Connection between low-level light box therapy in dentin allergic reaction: an organized assessment and meta-analysis.
Many patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP) undergo a step-up approach with interventional procedures as first-line treatment and resection reserved for later stages. The aim of this study was to identify predictive factors for a significant clinical improvement (SCI) after surgical treatment. All patients operated for CP between September 2012 and June 2017 at our center was retrospectively reviewed. A prospective patient survey was conducted to measure patients postoperative outcome. The primary endpoint SCI was defined as stable health status, positive weight development and complete pain relief without routine pain medication. Additionally, risk factors for relaparotomy were analyzed.A total of 89 patients with a median follow-up of 38 months were included. In most cases, a duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection (n = 48) or pancreatoduodenectomy (n = 28) was performed. SCI was achieved in 65.3% (n = 47) of the patients after the final medium follow-up of 15.0 months (IQR 7.0-35.0 months), respectively. Patients with a longer mean delay (7.7 vs 4 years) between diagnosis and surgical resection were less likely to achieve SCI (P = .02; OR .88; 95%CI .80-98). An endocrine insufficiency was a negative prognostic factor for SCI (P = .01; OR .15; 95%CI .04-68). In total, 96.2% of the patients had a complete or major postoperative relief with a mean pain intensity reduction from 8.1 to 1.9 on the visual analogue scale. The results support that surgical resection for CP should be considered at early stages. Resection can effectively reduce postoperative pain intensity and improve long-term success.
Positioning infliximab (IFX), cyclosporine and tacrolimus (TAC) for treating ulcerative colitis (UC) is in great debate.

A literature search identified studies that investigated IFX vs. cyclosporine or IFX vs TAC in UC patients. Short-term remission, short-term, 1-year and 3-year colectomy rate were employed as primary end-points to assess efficacy. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were analyzed.

Overall, 15 studies comprised 596 patients in IFX group and 866 in calcineurin inhibitors group (644 received cyclosporine and 222 received TAC). No significant difference was seen between IFX and calcineurin inhibitors with regard to short-term remission. IFX led to a lower short-term (OR 0.59, 95% CI 0.43-0.82, P.001), 1-year (OR 0.53, 95% CI 0.38-0.73, P < .001), 3-year colectomy (OR 0.41, 95% CI 0.20-0.84, P.02) than calcineurin inhibitors. IFX led to a lower short-term (OR 0.51, 95% CI 0.36-0.71, P < .001), 1-year (OR 0.53, 95% CI 0.37-0.74, P.003) colectomy and a trend of lower tocol are warranted to identify the optimal medical strategy in patients with UC.T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-3 (TIM-3) is a surface molecule expressed on immune cells which play a role in immune regulation. The aims of the present study were to determine whether circulating soluble T cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin-3 (sTIM-3) are elevated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, and investigate the relationships between sTIM-3 and clinical features of RA.The study included 116 patients with established RA and 27 healthy control subjects. Serum levels of sTIM-3 were measured via the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). Correlations between serum sTIM-3 and a range of parameters including anti-citrullinated peptide antibody (ACPA) titer, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3) were assessed.Serum sTIM-3 was significantly elevated in RA patients compared with those in healthy subjects, and it was positively correlated with ACPA titer (r = 0.27 P = .005), ESR (r = 0.27, P = .004) and MMP-3 (r = 0.35, P  less then  .001). In RA patients with high ACPA titers (≥200 U/mL), sTIM-3 was not correlated with ESR or MMP-3. Whereas, sTIM-3 was significantly correlated with ESR and MMP-3 in RA patients with low ACPA titers ( less then 200 U/mL).Serum sTIM-3 was increased in RA patients, and it was associated with proinflammatory markers and disease activity in RA patients under a particular ACPA status. Our data suggest that circulating sTIM-3 may be a useful biomarker for the determination of disease activity in RA patients.
Trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) is an antibody-drug conjugate that retains the antitumor effects of trastuzumab while also delivering the cytotoxic antimicrotubule agent, DM1, directly to tumor cells that overexpress human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. The pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of T-DM1 has been well characterized in Western, Asian, and Japanese patients; this single-center, phase I study (NCT03153163) examined the PK of T-DM1 and safety specifically in Chinese patients.

Patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, previously treated with trastuzumab and a taxane, received open-label T-DM1 at 3.6 mg/kg every 3 weeks. Serum T-DM1 and total trastuzumab, and plasma DM1 were evaluated, and PK parameters were calculated using standard noncompartmental approaches. Adverse events (AEs) were assessed, and immunogenicity was evaluated by measuring antidrug antibodies to T-DM1.

Among Akt inhibitor , mean (±standard deviation) PK parameters (maximum serum concentration, 77.6 ± 17.4 μients with advanced human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive breast cancer following progression on trastuzumab and a taxane. The safety profile of T-DM1 was consistent with prior experience.
Publications regarding the 100 top-cited articles in a given discipline are common, but studies reporting the association between article topics and their citations are lacking. Whether or not reviews and original articles have a higher impact factor than case reports is a point for verification in this study. In addition, article topics that can be used for predicting citations have not been analyzed. #link# Thus, this study aims to METHODS We searched PubMed Central and downloaded 100 top-cited abstracts in the journal Medicine (Baltimore) since 2011. Four article types and 7 topic categories (denoted by MeSH terms) were extracted from abstracts. Contributors to these 100 top-cited articles were analyzed. Social network analysis and Sankey diagram analysis were performed to identify influential article types and topic categories. MeSH terms were applied to predict the number of article citations. link2 We then examined the prediction power with the correlation coefficients between MeSH weights and article citations.

the overall concept of the 100 top-cited articles using the Sankey diagram. MeSH terms can be used for predicting article citations. Analyzing the 100 top-cited articles could help future academic pursuits and applications in other academic disciplines.People living in the same area are more likely to experience similar socioeconomic characteristics, which leads to cluster effect and influences the generalizability of data regarding metabolic syndrome (MetS). However, previous studies did not consider or adjust for the cluster effect of living circumstances. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of MetS and associated lifestyle factors in Chinese adults 18 to 80 years of age, using multi-level generalized estimation equation (GEE).The participants came from a large-scale cross-sectional population survey. A total of 28,062 participants underwent all the blood tests. Participants meeting at least 3 of the 5 diagnostic criteria were defined as having MetS. Multi-level GEE was used to evaluate the relationship between MetS and lifestyle covariates to control the cluster effect of living circumstances. Odds ratios (ORs) and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to assess the strength of each relationship.A total of 65.70% of the particidy fat percentage.MetS has become a serious public health challenge in China. Many lifestyle factors have been found to be closely associated with MetS, including obesity, a high-salt diet, alcohol consumption, and short sleep duration. Therefore, changes in lifestyle are very important for adults to reduce the prevalence of MetS.
In the current literature, for adult lumbar spondylolisthesis, the direct comparison of clinical outcomes and perioperative complications between transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) and posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) is limited. Whether the therapeutic effect of TLIF is better than that of PLIF is still controversial. In this retrospective controlled study, our aim was to compare their clinical outcomes and radiological results of the above two stabilization approaches after 1-year follow-up period.

This investigation was approved via the Institutional Review committee of China-Japan friendship hospital. This was a retrospective single-center analysis of subjects. We reviewed the patients with spondylolisthesis treated with TLIF or PLIF between July 2016 and February 2019 in our hospital. Patients with these conditions will be included with the radiological evidence of degenerative lumbar spondylolismia with leg pain and/or low back pain, or the neurogenic claudication after failure of conventional conservative treatment for more than 6 months. The patients who received 3 levels or more intervertebral fusion levels were excluded. Patients without a completed medical history were excluded. Patients who had a history of lumbar spine surgery were also excluded. Clinical outcomes in our follow-up included functional outcomes, complications, and radiographic such as spondylolisthesis degree. The radiographs were obtained at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months during the outpatient follow-up.

This protocol will provide a solid theoretical basis for exploring which technique is better in treatment of spondylolisthesis.

Asymptomatic cryptococcal antigenemia is a state of cryptococcal infection commonly seen in immunocompromised HIV-infected persons. Without early intervention, a proportion of HIV-infected persons with cryptococcal antigenemia may go on to develop cryptococcosis, especially cryptococcal meningitis, which is associated with high mortality. The benefits of antifungal intervention and optimal therapeutic intervention regimens for HIV-infected persons with cryptococcal antigenemia remain controversial. We therefore designed the present study in order to investigate the necessity of, and the optimal regimens for antifungal intervention in the clinical management of cryptococcal antigenemia in HIV-infected populations.

This study will be an open-labeled, multi-center, prospective, randomized controlled trial, and 450 eligible participants will be randomized into a control arm and 2 intervention arms at a 111 ratio, with 150 subjects in each arm. Participants in the control arm will not receive antifungal treatmtudy was registered as one of the 12 clinical trials under a general project at the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry on February 1, 2019, and the registration number of the general project is ChiCTR1900021195.
Neck pain is a common complaint in the general population. Despite the consistent ongoing pain and the resulting economic burden on affected individuals, there have only been a few studies investigating the treatment of acute neck pain. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the motion style acupuncture treatment (MSAT) and acupuncture treatment for acute neck pain.

This 2-armed, parallel, multi-centered randomized controlled trial will be conducted at 4 community-based hospitals in Korea. A total of 128 subjects will be randomly assigned, at a 11 ratio, to the MSAT and the acupuncture treatment groups. Treatment will be administered 2 to 3 times a week for 2 weeks. The primary outcome will be the visual analog scale of neck pain on movement. link3 The secondary outcomes will be the numeric rating scale of the neck, neck disability index, Northwick Park questionnaire, patient global impression of change, range of motion of the neck, 5-level EuroQol-5 dimension, 12-item Short-Form Health Survey, and EuroQol visual analogue scale.
