This study was carried out to determine the effect of an obesity prevention program on children's eating behaviors, food addiction, physical activity, and obesity prevalence.

A pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was used in the study. The study was conducted with a total of 128 students, including 55 in the intervention and 73 in the control groups. The obesity prevention program was implemented in the intervention group, and a routine curriculum training program was followed in the control group. The study data were collected before the intervention and in the third, sixth, and fifteenth months after the completion of the intervention. The data were evaluated using the chi-square test, McNeamer test, Cochrane Q test, multivariate analysis of variance in repeated measures, the Bonferroni adjusted paired t-test, power analysis, effect size, and regression analysis.

Evaluate the long-term effect of zileuton on sinonasal outcomes in patients with AERD.

AERD patients were reviewed and divided into two cohorts, depending if they were treated with zileuton during their clinical course. Demographic data, 22-item sinonasal outcome test (SNOT-22), Lund-Kennedy (LK) endoscopy score, duration of treatment, and number of sinus surgeries performed were collected.

40 AERD patients were included, with follow-up duration up to 10years (avg of 5.2years). All patients were treated with topical saline and budesonide irrigations, intranasal steroid spray, and montelukast. 19 patients had uncontrolled sinus disease requiring multiple steroid tapers and were switched from montelukast to zileuton (cohort 1, 47.5%) at some point in their treatment. 21 patients (cohort 2, 52.5%) never needed zileuton. The average duration of treatment with zileuton was 6years. Patients who required zileuton had a worse SNOT-22 (32.1 vs 19, p=0.117), worse LK score (8.1 vs 7.5, p=0.504), and higher average number of surgeries (1.9 vs 1.6, p=0.343). The outcomes in the zileuton cohort trended toward improvement, however these did not reach statistical significance with an improved SNOT-22 from 32.1 to 27.4 (p=0.617) and LK score from 7.9 to 6.2 (p=0.092); The addition of zileuton significantly lowered the number of surgeries needed to an average of 0.5 (p<0.0001).

Tinnitus is an annoying buzz that manifests itself in many ways. In addition, it can provoke anxiety, stress, depression, and fatigue. The acoustic therapies have become the most commonly applied treatment for tinnitus, either self-administered or clinically prescribed. Binaural Sound Therapy (BST) and Music Therapy (MT) aim to reverse the neuroplasticity phenomenon related to tinnitus by adequately stimulating the auditory path-way. The goal of this research is to evaluate the feasibility of applying BST for tinnitus treatment by comparing its effect with MT effect.

34 patients with tinnitus from 29 to 60years were informed about the experimental procedure and consented their participation. Patients were divided into two groups 1) MT and 2) BST. They applied their sound-based treatment for one hour every day along eight weeks. Each treatment was adjusted to Hearing Loss (HL) and tinnitus characteristics of each participant. Total 10 cases of primary haematoma & recurrent cases were included in the study. A detailed history was entered in proforma. Procedure was done under local anaesthesia with all aseptic precautions. A cruciate incision was given over the most dependent part of the swelling and flaps were raised. The collection was drained and the under surface of the flap was scraped using Rosen''s knife followed by insertion of small drain tube and pressure dressing was done. Patients were followed up for three months.

Out of the 10 cases 6 were primary cases and 4 were recurrent cases out of which males were 80% and females 20%. None of them showed recurrence. Overall cosmetic deformity was negligible with most of the patients. 1 patient developed perichondrial reaction with pain and inflammation which required long course of analgesics and antibiotics. In 3 cases a thickening of the auricle at the site of incision was noticed.

Prior cancer history is an important exclusion criterion from clinical trials and may decrease their generalizability. This study aimed to investigate the impact of prior cancer on the prognosis of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and to describe their characteristics.

Data of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma diagnosed between 2010 and 2015 were collected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. The discrepancy in baseline characteristics was adjusted by propensity score matching. Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses were performed to assess the impact of prior cancer on overall survival.

A total of 3412 individuals were identified, of which 418 (12.25%) had prior cancer. Prostate cancer was the most frequently detected type of prior cancer (18.42%). Nearly 45% of the prior cancers were diagnosed within 5years before the nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Patients with prior cancer had an inferior survival compared to those without prior cancer (p<0.001). Notably, patients with prior prostate, breast, hematological, and nasopharyngeal cancers had a non-inferior overall survival. Prior cancer history was an independent factor of poor overall survival (hazard ratio=1.329, p=0.003).

Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is the surgical treatment for lacrimal sac mucoceles (LSM), yet variants of the procedure are several. Since LSM causes bone remodeling and thinning, especially of the lacrimal bone, osteotomy at that site is reasonably the easiest. The aim of the study is to support treatment of LSM via a posterior DCR approach, in a large cohort of cases, and report patients' quality of life after the procedure with validated questionnaires.

Single-center observational retrospective study on a specific methodology (endoscopic-DCR via posterior approach). Consecutive patients with LSM were enrolled in 2008-2020; CT scans were reviewed, bone thickness was measured bilaterally and compared.
