Developments along with issues of education in the Unified Well being Method based on teachers' experience in the spot of General public Health within Dentistry classes.
Sarcocornia perennis subsp. perennis is an edible halophyte with reported potential health benefits. To disclose the potential contribution of its polysaccharides to health benefits, in this work, hot water extracts were prepared and a holistic approach was performed, relating the simultaneous effects on different organs and molecular components administered orally, using the extract and the purified polysaccharides. The material rich in polysaccharides extracted with hot water was separated into two fractions by dialysis, allowing to obtain the pectic polysaccharides and the low molecular weight compounds. Oral administration of the extract and its fractions (120 mg/kg/day, 30 days) in mice was evaluated by histopathological analysis of liver, lymphoid (thymus and spleen) and reproductive organs (testis and epididymis). Extract and purified polysaccharides promoted a megakaryocytes increase in spleen, while low molecular weight compounds affected the reproductive organs (vacuolation and germ cells release in lumen), causing hydropic change in liver and degeneration of seminiferous tubules. This is the first study on polysaccharides from Sarcocornia. These pectic polysaccharides were shown to protect the immune and reproductive systems against toxic chemicals inducers of oxidation reactions. Their purification is a fundamental step, since the low molecular weight compounds of the edible parts may contribute to lesions in reproductive organs. α-Glucosidase and α-amylase are enzymes which are associated with diabetic II. These enzymes break macromolecules of sugar into monosugar molecules which is soluble in body, hence increase the sugar level in blood. There is need to develop economical and save inhibitors to prevent them from breaking sugar macromolecules to soluble molecules which will control the level of sugar in blood. (S)-2-Hydroxysuccinic acid nmr Therefore, we synthesized indole-based derivatives (1-18) and evaluated as dual inhibitor for α-glucosidase and α-amylase. These chemical scaffolds were built with variation in aryl ring which were found active with good to moderate activity for α-glucosidase having IC50 value ranging from 13.99 ± 0.10 to 59.09 ± 0.30 μM when compared with standard acarbose with IC50 of 11.29 ± 0.10 μM; for α-amylase IC50 value ranging from 13.14 ± 0.10 to 58.99 ± 0.30 μM when compared with the standard acarbose with IC50 of 11.12 ± 0.10 μM. Structure activity relationship (SAR) has been established for all compounds. Enzymatic kinetic study and molecular docking study have been carried out to investigate the binding interactions α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzyme. V.Oat starch is getting attention owing to its usefulness and potential in a number of food and non-food applications. Starch is by far the main component of oat grains and possesses some unique chemical, physical, and structural properties when compared with other cereal starches. Oat starch offers untypical properties such as small size of granules, well-developed granule surface and high lipid content. Variation in amylose and amylopectin proportion along with the properties associated with the amylopectin molecule makes diversity in composition of oat starch. The pasting and rheological properties of oat starches control food product quality. This review articles outlines the recent developments in understanding of the starch isolation, chemical composition, morphology, pasting, rheological and thermal characteristics and various application of oat starch. Potential applications of oat starches are also reviewed. Type I collagen is the most abundant protein of the human body. Due to its favourable properties, collagen extracted from animal tissues is adopted to manufacture a wide range of devices for biomedical applications. Compared to bovine and porcine collagens, which are the most largely used, equine collagen is free from the risk of zoonosis, has no reported immune reactions, and has not religious constraints. In this work, a recently available type I collagen extracted from horse tendon was evaluated and compared with a commercially available collagen isoform derived from the same species and tissue. Detailed physical, chemical and biological investigations were performed, in agreement with the requirements of the current standard for the characterization of type I collagen to be used for the manufacture of Tissue Engineering Medical Products. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the complete primary structure of the investigated collagen. Fully bio-based amphiphilic diblock copolymers were synthesized from hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) and amino-terminated poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) or poly(l-lactide-co-dl-lactide) (PLA) by reductive amination. The resulting HPMC-PLLA and HPMC-PLA copolymers with various hydrophobic block lengths were characterized by NMR, DOSY-NMR and FT-IR. Micelles were obtained by self-assembly of copolymers in aqueous medium. The micelles are spherical in shape, and the micelle size ranges from 150 to 180 nm with narrow distribution. The critical micelle concentration decreases with increasing PLA block length. Paclitaxel was loaded in micelles. Enhanced drug loading is obtained with increase of PLA block length. A biphasic release profile is observed with a burst of 40% followed by slower release up to 80%. MTT assay indicates the good cytocompatibility of HPMC-PLA micelles. SRB assay shows a significant cytotoxicity of paclitaxel-loaded micelles against SK-BR-3cells. It is thus concluded that bio-based HPMC-PLA block copolymers could be promising nano-carrier of anti-tumor drugs. V.Present work aimed to develop active packaging films based on chitosan (CS), poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and boswellic acid (BA), and to evaluate the effect of BA on multifunctional properties of CS/PVA (CPBA) active films. Different compositions of active packaging films were prepared by the solvent casting method. The results indicated that incorporation of BA enhanced the ultraviolet blocking, morphology, mechanical properties, water solubility and hydrophilicity of the CPBA active films. Significant improvement in the barriers properties of BA incorporated CPBA active films were observed. The microbiological screening has demonstrated the antimicrobial activity of the films against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. Furthermore, the prepared active films do not deteriorate the thermal properties after incorporation of BA. The overall migration values of the CPBA active films in contact with food simulants were within the permitted limits. The obtained results indicate that the CPBA active film may be a promising material for food packaging applications.
