Moreover, the stylus also allows simultaneous digitisation of handwritten information on the paper when the paper is placed on the tablet screen. In order to evaluate the concept, we also add a user-friendly manual alignment of paper position on the underlying tablet computer The evaluation demonstrates that the system achieves almost perfect digitisation of strokes (98.6% of strokes were correctly registered with only 1.2% of ghost strokes) whilst maintaining excellent user experience of writing with a pencil on the paper. The electric bicycle-sharing system (EBSS) is the fourth-generation urban shared bicycle travel system, which effectively improves the travel efficiency of urban residents and solve the problem of urban congestion. This study attempts to use an extended technology acceptance model (TAM) method to study the acceptance of EBSSs. We had introduced four potential variables, including perceived pleasure (PP), perceived environmental value (PEV), perceived cost (PC), and perceived reliability (PR), into the classic TAM to form a new EBSS-TAM. Data were obtained by using a Likert scale questionnaire from 399 citizens in China. Partial least-squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with reflective constructs was employed as the analysis method. The results showed that (1) the EBSS-TAM can explain user behaviors regarding the use of EBSSs. PP has a positive impact on behavior attitude (BA) while having no impact on behavior intention (BI). MC3 in vivo PEV has no impact on BA and BI. PC has a negative impact on BA and has no impact on BI. PR has a positive impact on BA while having no impact on BI. Perceived ease of use (PEU) has a positive impact on PP and PEV. (2) Younger users (under 35 years old) are more likely to change from liking CBSSs to using EBSSs than older users are. Male users are more satisfied with EBSSs because of their ease of use. The users who never used CBSSs are more likely to perceive the environmental protection value of EBSSs. Some managerial implications were proposed for the EBSSs.High-definition (HD) mapping is a promising approach to realize highly automated driving (AD). Although HD maps can be applied to all levels of autonomy, their use is particularly beneficial for autonomy levels 4 or higher. HD maps enable AD systems to see beyond the field of view of conventional sensors, thereby providing accurate and detailed information regarding a driving environment. An HD map is typically separated into a pointcloud map for localization and a vector map for path planning. In this paper, we introduce two separate but successive HD map generation workflows. Of the several stages involved, the registration and mapping processes are essential for creating the pointcloud and vector maps, respectively. To facilitate the readers' understanding, the processes of these two stages have been recorded and uploaded online. HD maps are typically generated using open-source software (OSS) tools. CloudCompare and ASSURE, as representative tools, are used in this study. The generated HD maps are validated with localization and path-planning modules in Autoware, which is also an OSS stack for AD systems. The generated HD maps enable environmental-monitoring vehicles to successfully operate at level 4 autonomy.Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an important remote sensing sensor whose application is becoming more and more extensive. Compared with traditional optical sensors, it is not easy to be disturbed by the external environment and has a strong penetration. Limited by its working principles, SAR images are not easily interpreted, and fusing SAR images with optical multispectral images is a good solution to improve the interpretability of SAR images. This paper presents a novel image fusion method based on non-subsampled shearlet transform and activity measure to fuse SAR images with multispectral images, whose aim is to improve the interpretation ability of SAR images easily obtained at any time, rather than producing a fused image containing more information, which is the pursuit of previous fusion methods. Three different sensors, together with different working frequencies, polarization modes and spatial resolution SAR datasets, are used to evaluate the proposed method. Both visual evaluation and statistical analysis are performed, the results show that satisfactory fusion results are achieved through the proposed method and the interpretation ability of SAR images is effectively improved compared with the previous methods.Intermittent manual measurement of vital signs may not rapidly predict sepsis development in febrile patients admitted to the emergency department (ED). We aimed to evaluate the predictive performance of a wireless monitoring device that continuously measures heart rate (HR) and respiratory rate (RR) and a machine learning analysis in febrile but stable patients in the ED. We analysed 468 patients (age, ≥18 years; training set, n = 277; validation set, n = 93; test set, n = 98) having fever (temperature >38 °C) and admitted to the isolation care unit of the ED. The AUROC of the fragmented model with device data was 0.858 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.809-0.908), and that with manual data was 0.841 (95% CI, 0.789-0.893). The AUROC of the accumulated model with device data was 0.861 (95% CI, 0.811-0.910), and that with manual data was 0.853 (95% CI, 0.803-0.903). Fragmented and accumulated models with device data detected clinical deterioration in febrile patients at risk of septic shock 9 h and 5 h 30 min earlier, respectively, than those with manual data. Continuous vital sign monitoring using a wearable device could accurately predict clinical deterioration and reduce the time to recognise potential clinical deterioration in stable ED patients with fever. This paper proposes a photoelectric target detection algorithm for NVIDIA Jeston Nano embedded devices, exploiting the characteristics of active and passive differential images of lasers after denoising. An adaptive threshold segmentation method was developed based on the statistical characteristics of photoelectric target echo light intensity, which effectively improves detection of the target area. The proposed method's effectiveness is compared and analyzed against a typical lightweight network that was knowledge-distilled by ResNet18 on target region detection tasks. Furthermore, TensorRT technology was applied to accelerate inference and deploy on hardware platforms the lightweight network Shuffv2_x0_5. The experimental results demonstrate that the developed method's accuracy rate reaches 97.15%, the false alarm rate is 4.87%, and the detection rate can reach 29 frames per second for an image resolution of 640 × 480 pixels.Vehicle tailgating or simply tailgating is a hazardous driving habit. Tailgating occurs when a vehicle moves very close behind another one while not leaving adequate separation distance in case the vehicle in front stops unexpectedly; this separation distance is technically called "Assured Clear Distance Ahead" (ACDA) or Safe Driving Distance. Advancements in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) have made it of tremendous significance to have an intelligent approach for connected vehicles to avoid tailgating; this paper proposes a new Internet of Vehicles (IoV) based technique that enables connected vehicles to determine ACDA or Safe Driving Distance and Safe Driving Speed to avoid a forward collision. The technique assumes two cases In the first case, the vehicle has Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system, while in the second case, the vehicle has no AEB. Safe Driving Distance and Safe Driving Speed are calculated under several variables. Experimental results show that Safe Driving Distance and Safe Driving Speed depend on several parameters such as weight of the vehicle, tires status, length of the vehicle, speed of the vehicle, type of road (snowy asphalt, wet asphalt, or dry asphalt or icy road) and the weather condition (clear or foggy). The study found that the technique is effective in calculating Safe Driving Distance, thereby resulting in forward collision avoidance by connected vehicles and maximizing road utilization by dynamically enforcing the minimum required safe separating gap as a function of the current values of the affecting parameters, including the speed of the surrounding vehicles, the road condition, and the weather condition. In IoT networks, the de facto Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) is vulnerable to various attacks. Routing attacks in RPL-based IoT are becoming critical with the increase in the number of IoT applications and devices globally. To address routing attacks in RPL-based IoT, several security solutions have been proposed in literature, such as machine learning techniques, intrusion detection systems, and trust-based approaches. Studies show that trust-based security for IoT is feasible due to its simple integration and resource-constrained nature of smart devices. Existing trust-based solutions have insufficient consideration of nodes' mobility and are not evaluated for dynamic scenarios to satisfy the requirements of smart applications. This research work addresses the Rank and Blackhole attacks in RPL considering the static as well as mobile nodes in IoT. The proposed Security, Mobility, and Trust-based model (SMTrust) relies on carefully chosen trust factors and metrics, including mobility-based metrics. The evaluation of the proposed model through simulation experiments shows that SMTrust performs better than the existing trust-based methods for securing RPL. The improvisation in terms of topology stability is 46%, reduction in packet loss rate is 45%, and 35% increase in throughput, with only 2.3% increase in average power consumption. In this paper, a 7.75 kHz line rate analog domain time delay integration (TDI) CMOS analog accumulator with 128-stage is proposed. An adaptive compensation for the charge loss due to parasitic effects is adopted. Based on the influence mechanism of parasitic effects, alternately charging the top and bottom plates of the storage capacitor while cooperate positive feedback capacitor dynamically compensates for the charge loss of the sampling phase and the holding phase. Using the proposed circuit, after the post-layout simulation verification, the SNR of 128 stage accumulation can be improved by as much as 20.9 dB.This paper presents our autonomous driving (AD) software stack, developed to complete the main mission of the contest we entered. The main mission can be simply described as a robo-taxi service on public roads, to transport passengers to their destination autonomously. Among the key competencies required for the main mission, this paper focused on high-definition mapping, vehicle control, and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication. V2I communication refers to the task of wireless data exchange between a roadside unit and vehicles. With the data being captured and shared, rich, timely, and non-line-of-sight-aware traffic information can be utilized for a wide range of AD applications. In the contest, V2I communication was applied for a robo-taxi service, and also for traffic light recognition. A V2I communication-enabled traffic light recognizer was developed, to achieve a nearly perfect recognition rate, and a robo-taxi service handler was developed, to perform the main mission of the contest.
