Kids under 12 should not be given their own phone or device. Despite people
arguing that it's for their safety and to give them the ability to call for help in
case of emergency, I believe the risk and negative effects far outweigh it's benefits.
For one, kids under 12 should and are often supervised by adults. I can understand
If it's at the age where children starts to explore and possibly hide or not tell their
whereabouts like teens or young adult, but risking children to being expose on the internet and It's unpredictable
nature could lead to risks such as cyberbullying, stalking, and receiving inappropriate contents.
In addition, It could also influence their development and growth. For example, phones could hinder their problem
solving ability and just depend on their devices. It could also teach children bad habits and attitude like raging or
inappropriately answering adults which they may got from the internet. Although phones could affect a children positively, these risks are more than
enough to lead me to believe that phones should be handed over at a more reasonable age
where they know to be responsible and mature.
2.
English should be taught along with the children's mother tongue because as they grow up, It will benefit them
academically, professionally, and overall improve their quality of life. There are students and even adult with jobs or subjects
that require knowledge about our universal language. Letting children learn English even in simple ways such as introducing your children
to international cartoons or music could help them familiarize with the language.
Students and some work field requires knowledge on the English language yet some people have a hard time understanding it or make a lot of grammatical errors
and have difficulties communicating, thus leading to misunderstandings and possibly being labeled incompetent on their job or grade level. I believe people doesn't
address this enough and some just shrug it off even though It affects our future greatly.
3.
People should learn to respect dress codes. Not to strip them of their rights but because your outfit depending
on your setting, could reflect your professionalism, especially on jobs and formal events. Yes there are people
that fights for their rights and how you shouldn't let others decide what you should and should not wear. I also
agree to that, but some takes it too far which could lead to those surrounding them to feel disrespected or offended.
I'm not saying you shouldn't wear these clothes or that clothes, I'm stating that a person should
still be mindful of the setting or the context of the event or place their going to. A good example is a funeral or a
job interview. Attending a funeral wearing a shirt with inappropriate slogans or prints could be disrespecful. Some funerals
also asks for darker clothing, so wearing bright outfits will surely offend others. In job interviews, wearing short, revealing clothes
could indicate unprofessionalism and immature which may lead the interviewer to discriminate you just based on your outfit.
