CAMHS ADHD Assessment

CAMHS is the NHS service for youngsters and children who have emotional, mental or behavioural issues. These codes were then discussed in a meeting with the QI team and Commissioners to identify the major themes. This report presents these themes and subthemes. This is the first study to use a qualitative QI approach to examine the waiting time for ADHD assessments. The findings from this study will be used to guide the development of improvement initiatives within CAMHS. This could include reconsideration of the way that waiting lists are managed, and ways to help young children and adolescents as waiting for appointments. The findings from this research will also be used to inform the future commissioning and delivery the UK of a service for children and adolescents with ADHD.
