The purpose of this study was to investigate the profile change of serum trace and major elements, and biochemical and hematological parameters in jennies during late pregnancy and early lactation. The study suggests a significant variation in the serum levels of mineral and biochemical parameters in late pregnant and early lactating jennies, which is valuable in estimating their physiological status and providing proper health care.Antibody response in horses after accelerated-schedule Getah virus vaccination was evaluated for its potential adoption during outbreaks. One-year-old Thoroughbred horses received two doses of priming vaccinations following an accelerated schedule (accelerated group 14-day interval, n = 30) or the conventional schedule (control group 28-day interval, n = 30). At Day 14, both groups showed similar seropositive rates (66.7% in control group and 73.3% in accelerated group) and geometric mean (GM) virus-neutralizing titers (5.2 [95% confidence interval (CI), 3.0-8.8] in control group and 5.3 [95% CI, 3.1-8.9]). This study investigates the mechanical properties of horse skin stretched by the subcutaneous implantation of anisotropic tissue expanders at the forehead, right shoulder, and dorsomedial part of the cannon region of the right forelimb in six (n = 6) horses. After 14 days of skin expansion, expanded and normal (control) skin samples were harvested and their mechanical properties of elastic modulus (EM), maximum force (MF), maximum stress (MSs) and maximum strain (MSr) were evaluated using uniaxial tension test. The expanded skin from shoulder area has higher EM, MSs, MSr and MF than the normal skin when compared to the forehead and lower forelimb. Statistically, there was a significant (P= .02) mean difference for MSs between the expanded shoulder and lower forelimb skin, but the pairwise comparison of EM, MSr and MF showed no significant difference between the locations. The overall effect of locations on EM and MSs was statistically significant (P less then .05), however, there was no overall effect of horse factor, treatment factor (normal and expanded skin) and location interaction on the EM, MSS, MF and MSr. In conclusion, the expanded skin from the frontal head and the distal limb are less elastic (stiffer) compared to that of the expanded skin of the shoulder, thus anatomical location of the skin has some degree of effect on EM and MSs.Natural products such as honey, rosemary and chamomile oils have many health benefits particularly skin regeneration. These products were previously examined individually as enhancer of skin wound healing. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and histopathological features associated with using a mixture of rosemary and chamomile oils with honey, as a composite, in healing of equine-skin wounds experimentally and clinically. For experimental and clinical evaluation 15 donkeys and 122 clinical cases were used, respectively. For the experimental part, animals were divided into five equal groups. In each animal one skin wound was created bilaterally on the back region. All left-side wounds were treated with saline. Right-side wounds were treated with one of the following treatments, gentamycin, zinc, Kruuse Manuka, Revan and the composite ointments. Each wound treated once daily until one of the wounds healed completely. wounds were evaluated grossly and histopathologically. In clinical cases, wounds were dressed with the composite once daily and monitored until healing. Experimentally induced wounds treated with the composite were healed firstly, while all other wounds were still opened. Histologically, the skin of the composite treated wounds regenerated completely and efficiently. While the skin of the other wounds, showing incomplete regeneration of epidermis and dermis. Under field condition, the composite accelerates healing of different forms of equine wounds. The tested composite induce efficient and rapid skin regeneration.
An updated systematic scoping review and narrative analysis of all possible mental health studies done during the concerned immediate years clarifies its present condition and status for all professionals, and concerned researchers.

To synthesize published mental health research studies in and for Saudi Arabia for the years 2009-2019 with the confidence to evaluate current situation, identify research gaps and limitations (if any), and assist in conceptualizing the forthcoming directions of future mental health research activities.

Scoping systematic review and modified narrative analysis were the methods utilized to achieve the aim and objective set for this formal academic endeavor.

Of the 1006 published studies identified from chosen databases, a total of 241 papers were included and had passed the stringent criteria set for the scoping review process. Basic characteristics of the reviewed studies were quantitative survey type with about 101-500 size range of respondents, utilizing non-patients andence or change from the previous years of output. To investigate the well-being at work and analyze relevant predictors of it among nurses working in psychiatric outpatient settings including following specific objectives 1) describe the current state of well-being at work among psychiatric nurses; and 2) examine how background characteristics and exposure to violence predict well-being at work.

A cross-sectional survey design.

Two-staged sampling was used to select participants from psychiatric outpatient units. Data were collected with printed Nordic Questionnaire for Monitoring the Age Diverse Workforce (QPSNordic-ADW) and Violence Incidence Assessment (VIA-Q) questionnaire from January 2019 to June 2019. Descriptive statistics were performed to summarize the collected data and binary logistic regression was used to identify predictors related to the well-being at work.

The respondents (n=181) generally evaluated well-being at work quite positively but were more critical towards interaction with their immediate superior, organizational culture, inment of psychiatric outpatient units which influence nurses' well-being at work. Identification of these can help organizations to develop management and implement interventions to increase nurses' well-being at work. Conversations about the managerial culture and collegial climate should also arise at the organizational and unit levels.Courageous Caring Conversations was designed to support faculty wellbeing and a culture of caring and civility in nursing academe. This innovative strategy involves an adaptation of Schwartz Healthcare Rounds for nursing education to establish a culture of respect and caring among nursing faculty. The process is guided by Chinn's Peace and Power process. Courageous Caring Conversations encourage faculty to discuss ethical dilemmas and challenging academic or collegial situations that occur over the course of the semester. The process begins with a shared meal offering an informal opportunity for faculty to connect and establish relatedness. Faculty then enter into a shared discussion intended to provide a venue to debrief the challenges of the semester with the goal of deepening understanding, empathy, and compassion among faculty. This practice supports the development of a healthy academic workplace where conflict is viewed as transformative and open communication and civility flourish.Our professional responsibility as nurses is to enact social justice by changing oppressive structures. However, this may be difficult with competing perspectives in healthcare environments. Deconstructing our identity is foundational if we are to understand how to develop professional relationships with peers to move forward as a collective to enact social justice. A paradigm shift, from one world view to multiplicity, will help us develop insight into our own identities and professional relationships to sustain morally habitable workplaces.Workplace violence in healthcare settings is at a crisis point. Healthcare organization have almost as many serious injuries from violence then all other industries combined (OSHA, 2013; Phillips, 2016). The costs of workplace violence have reached a crescendo provoking a response from several leading healthcare organizations including the Center for Disease Control, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Nurse Association, and the Joint Commission who have all prioritized workplace violence initiatives. To address the issues of workplace violence our hospital embarked on a systematic change to improve the physical and psychological safety of faculty and team members. A multidisciplinary curriculum team developed the Creating Safe and Healing Environment course that introduces concepts to honor the unique demand on team members as they manage the intricacies of caring for others in a hospital setting. The team revisited the complex nature of the relationships and partnerships that are formed in healthcare between the team member, patients and families. The focus of this paper is to discuss the complex issue of workplace violence and review the development of curriculum that focuses the complexities of caring for pediatric patients, introduce the concepts of healing environments and teaches the skills and knowledge needed to co-create safe and healing environments for both care providers and their patients. This paper will also highlight the how a curriculum of this type is informed by the expertise of nursing theories including revisiting Nightengale ideals and incorporating Jean Watson's "Philosophy and Science of Human Caring".
