Here we generated a highly purified recombinant protein corresponding to the RBM of SARS-CoV-2, and used it to screen for cross-reactive monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). We found two RBM-binding mAbs that competitively inhibited its interaction with human ACE2, and specifically blocked the RBM-induced GM-CSF secretion in both human peripheral blood mononuclear cells and murine macrophage cultures. The present study evaluated the photochemoprotective potential of the EAF and its 2,6-di-O-galloylarbutin (1) isolate. The EAF and the phenolic antioxidant (1) reduced UVB-induced L929 fibroblast death. The EAF prevented UVB-induced damage in fibroblasts by inhibiting the intracellular production of reactive oxygen species and lipid peroxidation, especially in pretreated cells. Topical treatment with an emulsion with 1% EAF prevented/attenuated UVB-induced inflammation and oxidative stress in the skin in hairless mice by controlling the increase in myeloperoxidase activity, reducing superoxide anion production, maintaining radical-scavenging ability and ferric reducing power, and controlling the depletion of reduced glutathione and catalase levels. The EAF also inhibited the increase in epidermal thickness, mast cell infiltration, the number of sunburn cells and collagen fiber destruction that were triggered by UVB. In conclusion, the maximum tolerated dose for WS-23 acute inhalation is not less than 340.0 mg/m3 , and the No Observed Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL) of WS-23 subacute inhalation was determined to be over 342.85 mg/m3 .
Comprehensive hematology and biochemistry RIs are currently lacking in the literature for young dairy calves based on sample sizes more than 120. Young dairy calves are at a relatively high risk of poor health and welfare outcomes. They have a high risk of morbidity and mortality in the first 2weeks of life, and many are transported and fasted during this time. For example, non-replacement calves in Australia and New Zealand are usually 5-12days old when transported to abattoirs, meaning that calves of this age group are potentially at risk of both health and welfare compromise. Given these factors, sound, comprehensive, age-specific biochemical and hematologic RIs are needed for both veterinary clinical practice and to inform research on calf health and welfare.

We collected blood samples from 141 fasted, healthy dairy calves on 10 Australian farms. Reference Value Advisor software was used to calculate nonparametric RIs for multiple biochemistry and hematology variables.

Use of enrofloxacin in trout farms is reported, especially for the treatment of yersiniosis, albeit various dosing regimens have been used. Therefore, optimal doses should be investigated.

Five groups of 15 fish were challenged with Y. ruckeri. Two days later, three groups received feed containing enrofloxacin (ENR) at 1, 2.5 and 5 mg/kg fish respectively, during 7 days; one group received a single intraperitoneal injection of ENR at 10 mg/kg; and one group was left untreated. On day 15, surviving fish were euthanized.

All fish survived in the group treated by injection, compared to 53%, 60% and 40% of the fish treated with 1, 2.5 and 5 mg/kg oral ENR, respectively, and 53% in the infected untreated group.

A single intraperitoneal injection of ENR at 10 mg/kg seems more relevant than repeated oral administrations. The ENR oral doses used in trout farms should be revised.
