g hepatocyte lipid metabolic pathways via the CaMKKβ-AMPK signaling pathway.
Promoting exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is a major child survival strategy in developing countries like Ethiopia. Studies in EBF are found in a fragmented and inconclusive way in Ethiopia. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine evidences on the effect of post natal care counseling and maternal employment status on exclusive breastfeeding practice of women in Ethiopia.
A systematic literature search was conducted from PubMed (contains MEDLINE), CINAHL (EBSCO), Global Health, Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) (EBSCO) and Grey literature sources such as Google and Google scholar. All primary studies on the effects of employment status and/or post-natal care utilization on EBF practices of women in Ethiopia were included. Data analyses were performed using STATA software. Forest plot, I
test and the Cochrane Q statistics were used to detect heterogeneity among studies. Heterogeneity was considered significant when the I
value was ≥ 50%, with p-value < 0.05. Publication bias was checw may be used to inform for better supportive and promotive strategies for EBF practice in Ethiopia.
This review found that post-natal care service utilization and maternal employment status has a significant effect on EBF practice. The findings from this review may be used to inform for better supportive and promotive strategies for EBF practice in Ethiopia.
The Russian Federation has introduced a vertical large-scale program of 'dispensarization' (Program) that includes health check-ups and screenings for the entire adult population. It is expected to improve the results of medical interventions and ensure health gains at a relatively low cost. The major research question Does the design and implementation of the program meet the expectations?
We analyze regulatory acts and the literature on the design and the outcomes of the Program. Physicians' surveys and interviews are conducted to understand the capacity of primary care providers to meet the requirements of the Program, as well as the link between the early identification of new illnesses and their follow-up management, administration of the program, the barriers to its successful implementation.
There is a substantial progress in the coverage of the population and increase in the number of identified illnesses. Some specific instruments of the Program implementation work well, others require more car lesson learnt is that the program like this should meet the capacity of primary care and be designed as a complex of interrelated activities to identify illnesses and provide their follow-up management.
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease that typically affects multiple organs and can lead to potentially fatal complications. Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in SLE is common, especially in children, and can present nonspecifically with various neuropsychiatric manifestations, described as neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE). Chronic headache is a common feature of NPSLE, secondary to increased intracranial pressure (also called pseudotumor cerebri (PTC)) due to inflammation or medication. Here, we highlight the importance of evaluating refractory headache (HA) in SLE patients to rule out PTC as a cause of severe morbidity.
Single tertiary care pediatric center case series of 8 children who developed NPSLE in the form of intracranial hypertension at or after SLE diagnosis.
Neurologic and ophthalmologic evaluation of refractory HA in patients with SLE, especially children, is warranted to decrease the burden of the disease and rule out treatable causes like PTC.

Despite recent advances in radiotherapy, radioresistance in patients with pancreatic cancer remains a crucial dilemma for clinical treatment. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) represent a major factor in radioresistance. Developing a potent radiosensitizer may be a novel candidate for the eradication of pancreatic CSCs.
CSCs were isolated from MIA PaCa-2 and PANC1 human pancreatic cancer cell lines. Titanium peroxide nanoparticles (TiOxNPs) were synthesized from titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO
NPs) and utilized as radiosensitizers when added one hour prior to radiation exposure. The antitumor activity of this novel therapeutic strategy was evaluated against well-established pancreatic CSCs model both in vitro and in vivo.
It is shown that TiOxNPs combined with ionizing radiation exhibit anti-cancer effects on radioresistant CSCs both in vitro and in vivo. TiOxNPs exhibited a synergistic effect with radiation on pancreatic CSC-enriched spheres by downregulating self-renewal regulatory factors and CSC surface markers. Moreover, combined treatment suppressed epithelial-mesenchymal transition, migration, and invasion properties in primary and aggressive pancreatic cancer cells by reducing the expression of proteins relevant to these processes. Notably, radiosensitizing TiOxNPs suppressed the growth of pancreatic xenografts following primary or dissociating sphere MIA PaCa-2 cell implantation. It is inferred that synergy is formed by generating intolerable levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inactivating the AKT signaling pathway.
Our data suggested the use of TiOxNPs in combination with radiation may be considered an attractive therapeutic strategy to eliminate pancreatic CSCs.

Metabolic remodelling, as a biochemical fingerprint of cancer cells, causes abnormal metabolite accumulation. These metabolites mainly generate energy or serve as signal transduction mediators via noncovalent interactions. After the development of highly sensitive mass spectrometry technology, various metabolites were shown to covalently modify proteins via forms of lysine acylation, including lysine acetylation, crotonylation, lactylation, succinylation, propionylation, butyrylation, malonylation, glutarylation, 2-hydroxyisobutyrylation and β-hydroxybutyrylation. These modifications can regulate gene expression and intracellular signalling pathways, highlighting the extensive roles of metabolites. Lysine acetylation is not discussed in detail in this review since it has been broadly investigated. We focus on the nine aforementioned novel lysine acylations beyond acetylation, which can be classified into two categories histone acylations and nonhistone acylations. We summarize the characteristics and common functions of these acylation types and, most importantly, provide a glimpse into their fine-tuned control of tumorigenesis and potential value in tumour diagnosis, monitoring and therapy.
Hemicellulose is one of the copious polymer in lignocellulosic biomass (LCB). It is primarily composed of xylan linked by β-1,4 glycosidic bonds. selleck products Xylanase preferentially cleaves the β-1,4-glycosidic bonds in the xylan backbone resulting in complete hydrolysis of the biomass. Thermostable variants of glycoside hydrolases act as robust catalysts, not only in degradation but also during processing, to obtain specific carbohydrate-containing chemicals and materials (Ramasamy et al. in Madras Agric J 107(special)1. https//doi.org/10.29321/MAJ.2020.000382 , 2020).
The xylanase production by two thermophilic bacteria isolated from thermal springs was evaluated. In addition, the gene encoding this industrially vital enzyme was isolated and characterized, and its protein structure was analyzed. The thermophilic bacteria producing xylanases were isolated from augmented sawdust and banana fiber biomass from hot springs of Himachal Pradesh and identified as Bacillus subtilis VSDB5 and Bacillus licheniformis KBFB4 usiding suggested that the protein is thermostable. Multiple sequence alignment and homology modeling of the protein sequence revealed that the gene product belonged to the GH11 family, indicating its possible application in bioconversion.
The strains B. subtilis VSDB5 and B. licheniformis KBFB4 obtained from hot springs of Himachal Pradesh produced potent and alkali-tolerant thermostable xylanases, which belong to the GH11 family. The enzyme can be supplemented in industrial applications for biomass conversion at high temperatures and pH (or in processes involving alkali treatment).

Lymphoid interstitial pneumonia (LIP) is a very rare disease and its malignant transformation is even more rare. LIP is easily misdiagnosed by clinicians and radiologists.
The medical record of a 64-year-old female with Sjogren's syndrome was reviewed. The clinical and pathological data along with chest CT images were obtained. The literature related to the transformation was reviewed. There were no specific clinical manifestations of LIP and its transformation into malignant lymphoma in the patient. The chest CT mainly displayed multiple cystic foci, with multiple nodules and ground-glass shadows in both lungs.
Malignant transformation to lymphoma is suspected with findings of large nodules (> 11mm) or their sizes doubly increased, pleural effusion and alveolar consolidation.

Doctors treating COVID-19 are under extreme stress. It was reported that healthcare workers providing palliative care could present elevated levels of compassion fatigue. We herein report a case if the attending doctor of severe COVID-19 cases who felt extreme psychological difficulty and suffered from compassion fatigue.
A 29-year-old female doctor presented with anxiety and insomnia. Her stress from overwork was exacerbated during the treatment of two related COVID-19 patients, a 47-year-old man with COVID-19 and his 76-year-old mother, who suffered acute stress disorder after the death of her son. The mother first refused treatment, but with psychiatric intervention she was able to recover and be discharged. In the course of these cases of COVID-19, their attending physician felt psychological distress and presented with insomnia and anticipatory anxiety due to the poor prognosis of the mother. After being presented with a systematic approach to improve her work situation by the hospital executive staff and undergoing psychotherapy for compassion fatigue, she recovered and was able to return to work.
We report a physician in charge of severe cases of COVID-19, who suffered an adverse impact on her mental health. Excessively empathic engagement in the care of patients who do not survive and their relatives provides high risk for compassion fatigue. The stress-related distress of HCWs should be more widely recognized in order to improve support systems for them.
