To investigate the serum cystatin (CysC), Chemerin, and gastrin-releasing peptide precursor (ProGRP) levels in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF).

CRF patients admitted to our hospital from February 2019 to July 2019 were selected as the observation group, and 50 healthy patients were selected as the control group. The serum levels of CysC, Chemerin, ProGRP, and Scr of all subjects were detected. Patients with CRF were admitted for peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatment for 1 week, and continued treatment was performed. The survival rate of patients with CRF in nearly 1 year after continuous treatment was observed. Multivariate analysis of factors affecting survival time of CRF patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis was performed. The results were compared with those in the health group. The expression levels of CysC, Chemerin, ProGRP, and Scr in the observation group were all decreased, and the differences were statistically significant (
< 0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that Scr expted with serum Scr of patients, which can be used as a reliable indicator of pathogenesis and prognosis assessment of CRF patients.
The emergence of multi-drug-resistant organisms has created a lot of clinical problems. Hence, there is a need to find natural alternative treatment to counter the multi-drug-resistant organisms. Honey has a well-established usage as wound dressing in ancient and traditional medicine.

The objective of this study is to establish a baseline for the antibacterial activity of 32 global raw natural and commercial various honey samples against 8 clinical isolates.

Thirty-two honey samples (raw and commercial honey) collected from different global countries with different floral origins were tested
for antibacterial activity against 8 clinical isolates collected from patients, at private hospital from Sudan, using disk diffusion technique. The following 6 epsilometer tests (Etest), amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, and tetracycline, were used against 8 clinical isolates for Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC).

The following 8 clinical isolates were identified by conveunprocessed honey against tested clinical isolates. Thus, honey is a successful alternative to conventional antibiotics as has been proved against clinical isolates.
This study is aimed at evaluating the impact of the craniofacial structure and occlusal conditions on the position of the articular heads of the mandibular condyles in the maximum intercuspal position (MIP) and comparing the centric relation (CR) and MIP of the mandibular condyles prior to orthodontic treatment.

The studied group consisted of 33 women and 15 men (median age of 17.75 years). Contact points of opposing teeth in the MIP were assessed by hand-held casts. Condylar displacement (CD) in three spatial planes on both sides was measured on models mounted in an articulator using a mandibular position indicator (MPI). Patients were divided into groups according to craniofacial structures (vertical and horizontal growth directions). The Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, post hoc Dwass-Steel-Critchlow-Fligner, and Pearson's

independence tests as well as Spearman's nonparametric correlations were used in the statistical analyses.

Within the limitations of this study, no statistically significant correlation of CD with certain cephalometric measurements from a lateral cephalometric radiograph (ANB, SN-ML, and SGo/NMe) was observed. Correlation, however, was found between condylar displacement in the transverse axis and the mandibular plane angle SN-ML (
= 0.033) and also between condylar displacement in the anteroposterior axis and a midline shift of the mandible (
= 0.041). The results revealed a relationship between Angle's classification of molar position on the right side and anteroposterior CD values (
= 0.006).

Cephalometric measurements cannot be used to predict CD at the level of the condyles. Analysis of occlusal conditions of models mounted in an articulator is desirable for patients with Angle's class I and lower jaw asymmetry.

However, their consumption has received lower patronage. This is partly attributed to farmers replacing the growing of indigenous green leafy vegetables with their exotic counterparts and scarce information on their nutritional benefits. This study explored the effect of cooking methods (boiling and steaming for 10 minutes) on the antioxidant activity of Amaranthus dubius, Solanum nigrum, and Curcubita maxima. Spectrometry was used to evaluate the reducing power and antihemolytic activity. Titration via the 2,6-indophenol method was used for measuring vitamin C and replacement titration for hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity. Cooking the vegetables by steaming or boiling caused up to 99% reduction in the vitamin C concentration of the cooked vegetables. The antioxidant activity of the cooked vegetables varied across the species assessed and cooking method used. Steaming retained and in some instances promoted the antioxidant activity of the vegetables. The study concludes that cooking by either steaming or boiling alters the antioxidant activity of indigenous vegetables.
The World Health Organization Report noted that unintended pregnancy is the most common cause of maternal mortality in developing countries. Most unintended pregnancies occur where access to maternal care is limited, and because of this, many mothers lose their life. Therefore, this study was an attempt to assess the proportion of unintended pregnancy and associated factors among women who live in Ilu Gelan District, Western Ethiopia, 2021.

A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in the rural and urban kebeles of Ilu Gelan Woreda West Shoa Zone, Ethiopia, from March 1 to 30, 2021. The study population consists of 540 pregnant women who were living in Ilu Gelan Woreda for at least the last six months during the data collection period. Simple random sampling by lottery method was used to recruit the study subject. Data were checked, coded, entered to EpiData version 3, and then exported to SPSS version 25 for analysis. Both descriptive and analytical statistical procedures were utilized. Both y indicated that more than half of pregnant women reported that their current pregnancy was found to be unintended pregnancy. Married women, family monthly income less than 1000 Ethiopian Birr, gravidity greater than or equal to five, birth space less than two years, lack of contraceptive awareness, and health care decisions by husband only showed a significant association with unintended pregnancy. compound 3i research buy To decrease the current level of unintended pregnancy, all concerned stakeholders should emphatically consider those identified factors for intervention; specifically, Ilu Gelan District Health Bureau and health providers should empower women with health education about family planning and decision-making related to their health issues in the study area.
Ethiopia has reduced maternal mortality from 871 to 412 per 100,000 live births between 2000 and 2016. In 2019, under-5 mortality rates in Ethiopia were 55 deaths per 1,000 live births. Benishangul Gumuz was the second-largest region in the under-5 mortality rate (98/1,000 live births) in the country. Maternal and child health care service uptake is an important indicator of health outcomes. This study is aimed at exploring major barriers to maternal and child health care uptake in Assosa Zone.

This study was conducted in the Bambasi, Menge, and Sherkole districts of the Assosa Zone from July 17 to August 31/2019. The study explored the life experience of study participants about MCH services. The sampling technique was purposive, and data collection methods were focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed thematically.

The main barriers to child health care services were financial problems, lack of knowledge, preference of traditional medicines for a sick child, women having no time to care for their sick child, poor roads. poor health facility readiness, the poor economy of families, lack of ambulance, cultural and traditional beliefs, providers being male, and unprofessional behaviors which were the major barriers hindering the uptake of maternal health service utilization.

Poor health facility readiness, indirect costs, inaccessibility to health facilities, and cultural and traditional practices were among the major barriers to service uptake identified by this research in the study area.

Penial incarceration (PI) is a rare situation. It is usually caused by a foreign object which strangulates at the base of the penis. PI may derive from pranks, sexual demand, mental disease, or intention to prohibit urinary disease. Generally, these situations are emergent and immediate treatments are needed. Cases of chronic PI are less reported, and their treating methods are yet to be discussed.

We reported a case on treating a 73-year-old male who had PI with a metallic hoop for three months. After multidisciplinary consultation, the operation was performed successfully with the help of a fretsaw. Despite the chronic strangulation, the prognosis of the patient was satisfying. To the best of our knowledge, this case was rare and precious as it featured the longest strangulating time, which might enlighten the treating process of future PI cases. Also, we have reviewed and summarized major published cases to encapsulate appropriate approaches when facing diverse strangulation situations.

The selection of surgical tools depends on the material of the strangulating objects, the availability of equipment, and the severity of the penial damage. The urination function may not be affected after three months of incarceration as in our case, whilst prudent preoperative measures and multidisciplinary evaluations are always essential. Although using a fretsaw is comparatively slow, it is safe and feasible to treat metallic penial incarceration.

Fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis (FHP) is an allergic and diffuse pneumonia caused by repeated inhalation of antigenic substances, and sometimes developed in people working in specific environments. While novel antigens and exposures continued to be described, physicians should maintain a high suspicion of potential exposures. A detailed assessment of the patient's occupational exposures as well as living environment is necessary and complete allergen avoidance is the first and most important step in the management of FHP once the allergens are determined.

A 35-year-old female was admitted to the hospital with a cough and breathing difficulties for more than one year. She was a nonsmoker and a manufacturer of halogen dishes, which are characteristic Chinese foods, for 15 years without any protection. High resolution computed tomography of the chest demonstrated an interstitial pneumonia pattern. Pulmonary function examination showed restricted ventilation dysfunction and a significant reduction in dispersion ability.
