The major role assigned to process and structure indicators reflects the fact that they are predominantly structured by RHA requests. Even if this initial study necessitates further research, it highlights a change in the design of educational and psychosocial assessments among caregivers, a change likely to reflect their interest in how patients go about managing their illnesses, (more or less healthy) lifestyles and daily lives. The French-speaking Respiratory Medicine Society (SPLF) proposes a guide for the management of possible respiratory sequelae in patients who have presented with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia (COVID-19). The proposals are based on known data from previous epidemics, preliminary published data on post COVID-19 follow-up and on expert opinion. The proposals were developed by a group of experts and then submitted, using the Delphi method, to a panel of 22 pulmonologists. DNQX research buy Seventeen proposals were validated ranging from additional examinations after the minimum assessment proposed in the SPLF monitoring guide, to inhaled or systemic corticosteroid therapy and antifibrotic agents. These proposals may evolve over time as knowledge accumulates. This guide emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary discussion. The anthropogenic emission of boron to river has become a serious problem that deteriorates the water quality and endangers the ecosystem. Although boron is a micronutrient, it is toxic to plants, animals and humans upon exposure. In this review, we first present the sources of the boron-containing streams and their composition, and then summarize the recent progress of boron removal methods based on adsorption and coagulation systematically. The boron-spiked streams are produced from coal-fired and geothermal power plants, the manufacturing and the activities of oil/gas excavation and mining. The adsorbents for boron removal are classified into the ones functionalized by chelating groups, the ones on the basis of clays or metal oxide. Three subgroups reside in the coagulation approach electrocoagulation, chemical precipitation and chemical oxo-precipitation. The hybrid technology that combines membrane process and adsorption/coagulation was covered as well. To provide a comprehensive view of each method, we addressed the reaction mechanism, specified the strength and weakness and summarized the progress in the past 5 years. Ultimately, the prospective for future research and the possible improvement on applicability and recyclability were proposed. The genus Sphingopyxis was first reported in the year 2001. Phylogenetically, Sphingopyxis is well delineated from other genera Sphingobium, Sphingomonas and Novosphingobium of sphingomonads group, family Sphingomonadaceae of Proteobacteria. To date (at the time of writing), the genus Sphingopyxis comprises of twenty validly published species available in List of Prokaryotic Names with Standing in Nomenclature. Sphingopyxis spp. have been isolated from diverse niches including, agricultural soil, marine and fresh water, caves, activated sludge, thermal spring, oil and pesticide contaminated soil, and heavy metal contaminated sites. Sphingopyxis species have drawn considerable attention not only for their ability to survive under extreme environments, but also for their potential to degrade number of xenobiotics and other environmental contaminants that impose serious threat to human health. At present, genome sequence of both cultivable and non-cultivable strains (metagenome assembled genome) are available in the public databases (NCBI) and genome wide studies confirms the presence of mobile genetic elements and plethora of degradation genes and pathways making them a potential candidate for bioremediation. Beside genome wide predictions there are number of experimental evidences confirm the degradation potential of bacteria belonging to genus Sphingopyxis and also the production of different secondary metabolites that help them interact and survive in their ecological niches. This review provides detailed information on ecology, general characteristic and the significant implications of Sphingopyxis species in environmental management along with the bio-synthetic potential.
Pathological lung segmentation as a pretreatment step in the diagnosis of lung diseases has been widely explored. Because of the complexity of pathological lung structures and gray blur of the border, accurate lung segmentation in clinical 3D computed tomography images is a challenging task. link2 In view of the current situation, the work proposes a fast and accurate pathological lung segmentation method. The following contributions have been made First, the edge weights introduce spatial information and clustering information, so that walkers can use more image information during walking. Second, a Gaussian Distribution of seed point set is established to further expand the possibility of selection between fake seed points and real seed points. Finally, the pre-parameter is calculated using original seed points, and the final results are fitted with new seed points.
This study proposes a segmentation method based on an improved random walker algorithm. The proposed method consists of the following steps Firstn pathological lung processing results. Therefore, it has potential clinical applications.
The comparison of the experimental results show that the proposed method can accurately and quickly obtain pathological lung processing results. Therefore, it has potential clinical applications.
Incorporation of non-Fourier heat conduction while studying heat transfer phenomena in biological materials has emerged has an important approach as it predicts better and more realistic results than Fourier based models. In this article we have proposed a non-Fourier computational model and applied the same to simulate cryosurgery of lung tumor and attempted minimization of freezing damage of healthy lung tissue using pulsed laser irradiation.
A non-Fourier bioheat transfer model for phase change in biological tissues is solved via a Fourier heat conduction based solution approach. A unified model is proposed combining all variants of bioheat models Fourier's heat conduction based Pennes' bioheat model, hyperbolic heat conduction model and dual phase lag model. The proposed model takes into account the different thermophysical properties of frozen and unfrozen regions. In order to mimic the actual biotransport process, the blood perfusion and metabolic heat generation are switched off in the frozen regiopropagation as compared to Fourier based models. Pulsed laser irradiation can prove to be a very efficient technique in minimizing collateral damage during cryosurgery.
So non-Fourier bioheat transport models are better and more accurate in predicting temperature history, freezing time and freezing front propagation as compared to Fourier based models. Pulsed laser irradiation can prove to be a very efficient technique in minimizing collateral damage during cryosurgery.
Finite element models built from micro-computed tomography scans have become a powerful tool to investigate the mechanical properties of trabecular bone. There are two types of solving algorithms in the finite element method implicit and explicit. Both of these methods have been utilized to study the trabecular bone. However, an investigation comparing the results obtained using the implicit and explicit solvers is lacking. Thus, in this paper, we contrast implicit and explicit procedures by analyzing trabecular bone samples as a case study.
Micro-computed tomography-based finite element analysis of trabecular bone under a direct quasi-static compression was done using implicit and explicit methods. The differences in the predictions of mechanical properties and computational time of the two methods were studied using high-performance computing.
Our findings indicate that the results using implicit and explicit solvers are well comparable, given that similar problem set up is carefully utilized. Also, the parallel scalability of the two methods was similar, while the explicit solver performed about five times faster than the implicit method. Along with faster performance, the explicit method utilized significantly less memory for the analysis, which shows another benefit of using an explicit solver for this case study.
The comparison of the implicit and explicit methods for the simulation of trabecular bone samples should be highly valuable to the bone modeling community and researchers studying complex cellular and architectured materials.

Ageing is a complex process with physical, psychological, and social changes, which can lead to diseases and disability, and further reduce happiness levels. Virtual reality (VR) is an emerging technology with the potential to improve overall well-being, quality of life (QoL), muscle activity and balance. Our study aimed to determine the influence of VR sessions on the QoL, happiness, and functional fitness components of an elderly cohort.
A non-blinded randomized controlled trial was conducted. Sixty participants, who visited the active ageing center at the university were randomized into two groups- intervention and control. The intervention group received VR experience sessions for 15 min twice a week for a duration of 6 weeks, while the control group received no sessions. Participants filled out a questionnaire for QoL assessment and happiness assessment. link3 They were also tested for several functional fitness components. Both questionnaires and fitness tests were conducted at the beginning and at the end of study.
QoL improved by some metrics assessed (Pain/Discomfort and Anxiety/Depression). Happiness significantly improved in the intervention group relative to the control group. Among the functional fitness tests, the back scratch test 1st and back scratch test 2nd were measured to be significantly improved in the intervention group in comparison to control group.
VR sessions have potential to influence the well-being and functional fitness of older adults and further support the process of healthy and active ageing. Future considerations could focus on supporting more physical and psychological aspects of the older people through VR content.

Hyperthermia treatment is nowadays recognized as the fourth additional cancer therapy technique following surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation; it is a minimally or non-invasive technique which involves fewer complications, a shorter hospital stay, and fewer costs. In this paper, pulsating heat effects on heat transfer in a tumor tissue under hyperthermia are analyzed. The objective of the paper is to find and quantify the advantages of pulsatile heat protocols under different periodical heating schemes and for different tissue morphologies.
The tumor tissue is modeled as a porous sphere made up of a solid phase (tissue, interstitial space, etc.) and a fluid phase (blood). A Local Thermal Non-Equilibrium (LTNE) model is employed to consider the local temperature difference between the two phases. Governing equations with the appropriate boundary conditions are solved with the finite-element code COMSOL Multiphysics®. The pulsating effect is modeled with references to a cosine function with different frequencies, and such different heating protocols are compared at equal delivered energy, i.
