis.At the forefront of chemistry and biology research, development timelines are fast-paced and large quantities of pure targets are rarely available. Herein, we introduce a new framework, which is built upon an automated, online trapping-enrichment multi-dimensional liquid chromatography platform (TE-Dt-mDLC) that enables 1) highly efficient separation of complex mixtures in a first dimension (1 D-UV); 2) automated peak trapping-enrichment and buffer removal achieved through a sequence of H2 O and D2 O washes using an independent pump setup; and 3) a second dimension separation (2 D-UV-MS) with fully deuterated mobile phases and fraction collection to minimize protic residues for immediate NMR analysis while bypassing tedious drying processes and minimizing analyte degradation. Diverse examples of target isolation and characterization from organic synthesis and natural product chemistry laboratories are illustrated, demonstrating recoveries above 90 % using as little as a few micrograms of material.Chemical modification of nucleic acids in living cells can be sterically hindered by tight packing of bioorthogonal functional groups in chromatin. To address this limitation, we report here a dual enhancement strategy for nucleic acid-templated reactions utilizing a fluorogenic intercalating agent capable of undergoing inverse electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reactions with DNA containing 5-vinyl-2'-deoxyuridine (VdU) or RNA containing 5-vinyl-uridine (VU). Reversible high-affinity intercalation of a novel acridine-tetrazine conjugate "PINK" (KD =5±1 μM) increases the reaction rate of tetrazine-alkene IEDDA on duplex DNA by 60 000-fold (590 M-1 s-1 ) as compared to the non-templated reaction. At the same time, loss of tetrazine-acridine fluorescence quenching renders the reaction highly fluorogenic and detectable under no-wash conditions. To explore and describe critical challenges in current dementia care practice as perceived by healthcare professionals (HCPs) in old age homes (OAHs) in Kathmandu, Nepal.
In Nepal, the number of older people with dementia is rapidly rising, and there is a need for knowledge of how to provide quality dementia care in OAHs.
An exploratory hermeneutic design, employing qualitative interviews with eleven HCPs caring for residents with dementia in a total of five OAHs.
The analysis showed that HCPs found limited educational training in dementia-specific care to be a critical challenge leading to reduced quality in caregiving practice. Insufficient HCP competence in dementia-specific care undermined adequate coping with residents' cognitive disturbances and the behavioural and psychological symptoms in dementia (BPSD). Poor HCP/medical doctor (MD)-to-patient ratio was perceived as a critical challenge preventing proper diagnostic examination, treatment and dementia-specific care practice.
Limited educational training, sparse competence in mastering residents' cognitive disturbances and BPSD, and insufficient resources to ensure sufficient numbers of HCPs and MDs for proper diagnostic examination, treatment and dementia-specific care were identified as critical challenges restricting quality dementia care in these Nepalese OAHs.
