RapidPlan (RP), a knowledge-based planning system, aims to consistently improve plan quality and efficiency in radiotherapy. During the early stages of implementation, some of the challenges include knowing how to optimally train a model and how to integrate RP into a department. We discuss our experience with the implementation of RP into our institution.

We reviewed all patients planned using RP over a 7-month period following inception in our department. Our primary outcome was clinically acceptable plans (used for treatment) with secondary outcomes including model performance and a comparison of efficiency and plan quality between RP and manual planning (MP).

Between November 2017 and May 2018, 496 patients were simulated, of which 217 (43.8%) had an available model. RP successfully created a clinically acceptable plan in 87.2% of eligible patients. The individual success of the 24 models ranged from 50% to 100%, with more than 90% success in 15 (62.5%) of the models. In 40% of plans, success was achieved on the 1st optimisation. The overall planning time with RP was reduced by up to 95% compared with MP times. The quality of the RP plans was at least equivalent to historical MP plans in terms of target coverage and organ at risk constraints.

To answer this question, we used humanized mouse models generated by the adoptive transfer of peripheral blood mononuclear cells or the cotransplantation of hematopoietic stem cells and human thymic tissue. Using these mice, we evaluated the engraftment in skeletal muscle of myoblasts derived either directly from a muscle biopsy or differentiated from hiPSCs or fibroblasts. Our results showed that while allogeneic grafts were mostly rejected and highly infiltrated with human T cells, engraftment of autologous cells was tolerated. We also observed that hiPSC-derived myogenic progenitor cells (MPCs) are not targeted by autologous T cells and natural killer cells in vitro. This work presents trifunctional properties of the double-perovskite oxide PrBa0.5 Sr0.5 Co1.5 Fe0.5 O5+δ and the PrBa0.5 Sr0.5 Co1.5 Fe0.5 O5+δ -Ag composite prepared by the glycine nitrate process. The electrocatalytic studies reveal that the Ag-based composite is an excellent catalyst for both oxygen evolution (OER) and hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) in alkaline solution. Aim of this study was to analyse the frequency of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, ALK and ROS1 rearrangements and their association with age and gender in non-small cell lung cancer reported from a tertiary care center in South India.

Tumors from patients with non-small cell carcinoma of lung were evaluated for EGFR mutations, ALK and ROS1 rearrangements and their association with age and gender were studied.

Two thirds of non-small cell carcinomas had driver mutations or rearrangements. EGFR mutation was common and seen in 34.1%, whereas ALK rearrangement was seen in 11.1% and ROS1 rearrangement in 2% patients. Among EGFR mutations, most common were Exon 19 deletion and L858R seen in 21.3% and 11% of patients, respectively. Adenocarcinoma was the histologic diagnosis in 81% to 85% of patients with exon 19 deletion and L858R mutation, respectively. STZ inhibitor EGFR mutation frequency in patients less than 36 years was 13.6%, whereas in older patients, it varied from 34% to 36%. Exon 19 deletion was seen in 29.8% females and 17.2% of males.

The Action for Health in Diabetes (Look AHEAD) trial was a randomized trial comparing effects of intensive lifestyle intervention (ILI) and diabetes support and education (DSE) on cardiovascular disease (CVD) among individuals with overweight/obesity and type 2 diabetes. A secondary analysis was conducted to evaluate the association between change in weight and waist circumference (WC) and CVD outcomes.

Participants (N = 5,490) were classified into four categories based on change in weight and WC between baseline and year 1 (both increased, both decreased, etc.). Separate Cox proportional hazards regression models were fit for ILI and DSE (using group that reduced weight/WC as reference), and time to first occurrence of primary and secondary CVD outcomes from year 1 through a median of almost 10 years were compared. Second, time to first event among all four ILI groups relative to DSE was evaluated.
