Antero-posterior trans pelvic diameter (APD) and renal scintigraphy play a significant role in the diagnosis of pelvi-ureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction and postoperative follow-up following pyeloplasty. However, the APD varies irrespective of improvement, deterioration, or preserved function in a hydronephrotic kidney and is not a reliable parameter due to various factors (hydration status, compliance, and reduction pyeloplasty). Calyx to Parenchymal Ratio (CPR) is the ratio of the depth of the calyx and parenchymal thickness measured on ultrasound (USG) in coronal image. We assessed the utility of CPR in the follow up of pyeloplasty and compared it with the commonly used APD of the pelvis and renal scintigraphy.
A prospective cohort study was done from July 2016 to October 2017. During this period 73 pyeloplasties were done, and 62 cases meeting the inclusion criteria were enrolled. All the children underwent ultrasound and Technetium-99m Ethylene dicysteine isotope renogram (EC) scan before and after influenced by extent of pelvis reduction during pyeloplasty and early to change. COVID-19 stay-at-home orders during Spring 2020 dramatically changed daily life and created significant challenges for families. We document levels and predictors of U.S. parents who newly allowed adolescents to drink alcohol at home during the shutdown.
Participants in an ongoing longitudinal study were two adolescent siblings (N= 911, M= 14.43, SD= 1.54years) and one parent (N= 456; 85% mothers) who provided self-report data before the pandemic (T1) and during the shutdown.
No parents permitted adolescent drinking with family at T1; nearly one in six allowed it during the shutdown. In full models, adolescents who previously drank (without permission) and had light or heavy drinking parents were more likely to be newly permitted to drink.

The anodic peak current was used as a measure of the leuco-indigo concentration. The voltammetric wave shape suggested partial solubilization of the indigo with some macromolecules in the fermenting suspensions, which lead to an in-situ method without any electrode surface pretreatment. The anodic peak current well reflected the dyeing activity of a suspensions. The results obtained for laboratory-level fermentation systems clarified the number of days required for dye fermentation, the effectiveness of addition of old suspension as an additive for preparing fresh fermenting suspensions, and the importance of addition of a nitrogen-based nutrient as well as a glucose-based one to recover the indigo-reducing activity. The method can also be applied to determine the amounts of indigo in used dye suspensions and extracts of fermented indigo leaves (sukumo) by adding a chemical reduction pretreatment.The oleaginous yeast Lipomyces starkeyi is an intriguing lipid producer that can produce triacylglycerol (TAG), a feedstock for biodiesel production. We previously reported that the L. starkeyi mutant E15 with high levels of TAG production compared with the wild-type was efficiently obtained using Percoll density gradient centrifugation. However, considering its use for biodiesel production, it is necessary to further improve the lipid productivity of the mutant. In this study, we aimed to obtain mutants with better lipid productivity than E15, evaluate its lipid productivity, and analyze lipid synthesis-related gene expression in the wild-type and mutant strains. The mutants E15-11, E15-15, and E15-25 exhibiting higher lipid productivity than E15 were efficiently isolated from cells exposed to ultraviolet light using Percoll density gradient centrifugation. They exhibited approximately 4.5-fold higher lipid productivity than the wild-type on day 3. The obtained mutants did not exhibit significantly different fatty acid profiles than the wild-type and E15 mutant strains. E15-11, E15-15, and E15-25 exhibited higher expression of acyl-CoA synthesis- and Kennedy pathway-related genes than the wild-type and E15 mutant strains. Activation of the pentose phosphate pathway, which supplies NADPH, was also observed. These results suggested that the increased expression of acyl-CoA synthesis- and Kennedy pathway-related genes plays a vital role in lipid productivity in the oleaginous yeast L. starkeyi.
Few data exist on perioperative three-dimensional-derived right ventricular strain. The authors aimed to describe the perioperative course of three-dimensional-derived right ventricular strain in coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery patients.

The study comprised 40 patients with preserved left ventricular and right ventricular (RV) function undergoing isolated on-pump CABG surgery.
Three-dimensional strain analysis and standard echocardiographic evaluation of RV function were performed preoperatively (T1) and postoperatively (T4) with transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and intraoperatively before sternotomy (T2) and after sternotomy (T3) with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). All echocardiographic measurements were performed under stable hemodynamic conditions and predefined fluid management without any vasoactive support.
The measurements of three-dimensional-derived RV free-wall strain (3D-RV FWS) and RV ejection fraction were performed using TomTec 4D RV-Function 2.
