The modal frequencies of a structure are affected by continuous changes in ambient factors, such as temperature, wind speed etc. This study incorporates nonlinear principal component analysis (NLPCA) with support vector regression (SVR) to build a mathematical model to reflect the correlation between ambient factors and modal frequencies. NLPCA is first used to eliminate the high correlation among different ambient factors and extract the nonlinear principal components. The extracted nonlinear principal components are input into the SVR model for training and predicting. The proposed method is verified by the measured data provided in the Guangzhou New TV Tower (GNTVT) Benchmark. The grid search method (GSM), genetic algorithm (GA) and fruit fly optimization algorithm (FOA) are applied to determine the optimal hyperparameters for the SVR model. The optimized result of FOA is most suitable for the NLPCA-SVR model. As evaluated by the hypothesis test and goodness-of-fit test, the results show that the proposed method has a high generalization performance and the correlation between the ambient factor and modal frequency can be strongly reflected. The proposed method can effectively eliminate the effects of ambient factors on modal frequencies.Due to increasingly complex factors of image degradation, inferring high-frequency details of remote sensing imagery is more difficult compared to ordinary digital photos. This paper proposes an adaptive multi-scale feature fusion network (AMFFN) for remote sensing image super-resolution. Firstly, the features are extracted from the original low-resolution image. Then several adaptive multi-scale feature extraction (AMFE) modules, the squeeze-and-excited and adaptive gating mechanisms are adopted for feature extraction and fusion. Finally, the sub-pixel convolution method is used to reconstruct the high-resolution image. Experiments are performed on three datasets, the key characteristics, such as the number of AMFEs and the gating connection way are studied, and super-resolution of remote sensing imagery of different scale factors are qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. The results show that our method outperforms the classic methods, such as Super-Resolution Convolutional Neural Network(SRCNN), Efficient Sub-Pixel Convolutional Network (ESPCN), and multi-scale residual CNN(MSRN).The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility and validity of using three-dimensional (3D) video data and computer vision to estimate physical activity intensities in young children. Families with children (2-5-years-old) were invited to participate in semi-structured 20-minute play sessions that included a range of indoor play activities. During the play session, children's physical activity (PA) was recorded using a 3D camera. PA video data were analyzed via direct observation, and 3D PA video data were processed and converted into triaxial PA accelerations using computer vision. PA video data from children (n = 10) were analyzed using direct observation as the ground truth, and the Receiver Operating Characteristic Area Under the Curve (AUC) was calculated in order to determine the classification accuracy of a Classification and Regression Tree (CART) algorithm for estimating PA intensity from video data. A CART algorithm accurately estimated the proportion of time that children spent sedentary (AUC = 0.89) in light PA (AUC = 0.87) and moderate-vigorous PA (AUC = 0.92) during the play session, and there were no significant differences (p > 0.05) between the directly observed and CART-determined proportions of time spent in each activity intensity. A computer vision algorithm and 3D camera can be used to estimate the proportion of time that children spend in all activity intensities indoors. This paper proposes a method for determining a pedestrian's indoor location based on an UWB (ultra-wideband) and vison fusion algorithm. Firstly, an UWB localization algorithm based on EKF (extended Kalman filter) is proposed, which can achieve indoor positioning accuracy of 0.3 m. Secondly, a method to solve scale ambiguity and repositioning of the monocular ORB-SLAM (oriented fast and rotated brief-simultaneous localization and mapping) algorithm based on EKF is proposed, which can calculate the ambiguity in real time and can quickly reposition when the vision track fails. Lastly, two experiments were carried out, one in a corridor with sparse texture and the other with the light brightness changing frequently. The results show that the proposed scheme can reliably achieve positioning accuracy on the order of 0.2 m; with the combination of algorithms, the scale ambiguity of monocular ORB-Slam can be solved, with the failed vision trace repositioned by UWB, and the positioning accuracy of UWB can be improved, making it suitable for pedestrian location in indoor environments with sparse texture and frequent light brightness changes.Although Corynebacterium striatum is part of the human flora, it has recently drawn attention both for its multidrug resistance and its role as an invasive infection/outbreak agent. This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the antimicrobial resistance and clonal relationships among C. striatum strains. In total, 81 C. striatum strains were identified using Phoenix-100TM (BD, Sparks, MD, USA). The antimicrobial resistance of the strains was determined using the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. Clonal relatedness among the strains was performed via arbitrarily primed polymerase chain reaction (AP-PCR). All 81 C. striatum strains were resistant to penicillin, cefotaxime, ciprofloxacin, and tetracycline, but susceptible to vancomycin and linezolid. The resistance rates to gentamicin, erythromycin, and clindamycin were 34.6%, 79%, and 87.7% respectively. AP-PCR results showed no predominant clone among the C. striatum strains. Corynebacterium striatum is reportedly the cause of an increasing number of invasive infections/outbreaks. Moreover, treatment options are limited. The study showed that vancomycin, linezolid, and gentamicin can be selected for the empirical treatment of C. striatum infections. Although no single-clone outbreak was observed in our hospital, small clonal circulations were observed within some units, indicating cross-contamination. Therefore, a comprehensive infection control program is warranted in future.Oxidative stress is a common culprit of several conditions associated with male fertility. High levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) promote impairment of sperm quality mainly by decreasing motility and increasing the levels of DNA oxidation. Oxidative stress is a common feature of environmental pollutants, chemotherapy and other chemicals, smoke, toxins, radiation, and diseases that can have negative effects on fertility. Peroxiredoxins (PRDXs) are antioxidant enzymes associated with the protection of mammalian spermatozoa against oxidative stress and the regulation of sperm viability and capacitation. In the present study, we aimed to determine the long-term effects of oxidative stress in the testis, epididymis and spermatozoa using the rat model. Adult male rats were treated with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP) or saline (control group), and reproductive organs and spermatozoa were collected at 3, 6, and 9 weeks after the end of treatment. We determined sperm DNA oxidation and motility, and levels of lipid peroxidation and protein expression of antioxidant enzymes in epididymis and testis. We observed that cauda epididymal spermatozoa displayed low motility and high DNA oxidation levels at all times. Lipid peroxidation was higher in caput and cauda epididymis of treated rats at 3 and 6 weeks but was similar to control levels at 9 weeks. PRDX6 was upregulated in the epididymis due to t-BHP; PRDX1 and catalase, although not significant, followed similar trend of increase. Testis of treated rats did not show signs of oxidative stress nor upregulation of antioxidant enzymes. We concluded that t-BHP-dependent oxidative stress promoted long-term changes in the epididymis and maturing spermatozoa that result in the impairment of sperm quality. We showed that IL-27 shares several effects with IFN-γ in human cancer cells. To identify novel extracellular mediators, potentially involved in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) biology, we analyzed the effect of IL-27 or IFN-γ on the secretome of cultured EOC cells by mass-spectrometry (nano-UHPLC-MS/MS). IL-27 and IFN-γ modulate the release of a limited fraction of proteins among those induced in the whole cell. Bafilomycin A1 molecular weight We focused our attention on GBP1, a guanylate-binding protein and GTPase, which mediates several biological activities of IFNs. Cytokine treatment induced GBP1, 2, and 5 expressions in EOC cells, but only GBP1 was secreted. ELISA and immunoblotting showed that cytokine-stimulated EOC cells release full-length GBP1 in vitro, through non-classical pathways, not involving microvesicles. Importantly, full-length GBP1 accumulates in the ascites of most EOC patients and ex-vivo EOC cells show constitutive tyrosine-phosphorylated STAT1/3 proteins and GBP1 expression, supporting a role for Signal Transducer And Activator Of Transcription (STAT)-activating cytokines in vivo. High GBP1 gene expression correlates with better overall survival in the TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) dataset of EOC. In addition, GBP1 transfection partially reduced EOC cell viability in an MTT assay. Our data show for the first time that cytokine-stimulated tumor cells release soluble GBP1 in vitro and in vivo and suggest that GBP1 may have anti-tumor effects in EOC.Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is an important human pathogen that, along with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), is a major cause of respiratory tract infections in young infants. Development of an effective vaccine against Pneumoviruses has proven to be particularly difficult; despite over 50 years of research in this field, no vaccine against HMPV or RSV is currently available. Recombinant chimeric viruses expressing antigens of other viruses can be generated by reverse genetics and used for simultaneous immunization against more than one pathogen. This approach can result in the development of promising vaccine candidates against HMPV, and several studies have indeed validated viral vectors expressing HMPV antigens. In this review, we summarize current efforts in generating recombinant chimeric vaccines against HMPV, and we discuss their potential optimization based on the correspondence with RSV studies. The world of sports has a complex association to problem gambling, and the sparse research examining problem gambling in athletes has suggested an increased prevalence and particularly high male predominance. The present study aimed to study frequency and correlates of problem gambling in populations with moderate to high involvement in fitness or physical exercise. This is a self-selective online survey focusing on addictive behaviors in physical exercise distributed by 'fitness influencers' on social media and other online fitness forums to their followers. Respondents were included if they reported exercise at least thrice weekly, were above 15 years of age, and provided informed consent (N = 3088). Problem gambling, measured with the Lie/Bet, was studied in association with demographic data, substance use, and mental health variables. The occurrence of lifetime problem gambling was 8 percent (12 percent in men, one percent in women). In logistic regression, problem gambling was associated with male gender, younger age, risky alcohol drinking, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and less frequent exercise habits.
