Migrant and seasonal farmworkers are at increased risk for occupational fatalities and injuries. Although such employment-related geographical mobility is receiving increasing attention, there is limited evidence about occupational health problems among seasonal farmworkers. Therefore, this study aims to investigate occupational health problems among seasonal and migrant farmworkers in Ethiopia.
A cross-sectional study design was employed from October to December 2019 among seasonal and migrant farmworkers. The study was carried out in two sites of Amhara regional state, northwest Ethiopia. A cluster sampling technique was used to recruit 990 study participants. Bivariable and multivariable binary logistic regression analyses were performed using SPSS version 20 to identify factors associated with injuries. The significance level was obtained at 95% CI and

This study aimed to determine the risk factors associated with the number of thrombectomy device passes and establish a nomogram for predicting the number of device pass attempts in patients with successful endovascular thrombectomy (EVT).
We enrolled patients from a signal comprehensive stroke center (CSC) who underwent EVT because of large vessel occlusion stroke. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to develop the best-fit nomogram for predicting the number of thrombectomy device passes. The discrimination and calibration of the nomogram were estimated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) and a calibration plot with a bootstrap of 1000 resamples. A decision curve analysis (DCA) was used to measure the availability and effect of this predictive tool.
In total, 130 patients (mean age 64.9 ± 11.1 years; 83 males) were included in the final analysis. Age (odds ratio [OR], 1.085; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.005-1.172;
= 0.036), baseline Alberta Stroke Program Early computed tomography (ASPECTS) score (OR, 0.237; 95% CI, 0.115-0.486;
< 0.001), and homocysteine level (OR, 1.090; 95% CI, 1.028-1.155;
= 0.004) were independent predictors of device pass number and were thus incorporated into the nomogram. The AUC-ROC determined the discrimination ability of the nomogram, which was 0.921 (95% CI, 0.860-0.980), which indicated good predictive power. Moreover, the calibration plot revealed good predictive accuracy of the nomogram. The DCA demonstrated that when the threshold probabilities of the cohort ranged between 5.0% and 98.0%, the use of the nomogram to predict a device pass number > 3 provided greater net benefit than did "treat all" or "treat none" strategies.
The nomogram comprised age, baseline ASPECTS score, and homocysteine level, can predict a device pass number >3 in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients who are undergoing EVT.

Everyday nursing practice under demanding conditions, high mental and physical strain may result in occupational burnout. There is still a need for studies on the comprehensive identification of burnout among nursing staff. This study aimed to evaluate factors affecting occupational burnout among nurses, including job satisfaction, life satisfaction, and dispositional optimism.
The study involved 625 survey participants with a mean age of 49.47 years and was conducted between January and December 2018. The inclusion criteria were job experience >1 year, current nurse work activity, and written informed consent to participate in the study. The study used standardized research tools such as Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), Life Orientation Test-Revised version (LOT-R), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and Satisfaction with Job Scale (SWJS). Also, sociodemographic data were collected using a self-developed questionnaire. The STROBE guidelines were followed.

Burnout was found to be related to individual, interpersonal and organizational feelings. There was an interrelationship between personality traits, where a higher level of occupational burnout was found among nurses with a pessimist attitude. Health programs should be implemented to identify and eliminate burnout through mental health support, improved communication skills, optimized teamwork, and evidence-based interventions.The B cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway is functional and has critical cell survival implications in B cell malignancies, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Orally administered small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors of members of the BCR signaling pathway have proven to be transformational in treatment of CLL. The first-generation inhibitor, ibrutinib, covalently binds to the C481 amino acid of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), thereby irreversibly inhibiting its kinase activity, and interferes with the biology of the cells, ultimately resulting in CLL cell death and therapeutic response. Remissions are not deep to the point of considering discontinuation for most patients, but BTK-inhibitor-based therapy provides exceptional long-term disease control with continuous treatment. There are in-class toxicities and more selective second- and subsequent-generation agents and reversible inhibitors have been developed with the intent of reducing toxicities. Also, strategies to subvert resistance have included tighter or alternative, non-covalent, inhibitor binding. Furthermore, other strategies to deplete BTK protein, such as degraders, are in development and being tested in the clinic. Ultimately, the development and approval of these agents targeting BTK have ushered in a new era of chemotherapy-free treatments with remarkably improved survival outcomes for patients with CLL.

A 47-year-old Thai woman had eosinophilic meningitis. One week after the onset of a headache, blurred vision developed in her right eye. Ocular examination of the right eye showed
larva in the subretinal space in the inferotemporal quadrant and macular edema. Although serum analysis for
was negative, the larva can be identified by its characteristic appearance. Blood eosinophilia and cerebrospinal fluid eosinophilia were presented. Focal laser photocoagulation was applied to the retina, and the patient also received anti-helminthic and oral corticosteroid drugs. The vision did not recover. To describe the demographics and evaluate the repair of childbirth-associated injuries leading to incontinence in patients in remote Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Four surgical outreach campaigns were organised between March 2018 and October 2019. These campaigns specifically targeted women with incontinence secondary to childbirth-associated injuries. Patients were recruited on a voluntary basis, and locations included Katako-kombe (Sankuru province), Wamba (Haut Uelé province), Karawa (North Ubangi province) and Kipaka (Maniema province). Necessary care was provided along with informal teaching with local healthcare professionals.
A total of 481 patients,14-71 years old with a mean of 32 years of age, were included in this study. The average duration of incontinence associated with a childbirth injury was 6.8 years. Vesicovaginal fistulas (277/481; 57.6%) and perineal tears (148/481; 30.8%) were predominant, while the combination of vesicovaginal and rectovaginal fistulas were seen in only 5 (1. in remote DRC with poorly managed vaginal deliveries being the leading cause. Cure rate of fistulas and perineal tears is high during outreach campaigns; however, long-term follow-up is limited. There remains a need to train and mentor rural medical professionals in the DRC on adequate management of obstetric emergencies.
Demineralized dentin material membrane (DDMM) is a novel bioresorbable guided bone regeneration (GBR) which is derived from the demineralization process of bovine dentin. This material/process could be an alternative to resolve musculoskeletal dysfunction that harms the quality of human life.
To evaluate the cytotoxic effect of DDMM as GBR membrane on MC3T3-E1 osteoblast cell line.
Cytotoxic effect was evaluated using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Osteoblast MC3T3-E1 cell culture was used as a parameter of cell viability after reacting with GBR materials. The absorbance values were examined at each treatment to determine the percentage of cell viability. There were four groups created in the present study two treatment groups and two control groups. The treatment groups consisted of a DDMM group and a bovine pericardium collagen membrane (BPCM) group. The control groups comprised a group containing cell culture medium as a negative control group and another positive control group that contained cell cultures.
The results revealed no significant difference in MC3T3-E1 cell viability between the treatment and control groups (p < 0.05). Moreover, as observed in the DDMM group, there was an increase in the number of osteoblast cells.
DDMM is a suitable alternative biomaterial for GBR as it is non-cytotoxic and could potentially increase the rate of repair of craniofacial defects.

The priority of interventions to alleviate cognitive deficits in patients with bipolar disorder (BD) is inconclusive. We systematically evaluate the efficacy of pharmacological or neurostimulation interventions for cognitive function in BD through a network meta-analysis.
The PubMed, PsycINFO, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched from database inception to September 30, 2021. Following PRISMA guidelines, all eligible studies were randomized controlled trials of adult bipolar patients that provided detailed cognitive outcomes. Studies were excluded if participants limited to comorbid substance use disorder or the intervention was a psychotherapy. Network meta-analysis comparing different interventions was conducted for 8 cognitive domains. Partially ordered set with Hasse diagram was used to resolve conflicting rankings between outcomes. The study was preregistered on PROSPERO database (CRD42020152044).
Total 21 RCTs including 42 tests for assessing intervention effects on cognition were retrieved.
