There are a variety of BMW keyfobs. However they all have the same kind of battery that is a CR2450 coin-cell battery. This small, round battery can be typically found in a majority of shops and can be bought for less than a dollar for each unit. In addition to being easily accessible, CR2450 batteries are also very simple to install and take off from the key fob.

To replace the CR2450 battery in your BMW first find the tab on the key fob that opens the metal valet key within the fob.
