How To Save Money On Fair Trade Coffee Beans 1kg
Peru Organic Fair Trade Coffee 1kg

Fair trade coffee eliminates the middlemen, allowing consumers of green coffee to directly work with coffee farmers. This guarantees high-quality coffee beans and a long-term income for farmers.

The global market for coffee is a volatile one and farmers struggle to earn enough money. Fair trade provides stability for farmers by offering the Fairtrade Minimum Price plus an additional price incentive for organically grown coffee.

Peru Organic

This Peru Organic is a full flavored coffee that has a pleasing sweetness and soft acidity. It is a bit orange-y and cocoa, with a cinnamon finish. This fair trade certified coffee is sourced from a sustainable and eco conscious producer.

In Peru, coffee is produced predominantly by small farms with a few hectares of land or less. Farmers typically form cooperatives to share equipment costs and gain access to markets. Additionally, there is increasing numbers of farmers who choose to grow organically in order to enhance the quality of their crops as well as avoid the use of pesticides on their farms.

Cenfrocafe is a farm in the provinces of Jaen and San Ignacio, in northwestern Peru, near the border of Ecuador. The coop is made up of 2400 coop member farmers who grow their coffee on small plots between 1300 to 2000 meters, and between 4300 and 6500 feet at the highest altitudes in the region. Farmers take very careful care to ensure that the harvest is picked just at the right time to get the most value from the beans.

Our Peru organic coffee is completely washed and dried in the sun, which helps to produce an intense, distinctive taste. The high altitude of this region produces a full-bodied, medium-bodied coffee with mild acidity from citric.

The women of Peru who grow this coffee are part of a movement known as Cafe Femenino that is changing the role of women in the coffee communities. The coffee is cultivated, processed and traded exclusively by women, giving them the opportunity to utilize the extra funds derived from the sale of their product to improve their own and their family's health and well-being. A portion of each dollar spent on coffee is also given to the women who cultivate it. This allows them to expand their business, provide health and education for their children, and provide for their families. This is truly an amazing coffee that has been grown since the year 1700 using techniques that have been passed down by the word of mouth over generations.

Peru Arabica

Best coffee beans 1kg is home to small farm families who have formed cooperatives. This has enabled them to benefit from fair trade prices and market their beans directly. Small farms are also encouraged to employ eco-friendly methods to reduce the environmental impact of their coffee production.

Volcafe's cluster program has helped to stabilize the supply chain for roasters, while providing detailed traceability from field to FOB contract. This gives roasters the opportunity to make informed choices and view their entire purchase history. This approach is a key element in the success of Volcafe's collaboration with farmers in Peru.

In the past, coffee was favored as a replacement for coca by many farmers. The government is constantly seeking ways to replace illicit crops with coffee, which will increase profits for the coffee industry. The move is positive however it can be a challenge for the local population.

It is therefore crucial to provide sufficient financial support to farmers to maintain their livelihoods, and to ensure that the health and welfare of their families are not compromised. It is also essential to encourage the creation of new products that can increase productivity and improve the quality of coffee.

Colombian

The emerald country of Colombia is home to stunning rainforests, massive mountains, and exquisite coffee. The country produces more arabica beans washed than any other country in the world and is adept in producing a wide variety of delicious, sought-after coffees that are often unique. Colombian coffees have a smooth yet full-bodied taste and an incredibly acidic taste. They are also renowned for their sweetness and acidic taste.

Traditionally, Colombian coffee has been grown at elevations of between 1,200 - 2,200 meters above sea level. After harvest, the coffee cherries are carefully picked by hand, making sure that only fully ripe and healthy beans are able to make it through the remainder of the process. At this stage the ripe cherries are separated from the beans, which are then cleaned and dried in the sun. The beans that have been washed are separated and sorted by quality control teams according to their size and density, as well as colour. ensuring only high-quality consistent coffee gets onto supermarket shelves across the world.

Farmers and workers also receive a Fairtrade Premium, which is an extra amount on top of the sale price. This permits them to invest in community or business projects that they choose. Fair Trade supports small-scale farmers to organize themselves into cooperatives and small producers that allow them access to larger markets.

This premium is invested directly into the communities where coffee is grown. It contributes to sustainable development models, and also protects the environment. It also ensures secure working conditions, legally-regulated working hours and freedom of association, as well as zero tolerance for child labor and slavery. The money paid by the farmers helps them to secure their families and invest in their future. They also have the opportunity to maintain their cultural traditions and produce coffee that is both delicious and true to its roots.

Indonesian

Indonesia is a major producer of coffee in the world, thanks to its equatorial climate. The diverse growing conditions and traditional wet hulling methods create distinctive flavour notes that make Indonesian beans highly sought-after for blends and single origins alike. These rich heavy-bodied coffees have a long, spicy finish and a smooth, silky texture which is perfect with darker roasts.

The women-led Ketiara co-op of the Gayo Highlands in Sumatra is famous for its earthy and powerful body with delicious undertones of cedar and cocoa. The coffee is certified organic and fair trade, and supports a sustainable future for the farmers and their community. The Ketiara co-op also supports the conservation of the area around Leuser National Park by using shade grown farming as a way to protect the ecosystem.

It's not surprising that in a region renowned for its volcanic soil the fertile ground is perfect for growing coffee. This natural resource is abundant, however, is threatened by foreign coffee producers who have taken over the business. Many local farmers are not capable of competing with the prices of these big corporations and have been forced off their land.

A lack of direct trade opportunities means that for every $3 cup of coffee, only $0.15 goes to the farmer on average. Fair trade is crucial since this system needs to be altered. By establishing direct trading relations, farmers can achieve income security, which will prevent the drastic fluctuations in demand from season to season.

Our organic and natural Sulawesi fair trade beans are sourced from farmers that follow the tenets of traditional Hindu farming system known as "Sabuk Abian." The farms are situated in the Kintamani highland region, which lies between the Batukaru and Agung volcanoes. They supply the fields with fresh volcanic ash, which keeps the soil fertile. This organic and fair trade coffee is rich and creamy bodied with a long spicy finish. This dark roast is delicious by itself or as part of a rich mixture.
