In addition, the baseline conditions of mother and neonates were compared.EBL was significantly higher in the IIA group compared to the control group (2883.5 mL in the IIA group vs 1868.7 mL in the control group, P = .001). Overall, the donor blood transfusion rate was 23.5% (8/34), averaging 4.2 U, in the IIA group versus 30% (9/30), averaging 3.4 U, in the control group, which were not significantly different. The FFP transfusion rate was 47%, averaging 765.6 mL, in the IIA group versus 20%, averaging 816.7 mL, in the control group. In the IIA group, 97.1% used cell savage and had salvaged blood returned, averaging 954.9 mL. In the control group, 90% had salvaged blood returned, averaging 617.9 mL. No cases of amniotic fluid embolism were observed with leukocyte depletion filters.Prophylactic IIA BO during PTUI CS in women with PPP and PA does not lead to a statistically significant reduction in EBL. #link# Cell salvage was associated with a reduction in the rate of donor blood transfusion during PTUI CS.
Superb microvascular imaging (SMI) is a novel Doppler technique that depicts low velocity blood flow without the use of a contrast agent. Studies suggested that SMI may or may not detect neovascularization of carotid plaque with accuracy comparable to contrast-enhanced ultrasound. To gain clarity, a meta-analysis to systematically review and synthesize relevant data on the SMI for the detection of intraplaque neovascularization was undertaken.
We will search PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Chinese biomedical databases from their inceptions to the June 31, 2020, without language restrictions. Two authors will independently carry out searching literature records, scanning titles and abstracts, full texts, collecting data, and assessing risk of bias. Review Manager 5.2 and Stata14.0 software will be used for data analysis.
This systematic review will investigate whether SMI is feasible on the detection of intraplaque neovascularization compared with contrast-enhanced ultrasound.
Its findings will provide helpful evidence for the feasibility of SMI on the detection of intraplaque neovascularization.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) characterized by a relapsing-remitting course owing to recurrent intestinal inflammation. UC often has symptoms such as intermittent rectal bleeding, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. As the precise etiology of UC has not completely clarified, UC has become a public health challenge worldwide. According to an epidemiological survey, there were about 350,000 new cases of IBD in China from 2005 to 2014. By 2025, the number of IBD patients in China will reach 1.5 million. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been widely used to treat UC in China, however, it is still challenging to systematically determine the efficacy of in UC. Therefore, this trial aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of CHM in the treatment of mild active UC patients.
A multi-center, double-blinding, double-dummy, active-controlled, randomized trial will be established. A total of 240 patients in 6 centers with mild active UC (Mayo score is 3-5 points) and TChe efficacy and safety of HEC for treatment of mild active UC and preliminarily show the potential mechanism of how HEC acts. Finally, it will widen treatment options for patients with mild active UC.
The results of this trial will provide compelling evidence of the efficacy and safety of HEC for treatment of mild active UC and preliminarily show the potential mechanism of how HEC acts. Finally, it will widen treatment options for patients with mild active UC.The function of miR-9 in osteosarcoma is not well-investigated and controversial. Therefore, we conducted meta-analysis to explore the role of miR-9 in osteosarcoma, and collected relevant TCGA data to further testify the result. In addition, bioinformatics analysis was conducted to investigate the mechanism and related pathways of miR-9-3p in osteosarcoma.Literature search was operated on databases up to February 19, 2020, including PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Wiley Online Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine disc, Chongqing VIP, and Wan Fang Data. The relation of miR-9 expression with survival outcome was estimated by hazard ratio (HRs) and 95% CIs. Meta-analysis was conducted on the Stata 12.0 (Stata Corporation, TX). To further assess the function of miR-9 in osteosarcoma, relevant data from the TCGA database was collected. link2 Three databases, miRDB, miRPathDB 2.0, and Targetscan 7.2, were used for prediction alized, revealing 117 nodes and 161 edges.High miR-9 expression was associated with poor prognosis. Based on bioinformatics analysis, this study enhanced the understanding of the mechanism and related pathways of miR-9 in osteosarcoma.Allogeneic red blood cell transfusion (ABT) is 1 of the poor prognostic factors for morbidity and mortality in patients with hip fracture, particularly among elderly patients. This study aimed to investigate the risk factors for ABT and 1-year mortality in elderly patients undergoing surgery for femoral neck fracture.A total of 225 elderly patients who underwent femoral neck fracture surgery between May 2013 and November 2015 at a tertiary medical center were retrospectively recruited. Medical records were analyzed. The median patient age was 80 years and 28.4% were men. A total of 113 patients received ABT (50.2%). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that female sex (odds ratio [OR] 2.606, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.283-5.295, P = .008), malignancy (OR 5.098, 95% CI 1.725-15.061, P = .003), chronic kidney disease stage ≥ 3 (OR 3.258, 95% CI 1.603-6.622, P = .001), and anemia (hemoglobin less then 12 g/dL) (OR 4.684, 95% CI 2.230-9.837, P less then .001) were significantly associated with ABT. The 1-year mortality rate after surgery was 15.1%. Male sex (OR 2.477, 95% CI 1.101-5.575, P = .028), ABT (OR 2.367, 95% CI 1.036-5.410, P = .041), and intensive care unit admission (OR 5.564, 95% CI 1.457-21.249, P = .012) were significantly associated with 1-year mortality. In this study, underlying comorbidities such as chronic kidney disease and malignancy were associated with ABT. Furthermore, ABT was a significant independent risk factor for 1-year mortality. These findings suggest that underlying comorbidities and the need for ABT should be considered in the risk assessment of elderly patients with femoral neck fracture to improve the outcomes after surgery.MicroRNAs (miRNAs) refers to a small, short non-coding RNA of endogenous class. They have shown to have an increasingly altered expression in many types of cancer, including colorectal cancer (CRC).In the present study, miRNA TaqManMGB and qRT-PCR was used to quantify the expression and clinical significance of 3 mature human miRNA in 82 pairs of colorectal adenocarcinoma tissues and normal adjacent tissue samples (NATS) collected from patients of the south-east part of Romania. Differences between CRC and NATS were analyzed using Wilcoxon test, while correlations between miRNAs expression levels and clinicopathological features were examined using non-parametric tests. In addition, the ability of selected miRNAs to function as biomarkers and, as potential indicators in CRC prognosis was also examined. When the miRNA expression was compared in CRC related NATS, miR-143, and miR-145 were significantly underexpressed (4.99 ± -1.02 vs -5.66 ± -1.66, P less then .001; -4.85 ± -0.59 vs -9.27 ± -1.51, P less thenrognostic tools in patients with CRC from Romania. To analyze the relationship between aortic measures and biometric parameters in a large cohort of consecutive patients undergoing computed tomography coronary angiography.1170 patients (717 men/453 women) performing computed tomography coronary angiography for coronary evaluation were retrospectively evaluated. Aortic diameters and areas were measured at reproducible anatomic landmarks, perpendicular to the axis of vessel, at the level of the aortic root (AoR), the sinotubular junction (STJ), and the tubular ascending aorta (TAo). Biometric parameters and cardiovascular risk factors were recorded. The average values of AoR, STJ, and TAo were 35.63 ± 5.00 mm, 30.56 ± 4.82 mm, 35.07 ± 5.84 mm. Hypertension was significantly associated with aortic dimensions.Aortic measures were significantly different between men and women (37.56 ± 4.77 mm vs 32.58 ± 3.68 mm for AoR, 31.88 ± 4.84 mm vs 28.47 ± 3.98 mm for STJ and 35.93 ± 5.86 mm vs 33.70 ± 5.54 mm for TAo) (P less then .001) and linearly increased with age. Low Spearman correlation coefficients were found and the correlation of TAo diameters with age displayed the highest values (ρ = 0.372 for male and ρ = 0.373 for female, P less then .001). GW441756 concentration were compared by R. The best model used body surface area (BSA) and age as independent variables and TAo diameter as dependent variable (R = 0.29 for AoR; R = 0.21 for STJ, and R = 0.20 for TAo).In conclusion, in our population low correlation between aortic dimensions and biometric parameters highlights the difficulty of identifying normal ranges, as well as issues related to normalization using conventional biometric parameters.Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a prototypic autoimmune disease with considerable genetic predisposition. Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) is crucial for the innate immunity and implicated in SLE pathogenesis. Accordingly, we conducted a case-control study to find the association of NLRP3 variations with SLE susceptibility and disease activity.Three single nucleotide polymorphisms of NLRP3 (rs3806268, rs4612666, and rs10754558) were genotyped in 400 SLE patients and 400 healthy controls; the patients were further divided into mild-to-moderate or high disease activity subgroup. Serum cytokines, complements, and autoantibodies were also detected. We found that rs4612666 TT genotype conferred a higher risk of severe disease activity with adjusted odds ratio = 2.08, P = .02 and adjusted odds ratio = 2.34, P = .01 in the codominant and recessive model, respectively. Nevertheless, there was no association between the 3 single nucleotide polymorphisms of NLRP3 gene and SLE susceptibility. In addition, C4 decreased significantly in rs3806268 GG (P less then .001) and rs4612666 TT genotype carriers (P = .03). A higher trend of interleukin-1β and interleukin-γ release were identified in rs3806268 AA and rs10754558 CC genotype carriers, respectively.NLRP3 polymorphisms are associated with SLE disease activity and hypocomplementemia. Interleukin-1β and interleukin-γ levels in SLE patients are correlated with NLRP3 variants as well.
