This survey presents novel data supporting the need and feasibility of an interventional study examining exercise as an adjuvant therapy in patients with MetS and VTE.Background Quality of service and client satisfaction are crucial to increase services utilization. However, there is a paucity of data in this study area. Consequently, this study aimed to assess "Quality of Antenatal Care (ANC) and client satisfaction in Public Health Facilities". Method Facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted from March 11 to April 19, 2019. Systematic random sampling was used to select 366 women. Data were collected through the exit interview, data extraction, and observation. Result Quality of ANC was 30% (95% CI = 25-35). About 55% (95% CI = 50-60) of women were satisfied with the services. Iron/folic acid supplementation (AOR = 2.23, 95% CI;1.30-4.79), measuring weight (AOR = 3.61, 95% CI = 1.40-9.31), travel time >60 min (AOR = 4, 95% CI;2.3-8.16) and 60-120 min (AOR = 3.68, 95% CI = 1.61-8.38), and consultation time (AOR = 2.89, 95% CI = 1.14-7.31) were positively associated with client satisfaction, while health professional initiation to ask question never (AOR = 0.20, 95% CI = 0.08-0.43) and to ask sometimes (AOR = 0.32, 95% CI = 0.16-0.65) were negatively associated. Conclusion Quality of ANC was low while clients' satisfaction was moderately low. Therefore, improvement in the area of input, process, and output is recommended. This prospective longitudinal study aimed to describe the trajectories of HRQoL, health literacy, and self-efficacy in patients with esophageal cancer, which have been thus far poorly described. Data were collected at baseline (preoperative phase) and in the postoperative period (two weeks, and one, two, and three months after esophagectomy). The study hypothesis was that health literacy and self-efficacy might predict better health status and quality of life over time. Forty-five patients were enrolled between 2018 and 2019. HRQoL, health literacy, and self-efficacy were assessed using validated scales. The ability to analyze information to exert greater control over life events critically (critical health literacy) (η2 p = 0.660) and the individual's confidence in dealing with challenging tasks (self-efficacy) (η2 p = 0.501) strongly predicted the scores of general health status over time. Overall, the functional status improved at 3 months after surgery, and this trend paralleled the decline of cancer-specific and surgery-related symptoms. In conclusion, researchers and clinicians should pay greater attention to optimizing baseline health literacy and self-efficacy levels. Future educational and motivational interventions should be further tested and possibly integrated into the prehabilitation programs.Vorolanib (CM082) is a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor with a short half-life and limited tissue accumulation that has been shown to reduce choroidal neovascularization in rats. In this preclinical study, vorolanib demonstrated competitive binding and inhibitory activities with KDR, PDGFRβ, FLT3, and C-Kit, and inhibited RET and AMPKα1 more weakly than sunitinib, indicating more stringent kinase selectivity. Vorolanib inhibited vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and HUVEC tube formation in vitro. In mouse xenograft models, vorolanib inhibited tumor growth of MV-4-11, A549, 786-O, HT-29, BxPC-3, and A375 cells in a dose-dependent fashion. Complete tumor regression was achieved in the MV-4-11 xenograft model. No significant toxicities were observed in vorolanib groups, whereas a significant negative impact on body weights was observed in the sunitinib group at a dose of 40 mg/kg qd. Overall, vorolanib is a novel multi-kinase receptor inhibitor with potent preclinical anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor activity that is potentially less toxic than other similar kinase inhibitors.Speckle-type POZ protein (SPOP), a Cullin 3-based ubiquitin ligase (CUL3SPOP), acts as a prostate-specific tumor suppressor. Loss-of-function mutations in SPOP occur in 10% of primary prostate cancer with a high Gleason grade and poor prognosis. However, it is unclear how the ubiquitin ligase activity of SPOP is controlled and how dysregulation of SPOP contributes to malignant transformation. Here, we identified GTPase Activating Protein (SH3 Domain) Binding Protein 1 (G3BP1) as an interactor and upstream regulator of CUL3SPOP, and it functions as an inhibitor of CUL3SPOP ubiquitin ligase, suggesting a distinctive mode of CUL3SPOP inactivation that aggravates prostate cancer.Although senescence has been considered as an irreversible cell arrest state, accumulating evidence challenge this view. Consequently, senescence appears as an imperfect barrier to impede cancer progression, constituting a step prior to disease relapse. Therefore, cancer treatment strategies may benefit if revisited to include senolytic agents.Imatinib, a selective inhibitor of the breakpoint cluster region (BCR)-ABL kinase, is the poster child for targeted cancer therapeutics. However, its efficacy is limited by resistance mutations. Using a quantitative bioluminescence resonance energy transfer assay in living cells, we identified ABL kinase mutations that could cause imatinib resistance by altering drug residence time.We have recently reported a correlation between the accumulation of specific T > C and T > G mutations and the chromosomal instability in cells of Barrett's esophagus (BE), which represents a premalignant condition of esophageal adenocarcinoma. Additionally, we identified seven marker genes that facilitate the distinction of individual BE stages by histopathological examination.Cancer cells reprogram lipid metabolism to fuel cell division, adaptation to stress, and metastatic dissemination. NF-κB transcription factors control this mechanism in aggressive Consensus Molecular Subtype (CMS)4 of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) via triacylglycerol (TAG) lipase, carboxylesterase 1 (CES1), thereby linking obesity-associated inflammation with metabolic adaptation and cytoprotection from lipid-induced toxicity. Our findings identify a potential therapeutic route to treat patients with metastasis-prone CRC and provide an example for targeting core tumor subtype-based vulnerabilities in cancers beyond CRC.In vivo modeling combined with CRISPR/Cas9-mediated somatic genome editing has contributed to elucidating the functional importance of specific genetic alterations in human tumors. Our recent work uncovered tumor suppressor pathways that affect EGFR-driven lung tumor growth and sensitivity to tyrosine kinase inhibitors and reflect the mutational landscape and treatment outcomes in the human disease.
Direct support professionals (DSPs) play a critical role in health-related outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who reside in congregate living settings. Large behavioral healthcare organizations often rely on staff to function as peer trainers for newly hired DSPs. Organizations should adopt empirically supported training techniques to prepare peer trainers for their role and develop systems to ensure ongoing integrity of the training system. The purpose of this program description is to summarize consultation activities that attempted to create these systems.
Staff members were trained to function as peer trainers, an assessment was conducted to determine the barriers to training in the natural environment, and a systems-level intervention informed by the assessment was implemented to improve peer trainer integrity.
The assessment revealed peer trainers were often unaware when they were expected to train and did not receive feedback or programmed consequences for training newly hired DSPs. A systems-level intervention containing a prompt (reminder) about upcoming training and feedback plus a monetary incentive produced improvements in trainer integrity.
A systems-level intervention based on an assessment can improve peer trainer integrity. Ensuring peer trainer integrity increases the likelihood that newly hired DSPs will implement health-related protocols with individuals with IDD.

The FC is generally defined as a strategy that flips the traditional education setting, i.e., the information transmission component of a traditional face-to-face lecture is moved out of class time. The FC relies on technology and is therefore suitable for online or blended learning, which were predominant forms of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic (March 2020-July 2021). In this paper we present a systematic literature review (SLR) of studies that covered online FC approaches in higher education during the pandemic. We analyzed 205 publications in total and 18 in detail. Our research questions were related to the main findings about the success of implementation of online FC and recommendations for future research. The findings indicated that those who had used FC approaches in face-to-face or blended learning environments more successfully continued to use them in online environments than those who had not used it before. The SLR opened possible questions for future research, such as the effectiveness of the FC for different courses and contexts, the cognitive and emotional aspects of student engagement, and students' data protection. It pointed to the need to examine different aspects of online delivery of the FC more comprehensively, and with more research rigor. An explosion of the ammonium nitrate (AN) stored at Beirut Port devastated the city on Tuesday 4 August 2020. Such an explosion produces pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NO x ). The most common NO x is nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which is present in the atmosphere due to natural and anthropogenic processes. The presence of NO2 is used as indicator of air pollution. However, the specific contribution of NO2 to air quality is uncertain due to the presence of other constituents, especially particulate matter (PM10). Research has shown that extended exposure to NO2 may result in serious health effects. This study investigated the impact of the explosion on NO2 levels in the atmosphere above Beirut and the surrounding area. NO2 data from the Sentinel-5P program were used to map the levels of NO2. Furthermore, ground-monitoring data were used to assess the levels of PM10 and ozone (O3) due to the evident association between these constituents and NO2. Results showed that NO2 levels were higher than before the blast. However, 7 days after the explosion, NO2 levels had returned to normal, while the levels of PM10 and O3 remained normal following the explosion. However, a slight increase in the daily average atmospheric pressure was noticed after the explosion, which was attributed to the decomposition of ammonium nitrate.
