Using weighted gene co-expression network analysis we constructed nine co-expression modules. Among these, two modules were further investigated because of their significant association with total nitrogen content and photosynthetic efficiency of photosystem II. We found that the expression of nitrogen transportation and assimilation genes varied significantly between the two lettuce species thereby providing the opportunity of introgressing wild alleles into the cultivated germplasm for developing lettuce cultivars with more efficient use of nitrogen.Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) is one of the most economically important pathogens worldwide. MG affects the respiratory system and impairs growth performance in poultry. In developing countries, the most widely used technique to identify MG is the conventional PCR assay. In this study, 24 MG isolates collected from Thailand farms with unvaccinated chickens during 2002-2020 were characterized by gene-targeted sequencing (GTS), followed by phylogenetic analysis using unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean. These 24 Thai MG isolates differed from vaccine strains, including the F, ts-11 and 6/85 strains. One isolate showed 99.5-100% genetic similarity to the F strain with 4 partial gene analyses. This result may have been due to contamination from vaccinated flocks because the F strain is the most commonly used vaccine strain in Thailand. However, the GTS analysis using the partial MG genes in this study showed that the isolates could be grouped into different patterns based on individual gene sequences. The phylogenetic analysis of partial mgc2, gapA, pvpA and lp gene sequences classified the Thai MG isolates into 7, 11, 7 and 2 groups, respectively. In conclusion, at least 2 partial MG genes, especially partial gapA and mgc2 genes, are needed to differentiate MG isolates.Although national health-related quality of life population norms had been published based on the EuroQol 5-Dimensions 5-levels scale, China is a vast country with diverse cultural and social development in various regions. Therefore, regional population norms may better reflect the health status of residents in a given area. The purpose of the study was to derive the HRQoL population norm for adult general population in southern Jiangsu Province using the EQ-5D-5L scale and explore potential influencing factors. The data were based on a cross-sectional survey conducted in Liyang City from March 2019 to July 2020. EQ-5D-5L utility scores based on Chinese value set and EQ-VAS scores were used to assess HRQoL. The Tobit regression model and generalized linear model were performed to identify the association among potential covariates and HRQoL. The means (95% confidence interval) of the EQ-5D-5L utility scores and EQ-VAS scores were 0.981(0.980-0.983) and 83.6(83.2-83.9), respectively. Younger people (≤ 40 years old) were more likely to experience problems with anxiety or depression. Additionally, women had lower HRQoL scores although multivariate analysis found no statistical difference between the sexes. Lower HRQoL was associated with advanced age, lower socioeconomic status, no spouse, lack of regular physical activities, smoking cessation, and chronic non-communicable diseases. see more Subjects who declared that they were afflicted by diseases presented significantly lower utility scores, ranging from 0.823 (0.766-0.880) for memory-related diseases to 0.978 (0.967-0.989) for hepatic diseases. A kinetic model that describes changes of free fatty acid (FFA) in industrially stored CPO has been developed. CPO FFA is a well-known indicator of the deterioration of CPO. The effect of initial moisture content, storage temperature, and time on CPO FFA have been investigated in this work. Specifically, statistical multi-regression models for changes in FFA and moisture content (MC) were developed at P-value  less then  0.05 or 95% confidence interval fence. It was found that CPO FFA increases with an increase in moisture content, temperature, and time in their linear term and in respect to decreases in their quadratic term, and interaction between moisture content and temperature. The CPO MC was also found to decrease with an increase in temperature and time and increases in the quadratic term of temperature. Although while the model for CPO FFA, based on Fisher's F-test [Formula see text], showed no lack-of-fit; that of CPO MC showed lack-of-fit, [Formula see text]. Furthermore, based on inference from the statistical model, their kinetic models were also developed. While the CPO FFA kinetic, found to be a half-order kinetic model and its other auxiliary models showed a very good fit (R2 0.9933-0.8614 and RMSE 0.0020-3.6716); that of CPO MC was a poorly fitted first-order kinetic model (R2 0.9885-0.3935 and RMSE 0.0605-17.8501).Electrocardiographic (ECG) Heart Age conveying cardiovascular risk has been estimated by both Bayesian and artificial intelligence approaches. We hypothesised that explainable measures from the 10-s 12-lead ECG could successfully predict Bayesian 5-min ECG Heart Age. Advanced analysis was performed on ECGs from healthy subjects and patients with cardiovascular risk or proven heart disease. Regression models were used to predict patients' Bayesian 5-min ECG Heart Ages from their standard, resting 10-s 12-lead ECGs. The difference between 5-min and 10-s ECG Heart Ages were analyzed, as were the differences between 10-s ECG Heart Age and the chronological age (the Heart Age Gap). In total, 2,771 subjects were included (n = 1682 healthy volunteers, n = 305 with cardiovascular risk factors, n = 784 with cardiovascular disease). Overall, 10-s Heart Age showed strong agreement with the 5-min Heart Age (R2 = 0.94, p  less then  0.001, mean ± SD bias 0.0 ± 5.1 years). The Heart Age Gap was 0.0 ± 5.7 years in healthy individuals, 7.4 ± 7.3 years in subjects with cardiovascular risk factors (p  less then  0.001), and 14.3 ± 9.2 years in patients with cardiovascular disease (p  less then  0.001). Heart Age can be accurately estimated from a 10-s 12-lead ECG in a transparent and explainable fashion based on known ECG measures, without deep neural network-type artificial intelligence techniques. The number of ampullary pores in C. monstrosa is about 700, distributed into the whole cephalic section of C. monstrosa, and organized in12 pore clusters and they are arranged into different configurations and form a distinct morphological pattern for this species, showing some anatomical peculiarities never described before in others cartilaginous fishes and may constitute an evolutionary adaptation of this ancient chondrichthyan species to the extreme environmental conditions of its deep sea niche.The results of the harmonic balance method (HBM) for a nonlinear system generally show nonlinear response curves with primary, super-, and sub-harmonic resonances. In addition, the stability conditions can be examined by employing Hill's method. However, it is difficult to understand the practical dynamic behaviors with only their stability conditions, especially with respect to unstable regimes. Thus, the main goal of this study is to suggest mathematical and numerical approaches to determine the complex dynamic behaviors regarding the bifurcation characteristics. To analyze the bifurcation phenomena, the HBM is first implemented utilizing Hill's method where various local unstable areas are found. Second, the bifurcation points are determined by tracking the stability variational locations on the arc-length continuation scheme. Then, their points are defined for various bifurcation types. Finally, the real parts of the eigenvalues are analyzed to examine the practical dynamic behaviors, specifically in the unstable regimes, which reflect the relevance of various bifurcation types on the real part of eigenvalues. The methods employed in this study successfully explain the basic ways to examine the bifurcation phenomena when the HBM is implemented. Thus, this study suggests fundamental method to understand the bifurcation phenomena using only the HBM with Hill's method.The linear complementarity approach has been utilized as a systematic and unified numerical process for determining the response of a rigid-plastic structure subjected to impulsive loading. However, the popular Lemke Algorithm for solving linear complementarity problems (LCP) encounters numerical instability issues whilst tracing the response of structures under extreme dynamic loading. This paper presents an efficient LCP approach with an enhanced initiation subroutine for resolving the numerical difficulties of the solver. The numerical response of the impulsively loaded structures is affected by the initial velocity profile, which if not found correctly can undermine the overall response. In the current study, the initial velocity profile is determined by a Linear Programming (LP) subroutine minimizing the energy function. An example of a uniform impulsively loaded simply supported beam is adduced to show the validity and accuracy of the proposed approach. The beam is approximated with bending hinges having infinite resistance to shear. Comparison of the numerical results to the available closed-form solution confirms the excellent performance of the approach. However, a subsequent investigation into a beam having the same support conditions and the applied loading, but with bending and shear deformation, results in numerical instability despite optimizing the initial velocity profile. Thus a more generic description of kinetics and kinematics is proposed that can further enhance the numerical efficiency of the LCP formulation. The ensuing numerical results are compared with the available close form solution to assess the accuracy and efficiency of the developed approach.The aim of the study was to determine how feeding rats a high-fat diet (F) supplemented with various forms of chromium affects the responses of the immune and redox systems, as well as epigenetic changes in the ileal tissue and the course of fermentation processes in the caecum. The rats received a pharmacologically relevant dose 0.3 mg Cr/kg body weight in form of chromium(III) picolinate (Cr-Pic), chromium (III)-methionine (Cr-Met), or chromium nanoparticles (Cr-NPs). The F increased DNA oxidation and raised the level of interleukin IL-6. The F was shown to reduce the intensity of fermentation processes in the caecum while increasing the activity of potentially harmful enzymes in the faeces. The addition of Cr in the form of Cr-NPs and Cr-Met in rats fed F beneficially increased mobilization of enzymes of the DNA repair pathway. All forms of Cr, but especially Cr-NPs, beneficially decreased the activity of caecal bacterial β-glucuronidase, faecal β-glucosidase and β-glucuronidase. However, due to the increase in level of cytokine IL-2 in small intestinal wall, induced by all tested forms of chromium, it is difficult to state conclusively that this element can mitigate unfavourable pro-inflammatory and oxidative changes induced by a F in the small intestinal wall.
