The study examined how teachers and children with emotional and behavioral disturbances engage in dialogues about children's emotional experiences. Dialogues about emotions are an important strategy for teachers to co-regulate children's emotions but have remained understudied.
This study aimed to explore whether the Autobiographical Emotional Events Dialogue (AEED) can help to assess the quality of teacher-child emotion dialogues about past emotional events and examined associations with child behavior and teacher-child relationship quality.
The sample included 85 children and 70 teachers from special education schools serving children with emotional and behavioral disturbances. Teacher-child dialogues were videotaped and coded using the 16 rating scales of the AEED coding system (Koren-Karie, Oppenheim, Carasso, & Haimovich, 2003).
The scales (except child boundary dissolution) could be reliably assessed. A Principal Component Analysis yielded 4 factors Adequate task completion (coherent dialogues and positive child task behavior), Negativity (hostility and teacher boundary dissolution), Teacher Guidance (involvement, structuring, and acceptance), and Resolution (positive closure of negative stories). Child age, verbal intelligence, prosocial behavior, and higher teacher-child relationship scores (higher closeness, lower conflict) were positively associated with the quality of the dialogues but behavior problems were not.

The aim of this study is to describe the relationship between executive function (EF) and performance in different areas of the neurocognitive profile in young girls with Fragile-X-Syndrome (FXS).
A neuropsychological assessment was carried out to 40 female participants aged 7-16 years (26 FXS, 14 control group).
Regarding intellectual ability, in the group of girls with FXS 3.84 % of the participants obtained IQ scores in the range of moderate ID (IQ 35-40 to 49), 46.15 % in the range of mild ID (IQ 50-70), 38.46 % in the borderline range (IQ 70-85), and 11.53 % within the average range (IQ > 85). EF was found to have a greater influence on adaptive behavior, arithmetic ability, theory of mind, leadership, social integration, social competence, and anxiety/shyness in the group with FXS.

Preclinical and retrospective studies suggest that beta-blockers are active against breast cancer. We carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the impact of beta-blockers on the outcomes of patients with early-stage breast cancer.
A systematic literature search was performed to identify studies comparing outcomes of patients with early-stage breast cancer according to beta-blocker use (yes versus no). The primary endpoint was recurrence-free survival (RFS), defined as the occurrence of breast cancer recurrence or death. Secondary objectives were pathologic complete response (pCR), breast cancer recurrence, breast cancer-specific mortality and overall survival (OS). Hazard ratios (HRs) or odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were extracted from each study and a pooled analysis with the random-effect model was conducted. The Higgins' I-squared test was used to quantify heterogeneity. Egger's test was applied to assess publication bias. All P values were two-sided and consied in prospective studies for patients with early-stage breast cancer.

ALAN can have a suite of effects on community structure and is a driver of evolutionary processes that influences a range of behavioral and physiological traits. Our understanding of possible effects of ALAN across species amphibians is lacking and research is warranted as ALAN could contribute to stress and declines of amphibian populations, particularly in urban areas. We tested the hypothesis that exposure to constant light or pulsed ALAN would physiologically stress Rio Grande leopard frog (Rana berlandieri) and Gulf Coast toad (Bufo valliceps) tadpoles. Firsocostat in vitro We reared tadpoles under constant or pulsed (on and off again) ALAN for 14 days and measured corticosterone release rates over time using a non-invasive water-borne hormone protocol. ALAN treatments did not affect behavior or growth. Tadpoles of both species had higher corticosterone (cort) release rates after 14 days of constant light exposure. Leopard frog tadpoles had lower cort release rates after exposure to pulsed ALAN while toad tadpoles had higher cort release rates. These results suggest that short-term exposure to constant or pulsed light at night may contribute to stress in tadpoles but that each species differentially modulated their cort response to ALAN exposure and a subsequent stressor. This flexibility in the upregulation and downregulation of hypothalamic-pituitary-interrenal axis response may indicate an alternative mechanism for diminishing the deleterious effects of chronic stress. Nonetheless, ALAN should be considered in management and conservation plans for amphibians.Since the urbanization and industrialization are wildly spread in recent decades, the concentration of Zn in soil has increased in various regions. Although the interactions between P and Zn has long been recognized, the effect of high level of Zn on P uptake, translocation and distribution in rice and its molecular mechanism are not fully understood. In this study, we conducted both hydroponic culture and field trial with different combined applications of P and Zn to analyze the rice growth and yield, the uptake, translocation and distribution of P and Zn, as well as the P- and Zn-related gene expression levels. Our results showed that high level of Zn decreased the rice biomass and yield production, and inhibited the root-to-shoot translocation and distribution of P into new leaves by down-regulating P transporter genes OsPT2 and OsPT8 in shoot, which was controlled by OsPHR2-OsmiR399-OsPHO2 module. High Zn supply triggered P starvation signal in root, thereafter increased the activities of both root-endogenous and -secreted acid phosphatase to release more Pi, and induced the expression OsPT2 and OsPT8 to uptake more P for plant growth. On the other hand, high level of P significantly decreased the Zn concentrations in both root and shoot, and the root uptake ability of Zn through altering the expression levels of OsZIPs, which were further confirmed by the P high-accumulated mutant osnla1-2 and OsPHR2-OE transgenic plant. Taken together, we revealed the physiological and molecular mechanisms of P-Zn interactions, and proposed a working model of the cross-talk between P and Zn in rice plants. Our results also indicated that appropriate application of P fertilizer is an effective strategy to reduce rice uptake of excessive Zn when grown in Zn-contaminated soil.Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and ozone (O3) air pollution can cause abnormal changes in blood pressure (BP), blood glucose and lipids, which are important indicators for cardiovascular health. Psychosocial stress could be a potential effect modifier for adverse health effects of air pollution, but research evidence is scarce. A cross-sectional study with 373 elderly subjects was conducted in Beijing during 2018-2019. We collected psychosocial stress information on anxiety, perceived stress and depression, obtained daily environmental data, measured resting BP, blood glucose and lipids in study participants, and analyzed the associations of PM2.5 or O3 with cardiovascular health indicators and the modification effect by psychosocial stress. Results showed that PM2.5 was significantly associated with increased systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and pulse pressure (PP) ; and O3 was significantly associated with elevated DBP, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and total triglyceride (TG). In conclusion, our results indicated that short-term exposures to PM2.5 and O3 were associated with significant changes in BP, blood glucose and lipids, and psychosocial stress may increase the susceptibility of the participants to the adverse cardiovascular effects of PM2.5 and O3.Powder adsorbents show an excellent adsorption capacity for arsenic(As) due to the large specific surface area. However, the performance of powder adsorbents decreases significantly by channeling in the adsorption bed, and the powder is released from the bed. Pelletization of power adsorbent can solve the problems, and bentonite was proposed as a binder to improve the strength. The adsorption capacity and lifetime of pelletized adsorbent were evaluated through a batch and column study. The addition of bentonite decreased adsorption capacity by 16% of pellet without bentonite, but improved compressive strength of adsorbent up to 3.6 times. In the batch test, the maximum adsorption capacity of pelletized adsorbent is 22.2 mg As/g, which is about 40% of powder adsorbent. However, in the column study, pellet adsorbent showed similar adsorption performance and lifetime to commercial and powder adsorbent. As a result, the pellet adsorbent using bentonite is a potential low-cost adsorbent to remove effectively As in the aqueous phase.The applicability of generative adversarial networks (GANs) capable of unsupervised anomaly detection (AnoGAN) was investigated in the management of quality of 1H-MRS human brain spectra at 3.0 T. The AnoGAN was trained in an unsupervised manner solely on simulated normal brain spectra and used for filtering out abnormal spectra with a broad range of abnormalities, which were simulated by including abnormal ranges of SNR, linewidth and metabolite concentrations and spectral artifacts such as ghost, residual water, and lipid. The AnoGAN was able to filter out those spectra with SNR less than ~11-12 dB with an accuracy of ~80% or higher (assuming a normal SNR range to be 15-18 dB). It also detected with an accuracy of ~80% or higher those spectra, in which NAA levels were reduced by ~25-30% or more from the lower bound and elevated by ~20-30% or more from the upper bound of the normal concentration range (7.5-17 mmol/L), while the concentrations of the rest of the metabolites were all within the normal ranges. Despite the fact that those spectra contaminated with ghost, residual water or lipid have never been involved in the training or optimization of the AnoGAN, they were correctly classified as abnormal regardless of the types of the artifacts, depending solely on their intensity. Although the current version of our AnoGAN requires further technical improvement particularly for the detection of linewidth-associated abnormality and validation on in vivo data, our unsupervised deep learning-based approach could be an option in addition to those previously reported supervised deep learning-based approaches in the binary classification of spectral quality with an extended abnormal spectra regime.
