The distribution and influencing factors of the syndrome types need to be further explored and clarified by more large-sample and high-quality studies.Objective To investigate the effects of Compound Amino Acid Capsules (CAAC) for obstructive azoospermia (OA) patients undergoing percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) and ICSI. METHODS We retrospectively studied 134 cycles of PESA-ICSI in OA males, who were divided into a CAAC group (n = 64) and a control group (n = 70), the former, aged (32.1 ± 5.7) years, treated with CAAC for 3 months before PESA-ICSI while the latter, aged (32.3 ± 4.5) years, left untreated. We compared the rates fertilization, cleavage, high-quality embryos and blastocyst formation between the two groups of patients. RESULTS Compared with the control, the CAAC group achieved significantly higher rates of high-quality embryos (［67.4 ± 13.8］% vs ［74.3 ± 12.6］%, P less then 0.05) and blastocyst formation (［60.3±14.2］% vs ［66.8±14.6］%, P less then 0.05), but no statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups in the ages of the males and females, number of oocytes retrieved, or the rates of fertilization and cleavage. CONCLUSIONS Medication of Compound Amino Acid Capsules can effectively improve the rates of high-quality embryos and blastocyst formation in obstructive azoospermia patients undergoing PESA-ICSI.Objective To investigate the advantage of a new procedure of penoplasty by T-shaped incision and three-point fixation (TSI+TPF) in reducing postoperative preputial edema in the treatment of concealed penis. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 244 cases of concealed penis treated in our center between June 2014 and June 2017, 185 by TSI+TPF penoplasty and the other 59 by modified Devine surgery (MDS). We compared the incidence of postoperative preputial edema between the two groups of patients. RESULTS The incidence rate of preputial edema was obviously lower in the TSI+TPF penoplasty than in the MDS group at 2 (28.1% vs 33.9%) and 4 weeks after surgery (11.4% vs 20.3%), though with no statistically significant difference, and that of moderate to severe edema was significantly lower in the former than in the latter at 4 weeks (1.1% vs 6.8%, P less then 0.05). And no long-term residual edema was observed after TSI+TPF penoplasty. CONCLUSIONS Penoplasty by T-shaped incision and three-point fixation can effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative preputial edema, especially that of moderate to severe edema, in the treatment of concealed penis.Objective To investigate the application value of dynamic intracavitary three-dimensional contrast-enhanced tomographic transrectal ultrasound imaging (3D-CETRUS TUI) in transperineal prostate biopsy for patients with different levels of PSA. METHODS This prospective study included 180 patients with escalated levels of PSA (≥4 μg/L) or abnormal results of digital rectal examination. According to the level of PSA, the patients were divided into groups A (PSA ≤10 μg/L, n = 104) and B (PSA >10 μg/L, n = 76), and all underwent intracavitary 3D-CETRUS TUI followed by transperineal prostate biopsy under the guidance of two-dimensional gray-scale ultrasound, which involved a standard 12-core transperineal systematic prostate puncture by intracavitary biplane probe and then a 2-core puncture in the abnormal region displayed by 3D-CETRUS TUI. With the pathological results as the gold standard, comparisons were made between the diagnostic value of 3D-CETRUS TUI-guided biopsy and that of 12-core systematic biopsy. RESULTS Prostate cancer was diagnosed in 69 (38.33%) of the 180 cases and in the specimens from 631 (25.03%) of the 2 520 punctures.
