This article describes a curated dataset entitled "Looking at Crime Communities and Physical Spaces", which comprises data from different sources, namely Diagnosis of Local Security (DLS), Diagnosis of School Environment (DSE) and observation of physical spaces. The main topic covered was crime and related variables at the Historic Centre of Porto (HCP), a well-known urban area located in the North of Portugal. It is currently attended by inhabitants, workers, students and tourists. This dataset includes i) data from two different self-reports i.1) demographics, perception of (in)security, victimization, social control and community cohesion obtained through an inquiry applied to the adult community; and i.2) data from school climate and students behavioural problems, which may be seen as risk factors for juvenile delinquency, collected through a web-survey applied to school personnel; and ii) data from observation of physical spaces, attending to the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles. The dataset allows descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, being useful for students, academics, stakeholders, police forces and policy-makers, to better understand crime and its related variables, forecast criminal incidents, and further develop associated preventive and intervention programmes.Samples of ∼1 µm films of CeO2 doped with 2 wt% Mo, 1.5 wt% Ru, 0.75 wt% Pd, 0.5 wt% Re and 0.25 wt% Rh grown with pulsed laser deposition were irradiated with I2+ ions (610 °C and 730 °C, 1016 and 5 × 1016 I2+/cm2). For selected samples post-irradiation heat treatment was conducted (900 °C, 1100 °C). The specimens were sectioned with focused ion beam milling and characterized in a transmission electron microscope with energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, and with atom-probe tomography. Paclitaxel solubility dmso Energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy was used to obtain elemental maps showing the distribution of dopants in the specimen after exposure. Some of these maps are discussed in detail in our companion article "Formation of multicomponent alloy particles in doped ceria under I2+ ion irradiation and thermal annealing" in the Journal of Nuclear Materials [1]. Advanced computational analysis could be used to more accurately quantify local compositions. Data is provided for additional regions of interest and one additional irradiation condition. The doped ceria film that was heat treated at 1100 °C delaminated from the substrate in most places. Samples were extracted from the underside of a delaminated piece and analyzed with atom-probe tomography. The resulting data show ceria and a Mo-rich particle and demonstrate that this approach is feasable in principle to study local compositions in a sample exposed to such extreme conditions.
Despite widespread use of repeated doses of potent bone-targeting agents (BTA) in oncology patients, relatively little is known about their in vivo effects on bone homeostasis, bone quality, and bone architecture. Traditionally bone quality has been assessed using a trans-iliac bone biopsy with a 7 mm "Bordier" core needle. We examined the feasibility of using a 2mm "Jamshidi™" core needle as a more practical and less invasive technique.

Patients with metastatic breast cancer on BTAs were divided according to the extent of bone metastases. They were given 2 courses of tetracycline labeling and then underwent a posterior trans-iliac trephine biopsy and bone marrow aspirate. Samples were analyzed for the extent of tumor invasion and parameters of bone turnover and bone formation by histomorphometry.

Twelve patients were accrued, 1 had no bone metastases, 3 had limited bone metastases (LSM) (<3 lesions) and 7 had extensive bone metastases (ESM) (>3 lesions). Most of the primary tumors were estrogen rr burden by morphometric analysis of bone tissues. In addition, our approach provides additional mechanistic information on therapeutic response to BTA supporting the current clinical understanding that the majority of patients with extensive bone involvement eventually fail to suppress bone turnover (Petrut B, et al. 2008). This suggests that antiresorptive therapies become less effective as disease progresses. We focus on social touch as a paradigmatic case of the embodied, cognitive, and metacognitive processes involved in social, affective regulation. Social touch appears to contribute three interrelated but distinct functions to affective regulation. First, it regulates affects by fulfilling embodied predictions about social proximity and attachment. Second, caregiving touch, such as warming an infant, regulates affect by socially enacting homeostatic control and co-regulation of physiological states. Third, affective touch such as gentle stroking or tickling regulates affect by allostatic regulation of the salience and epistemic gain of particular experiences in given contexts and timescales. These three functions of affective touch are most likely mediated, at least partly, by different neurobiological processes, including convergent hedonic, dopaminergic and analgesic, opioidergic pathways for the attachment function, 'calming' autonomic and endocrine pathways for the homeostatic function, while the allostatic function may be mediated by oxytocin release and related 'salience' neuromodulators and circuits.
To accommodate for the rapidly increasing patient volume and follow-up visits of men with prostate cancer on active surveillance (AS), we carried out a quality improvement project to secure high-quality care and enhance patient experience.

We proposed an innovative clinic systems redesign - "Shared Medical Appointments" (SMAs) - in which multiple patients were seen in a group format at the same time by the health care team led by a urologist leading the Institution's AS program.

We piloted four SMAs during July-November 2019. Running the SMAs was feasible and improved the contact time for each patient while at the same time being time- and resource efficient for the healthcare providers and using the standard billing processes. The group dynamic was open and pleasant. The majority of patients rated their overall experience with SMA as excellent. Almost all patients responded that they were likely or very likely to attend another SMA in the future. All patients said that they would either definitely or probably recommend this visit type to a friend of family member with prostate cancer. Most patients rated their overall satisfaction with the SMA as extremely high.

Utilizing SMAs for AS follow-up visits was feasible and acceptable. Our promising findings suggest that SMAs can ensure high-quality patient care. Well-controlled studies comparing SMAs to individual usual care visits should be conducted with endpoints including knowledge, patient and staff satisfaction, anxiety and quality-of-life outcomes, AS adherence, process measures and resource utilization.

Keeping this in mind, we pay attention to an infinite buffer single server batch-size dependent batch service queue with queue size (queue length) dependent vacation. The arrival pattern of the customers in the system follows the Poisson process where they get the service in packets/group following the general batch service (GBS) rule. An embedded Markov chain technique is used for the mathematical analysis where service (vacation) completion epochs have been taken as an embedded Markov point. We obtain the bivariate generating functions of the queue size and vacation type (queue size at vacation initiation epoch) at vacation termination epoch, and the bivariate generating function of the queue size and batch size with the server at service completion epoch, and then we successfully extract the steady-state joint probabilities of the queue size and batch size with the server and the joint probabilities of the queue size and vacation type at various epochs. Finally, various performance measures are presented. Also, the behavior of the considered model is presented by the graphs and tables.Introduction A mere 33% of all children meet the recommended minimum physical activity guidelines for adequate health maintenance. Available literature however suggests children are more likely to be active when they are competent with their own motor ability. This review aimed to evaluate how several regimented motor skills training courses and interventions improve motor skill competence among children compared with age matched control peers. Method Electronic databases were searched and included Medline Complete and Psych INFO (both hosted by EBSCO Host). The search syntax examined titles and abstracts. The study aimed to create novelty by examining participants with and without developmental delays simultaneously from studies around the globe. Included interventions were aimed at the most crucial developmental years for children (between 3 and 11 years). Results Results were found in favor of the motor skill intervention groups (from pre-to post-test). Included interventions involved weekly motor skills exposure of 60 to 120 minutes for periods of between 2 and 6 months. Over 50% of included interventions involved alterations to current school curriculums. The included studies were of moderate to high quality. Conclusion The findings suggest that for those with and without developmental delays, several interventions can be effectively applied in once weekly 60-minute sessions (over eight or more weeks) to improve children's motor skill abilities. Applying appropriate difficulty to interventions seems equally influential. Implications are discussed.Background. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), is a chronic relapsing disease indicated by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Celiac disease (CeD) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the small bowel. The prevalence of CeD in IBD patients is unknown. Some studies have described the coexistence of the 2 diseases in the same patient. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of CeD in Saudi Arabian children with IBD. Methods. We used a retrospective study design because data can be collected immediately and is easier to analyze afterward. The study was conducted on IBD patients in the Pediatric Gastroenterology Department at National Guard Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. We enrolled Saudi patients aged between 1 and 18 years who had been diagnosed with IBD and CeD based on positive biochemical serology and histology from January 2011 to January 2020. We excluded patients with immunodeficiency disorders. Results. Among the 46 enrolled patients with IBD, CeD was identified in 4, and they did not develop any relapses. We discovered that the weight at IBD diagnosis improved significantly compared to current weight (P-value  less then  .0001). We also discovered that the height at diagnosis of IBD improved significantly compared to the current height (P-value  less then  .0001). Additionally, we found no significant associations between UC and CeD (P-value = 1), or CD and CeD (P-value = .625). Conclusion. No significant associations were evident between the prevalence of CeD and IBD. More prospective multicenter studies are needed to clarify the prevalence of CeD in children with IBD.
