This review aims to map available evidence regarding undergraduate nursing students' transfer of learning from simulation-based experiences into clinical practice.

Scoping review.

We searched MEDLINE, CINAHL, and Google Scholar and conducted manual searches for eligible studies published between January 2016-December 2021.

We approached our review using Arksey and O'Malley's scoping review framework and collaboratively worked through the screening, selection, and collating processes. We resolved conflicts in search outcomes and data abstraction through discussion to reach a consensus. We reported our methods and results following the PRISMA-ScR reporting guideline. click here We used narrative review to outline and discuss results.

Thirty-two studies, spanning 9 reviews, 14 qualitative studies, 5 quantitative studies, and 4 mixed methods studies conducted in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Israel, Norway, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States, were included. Results are presented untcomes of simulation. Further longitudinal research is needed to explore the longer-term processes by which learning transfer and integration occur, as well as the resulting impact on students' and nurses' clinical practice as well as clients' and population health outcomes. This review will be of interest to nursing educators, researchers, and clinicians who wish to support nursing students' learning.
Emotional intelligence and clinical competence are essential skills of the nursing profession to elevate the quality of nursing services and patient satisfaction.

This study aimed to determine the correlation between emotional intelligence and clinical competence in nurses working in critical care units of hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.

A cross-sectional study with a correlational design.

Special care units (SCUs) of hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran.

The research subjects included 200 nurses working in the Special care units SCUs of hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, selected via convenience sampling.

Data were collected using three questionnaires, including a demographic information questionnaire, the Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i), and Benner's Nurse Competence Scale (NCS). The questionnaires were completed from October to December 2019. Data were analyze, and the proper training of staff in responsibility, accountability, and communication skills will have many benefits for promoting nursing services and can be considered one of the strategies to improve the quality of nursing services. They are therefore recommended to be considered in designing and implementing continuing education programs for nurses. In the current study we move away from bias-focused, White-centric research to examine relationships between gender, race/ethnicity, and weight-related attitudes, identity, and beliefs among Black, Black/White Biracial, East Asian, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, South Asian, and White U.S. Americans who self-identify as higher weight. The results showed that (1) women identify as fat more than men do, (2) fat identity, operationalized as feelings of similarity to fat people (self-stereotyping) and importance of weight to one's sense of self (identity centrality) are relatively similar across races and ethnicities, and (3) fat identity and weight-related beliefs are related to positivity toward fat people across the racial/ethnic groups sampled in this study.
To our knowledge, no other studies have demonstrated the reliability and validity of the Figure of Eight Walking Test (F8WT) and L Test in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). The aim of the study was to prove the test-retest reliability and concurrent validity of the F8WT and L Test in patients with MS.

A cross-sectional study was conducted with 52 patients with MS. A clinical neurologist evaluated patients by Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS). Participants completed the F8WT, L Test, Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), and Timed 25-Foot Walk Test (T25FW) in the first assessment session. Then, the F8WT and L Test was retested one hour later. The same evaluator completed all of the assessments.

The ICC of both tests were excellent (ICC
0.972, ICC
0.986). F8WT and L test measurement did not show a systematic bias and were within the agreement limits. The Standard Error of Measurement (SEM
) and Minimal Detectable Change (MDC
) values of the F8WT was 0.58 and 1.60, respectively. Besides, L Test's SEM
and MDC
were 0.59 and 1.63. The correlation between F8WT with TUG, T25FW and EDSS was 0.849, 0.810 and 0.453. On the other hand, the L test's correlation coefficient with TUG, T25FW and EDSS 0.682, 0.706 and 0.535, respectively (p<0.01). Individuals with "EDSS≤1″ had statistically significantly better L-test and F8WT scores than those with "EDSS 1 to 4.5″ (p<0.01).

F8WT and L Test is a valid and reliable physical performance test in MS patients without mobility aids. Both tests demonstrate advanced gait assessment in L and 8 shaped pathways to provide more comprehensive evaluation than horizontal pathways.

Preeclampsia, a systemic multisystem disease of placental origin, is also one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. Serious complications such as HELLP syndrome and placental abruption that occur in patients with preeclampsia without active treatment will be life threatening. In recent years, extracellular vesicles, especially those derived from mesenchymal stem cells, have been widely used in the treatment of various diseases due to their excellent anti-inflammatory, tissue regeneration-promoting, and immunomodulatory properties. In this review, we attempt to summarize recent advances in the use of different sources of extracellular vesicles for the treatment of preeclampsia, and also describe the biological pathways and molecules involved in each study. Extracellular vesicle therapy has a good repair effect on trophoblast and endothelial system, and is a promising treatment for preeclampsia.
Adipose-derived stromal cells (ASCs) are a promising cell source for novel tissue engineering approaches to breast reconstruction following cancer resection. However there is limited knowledge on the effect of adjuvant therapies such as hormonal therapy on ASCs, which may affect their efficacy in regenerative strategies. The present study aims to investigate the effects of Tamoxifen and its metabolites Afimoxifene (4-Hydroxy-Tamoxifen) and Endoxifen (N-desmethyl-4-hydroxytamoxifen) on patient-derived ASC viability, apoptosis, adipogenic differentiation and angiogenic potential.

ASCs were isolated from fat harvested from female breast cancer patients undergoing breast reconstruction surgery or cosmetic procedures. Oestrogen receptor (ER α, β) expression was analysed using immunofluorescence. ASCs were then treated with various concentrations of Afimoxifene, Endoxifen and Tamoxifen (combination), and the impact on ASC viability and apoptosis determined. ASCs were cultured in adipogenic-differentiation mediancer patients receiving this adjuvant hormonal therapy.
At physiologically relevant doses, Tamoxifen treatment did not result in any deleterious effect on ASC survival and functionality and is unlikely to negatively impact ASC based breast reconstruction strategies for breast cancer patients receiving this adjuvant hormonal therapy.Plant trait evolution can be impacted by common mechanisms of genome evolution, including whole-genome and small-scale duplication, rearrangement, and selective pressures. With the increasing accessibility of genome sequencing for non-model species, comparative studies of trait evolution among closely related or divergent lineages have supported investigations into plant chemical defense. Plant defensive compounds include major chemical classes, such as terpenoids, alkaloids, and phenolics, and are used in primary and secondary plant functions. These include the promotion of plant health, facilitation of pollination, defense against pathogens, and responses to a rapidly changing climate. We discuss mechanisms of genome evolution and use examples from recent studies to impress a stronger understanding of the link between genotype and phenotype as it relates to the evolution of plant chemical defense. We conclude with considerations for how to leverage genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and functional assays for studying the emergence and evolution of chemical defense systems.Puberty is part of physiological processes including growth, adrenarche, menarche, energy balance and metabolism. This study describes the dynamic between both metabolic and reproductive statutes during pubertal growth in Saharan breed sheep. Once weaned (3 months age), two lots of lambs are made up and each one receive a barley supplementation ration of 250 vs 500 g/head/day in addition to season's diet. Biometric measurements and blood samples are collected once a month from 3 to 12 months of age in order to evaluate biochemical and sexual hormonal status. Results show a significant weight gain and growth level in the double dose lot. Changes in biochemical parameters are closely related with age at least for glycemia and total proteinemia. Androgenic profile shows individual fluctuations (0.02 to 3.47 μg /ml) due to age, season and feeding ratio. In accordance with our findings, the diet effect is clearly evidenced between the two batches, it's noted that plasma concentration of androgens is the lowest ( less then 0.30 ng /ml) at 3 months and increases to 0.53 vs 0.76 ng /ml between 4 and 6 months confirming the pre-pubertal phase. Also, biometric and biochemical parameters are tightly correlates with plasma androgen changes, depending on whether the animal be pubescent or not. In conclusion, although interesting this study shows no early puberty onset in the barley supplemented lambs as was reported in other sheep breeds; nevertheless, the testis activity as well as the body fitness have clearly be enhance. The synergy between biochemical profiles and biometric measurements explain the metabolic function of testicular androgens at puberty.
