Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at a time to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through various methods such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting material.
Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of either.
The number of upgrade components needed for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, however it can be reduced using a variety of methods, including purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be improved by a prefix like a rune or an insignia, and others can be upgraded by adding a suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods at all.
upgrade item are a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph comes with a range of values that it could enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the actual amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum amount by which it is able to do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're creating it for.
Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
You can take out any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.
When you take away an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to increase its value. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for players who take a lot of damage from enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for item upgrades, but they can be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.
In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon due to the number of rerolls required to increase it to the final level. This effect of lowering is most effective for Diadems and ring items that do not have any competing ilvl-raising options.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it using money or food items that would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to invest excessive amounts of time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an option to change the race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the upgrade value of any stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade that increases the healing or damage of a specific stat. Finally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading your items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a better roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also chances for higher or more special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to a unique type, it could get an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading gear from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on its base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
The iLevel will also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an extraordinary item is likely to be upgraded to the enhanced defense of the new base type of item.
