To compare the performance of prone digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT)-vacuum-assisted biopsy (VAB) with prone stereotactic-guided VAB (sVAB), focusing on time of procedure, number of expositions, average glandular dose, and complications.

The institutional review board approved this retrospective study and informed consent was waived. From July 2015 to January 2017, 306 patients with 306 suspicious mammographic findings (BI-RADS ⩾4) underwent mammography-guided biopsy, prone sVAB, or prone DBT-VAB. Student
test, chi-square, and multivariate regression statistics were used.

During the study period, 155 prone sVAB procedures in 155 patients (mean age, 56 years; age range, 39-84 years) and 151 DBT-VABs in 151 patients (mean age, 57 years; age range, 33-84 years) were performed. Mean procedure time was shorter with DBT-VAB versus sVAB (14.5 versus 17.4 minutes, respectively;
< 0.001), and fewer images were acquired with DBT-VAB versus sVAB (8 vs 11, respectively;
< 0.001); the average glandular dose was significantly lower in DBT-VAB versus sVAB (11.8 mGy versus 18 mGy, respectively;
< 0.001). There were no differences in the distribution of histologic results (
= 0.74) or breast density (
= 0.09) between the two groups. No major complications were observed in either group.

An online contingent valuation (CV) survey was administered to 1,130 respondents in the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. The survey queried respondents about their physical activity levels and intention to engage in physical activity before presenting the WTA questions. Nonparametric WTA values were estimated for the whole sample and for subsamples of active, inactive, and overweight and obese people. One-quarter of respondents would engage with the hypothetical program even without payment, but if a monetary incentive was offered them, they would take it. The median WTA for committing to complete 10,000 steps/day is €0.23 for the full sample, €0.21 for active, €0.25 for inactive, and €0.23 for overweight and obese people. The WTA at 75th percentile is €4 for the full sample, €1.70 for active, €10.80 for inactive, and €5 for overweight and obese respondents. WTA is positively affected by a person's lack of disposable time to increase their physical activity and, for inactive people, by their poor intention to become physically active.
Ethnically diverse patients often have lower medication adherence relative to Whites. Certain ethnic groups are also more susceptible to cardiovascular and related diseases. It is critical to develop culturally tailored interventions to improve medication adherence in these ethnically diverse patients. Thus, the aim of this systematic review was to identify what interventions have been developed and tested to improve medication adherence in ethnically diverse patients with cardiovascular-related diseases.

A systematic search of peer-reviewed literature (MEDLINE, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, EMBASE, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials) was conducted to identify relevant articles. How does this affect culturally congruent health care?In order to describe temperature-dependent cell osmotic behaviors in a more reliable method, a novel mathematical mass transfer model coupled with dynamic temperature change has been established based on the combination of a time domain to temperature domain transformation equation and a constant temperature mass transfer model. This novel model is numerically simulated under multiple temperature changing rates and extracellular osmolarities. A microfluidic system that can achieve single-cell osmotic behavior observation and provide dynamic and swift on-chip temperature control was built and tested in this paper. Utilizing the temperature control system, the on-chip heating processes are recorded and then described as polynomial time-temperature relationships. These dynamic temperature changing profiles were performed by obtaining cell membrane properties by parameter fitting only one set of testing experimental data to the mathematical model with a constant temperature changing rate. The numerical modeling results show that predicting the osmotic cell volume change using selected dynamic temperature profiles is more suitable for studies concerning cell membrane permeability determination and cryopreservation process than tests using constant temperature changing rates.
