To assess the efficacy of vitamin E oral spray in pregnancy.

This was a retrospective study aimed to evaluate efficacy of vitamin E oral spray (vitamin E acetate in a medium chain tryglicerides vehicle -patented formulation) starting from the first trimester of pregnancy, with a control group.

A total of100 women were included in the study and were compared with a matched control group. Only 25/200 women reported to have at least one teeth cleaning during pregnancy. Women who received the oral spray had a significantly lower risk of preterm birth compared with the control group, and lower risk of periodontal diseases.

Use of oil-based vitamin E oral spray in pregnancy is associated with a decreased risk of periodontal diseases and therefore preterm birth.

Salivary duct carcinoma (SDC) is a rare and aggressive malignancy. The optimal treatment protocols are debated.

A systematic search and individual patient data analysis of published cases of SDC wasperformed. SPSS v21 wasused for statistical analysis.

Data of 857 patients available. Median overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of the entire cohort 42months and 24months. selleckchem Nodal involvement, males, primary size >5cm, androgen receptor (AR) negativity significantly worse OS. Patients with surgery had a favorable median PFS (p=0.000) and OS (p=0.077). Patients with adjuvant radiation had better PFS (30vs 18months;p=0.077).

SDC has modest survival. Surgery and adjuvant radiation should be advocated for all patients. AR expression appears prognostic for survival.

Anorectal melanoma (AM) is a rare subtype of melanoma.

To study the clinic-pathologic features and outcomes in patients with AM.

Clinical, pathologic findings and outcomes of patients with AM were recorded.

Twenty-seven patients with AM were identified with median age of 57years. Most patients presented in stage III (44.4%). Lymph node involvement was seen in 70.4%. The response to chemotherapy and immunotherapy was 16.6 and 25.0%, respectively. At a median follow up of 11months, median overall survival was 30months. Ballantine stage 3 and weight loss at presentation were predictors of poor survival.

AM presents at an advanced stage with lymph node and distant metastasis.

This study aimed to evaluate if clinical or radiographic findings can be used for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnosis particularly in high-risk patients.

This was a prospective study and evaluated factors associated with HCC.

There were 260 patients met the study criteria 219 patients (84.23%) were HCC. Two factors significantly associated with HCC portal vein invasion and the largest mass size. The cutoff point for the largest mass size of 2cm or over gave sensitivity and specificity for HCC of 83.56 and 87.80%, respectively.

Portal vein invasion and the largest liver mass of 2cm or over may be diagnostic factors for HCC in high-risk patients, while clinical factors were not suggestive for HCC.

Advances in screening, diagnosis, management and survivorship were substantial in the last decades, however, challenges in providing personalized and data-oriented care remain. Artificial intelligence (AI), a branch of computer science used for predictions and automation, has emerged as potential solution to improve the healthcare journey and to promote precision in healthcare. AI applications in oncology include, but are not limited to, optimization of cancer research, improvement of clinical practice (eg., prediction of the association of multiple parameters and outcomes - prognosis and response) and better understanding of tumor molecular biology. In this review, we examine the current state of AI in oncology, including fundamentals, current applications, limitations and future perspectives. The global progress empowers the development of new business and expansion of existing business. The availability of sufficient accounting professional are necessary to manage and document the business activities. However, youth are less inclined to purse accounting as profession to keep the progress of global and local economic development. The current study aimed to explore the formation of the intention to pursue Certified Professional Accountancy Qualification (CPAQ) with factor of capabilities, career opportunities, job security with respect to the extended theory of planned behavior (TPB), i.e., attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. The study adopted a cross-sectional design and collected quantitative data from a total of 339 accounting students from Malaysia using an online survey. The finding revealed that capabilities and career opportunities influenced the students' intention to pursue CPAQ. Meanwhile, perceived behavioral control had significantly affect the students' decision to pursue CPAQ, which is in line with the TPB. The study concentrated on the importance of these factors in influencing the students' intention and decision to pursue CPAQ. The study offered vital implications for accounting educators and educational institutions to promote the accounting profession as choice and students engage in pursuing CPAQ. The Malaysian government should encourage and support accounting students financially for pursuing CPAQ by providing job security and enhancing subjective norms that may enable these students to complete the required professional qualifications. The study's limitations and future research opportunities are documented at the end of this article. One of the popular theories in psychology that potentially contributes to the development of teaching and learning programs is brain dominance. According to this theory, the brain is categorized into two hemispheres based on personal traits and cognitive styles. It is interesting to investigate the correlation between brain dominance and second language learning. Therefore, this study set out to examine the correlation between brain dominance and the development of English reading, and speaking skills. For this purpose, the required data were randomly gathered from 230 sophomore students in four different universities and were analyzed through a Pearson Chi-Square test, a Kruskal-Wallis test, and a Mann-Whitney test. Findings evidenced a significant correlation between brain dominance and reading skills. Three categories of brain dominance groups differ in reading skills in which moderate right-brain shows the highest score. Concerning the speaking skills, however, the results documented no significant correlation between brain dominance and speaking skills. Three groups of brain dominance were not significantly different in three aspects of speaking skills, including accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility. The study concludes by proposing a range of implications and some avenues for further research.
Nurses are facing increasing pressure due to the progressing of society, broadening of nursing service connotation, and increasing of the masses' demand for medical treatment. Psychiatric nurses face suicides, violence, and lost along with other accidents involving patients with mental disorders under higher psychological pressure. A coping style, which is affected by individual emotions and cognition, is an essential psychological resource that allows individuals to regulate stress. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between self-acceptance and the positive coping style of psychiatric nurses, and investigate the mediating role of emotional intelligence.

A total of 813 psychiatric nurses from six natural regions in Shandong Province were investigated using the Self-Acceptance Questionnaire (SAQ), Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS), Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ), and self-compiled general information questionnaire.

The total EIS score of psychiatric nurses was 3.8ence and self-acceptance can promote positive coping styles and improve psychiatric nurses' mental health.

This applies to spoken as well as signed languages. Previous research suggests that spoken language proficiency is associated with resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) between language regions and other regions of the brain. Given the similarities in neural activation for spoken and signed languages, rsFC-behavior associations should also exist for sign language tasks. In this study, we explored the associations between rsFC and two types of linguistic skills in sign language phonological processing skill and accuracy in elicited sentence production. Fifteen adult, deaf early signers were enrolled in a resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study. In addition to fMRI data, behavioral tests of sign language phonological processing and sentence reproduction were administered. Using seed-to-voxel connectivity analysis, we investigated associations between behavioral proficiency and rsFC from language-relevant nodes bilateral inferior frontal gyrus (IFG) and posterior superior temporal gyrus (STG). Results showed that worse sentence processing skill was associated with stronger positive rsFC between the left IFG and left sensorimotor regions. Further, sign language phonological processing skill was associated with positive rsFC from right IFG to middle frontal gyrus/frontal pole although this association could possibly be explained by domain-general cognitive functions. Our findings suggest a possible connection between rsFC and developmental language outcomes in deaf individuals. One of the most remarkable features of human societies is our ability to cooperate with each other. However, the benefits of cooperation are not extended to everyone. Indeed, another hallmark of human societies is a division between us and them. Favoritism toward members of our group can result in a loss of empathy and greater tolerance of harm toward those outside our group. The current study sought to investigate how in-group bias impacts the developmental emergence of concerns for fairness and care. We investigated the impact of in-group bias on decisions related to care and fairness in children (N = 95; ages 4-9). Participants made decisions about how to allocate resources between themselves and a peer who was either an in-group or out-group member. In decisions related to care, participants were given two trial types on which they could decide whether to give or throw away a positive or negative resource. In decisions related to fairness participants and peer partners each received one candy and participants decided whether to allocate or throw away an extra candy.
