tion in RA.Evidence-based interventional radiology is the result of the evolution and integration of evidence-based medicine and interventional radiology. It adopts the concepts and methods of evidence-based medicine to guide the best clinical practice in interventional radiology. We aim to systematically elaborate on the status quo of Clinical Research, Systematic Review/Meta-Analysis and Clinical Practice Guidelines in interventional radiology, analyze the existing problems, and put forward thoughts and suggestions on promoting the development of evidence-based interventional radiology in the future.Skeletal system contains various stem cell niches in which the self-renewal and differentiation of different kinds of stem cells are supported. Stem cell-based therapy has been applicated variedly. The skeletal stem cells (SSC), which are mesenchyme-derived and skeletal-lineage committed progenitors, can be found in the skeletal system. They are able to self-renew and colone both in vivo and in vitro. SSC have the potential of multi-directional differentiation to cartilage, bone, adipocytes and marrow stroma. Several types of SSC have been identified based on lineage tracing and single-cell RNA sequencing technique. Compared to mesenchymal stem cells, SSC are groups of less heterogeneous cells with accurate surface marker and identifiable biological behavior. Thus, clarifying the properties of SSC might provide new insight for stem cell therapy. In this article, the authors retrieved and reviewed SSC researches mainly focusing on the identification, spatio-temporal distribution and functional characteristics of SSC. The application of scRNA-seq in skeletal stem cell identification and functional study was also discussed.Occlusal dysesthesia (OD) or phantom bite syndrome refers to a persistent complaint of uncomfortable bite sensation with no obvious occlusal discrepancy. OD is a rare condition, and is usually associated with emotional distress and triggered by dental treatments. The diagnosis and management of OD patients still remains a major challenge for dental practitioners and affected patients. This topical review aims to describe the properties, etiologies, diagnosis, managements and prognosis of OD comprehensively.Maxillary transverse deficiency is one of the critical manifestations of malocclusion. It is of vital importance to diagnose maxillary transverse deficiency at the early stage because maxillary development in the transverse dimension stops early. Currently, there are several approaches to diagnose maxillary transverse deficiency, including clinical examination, dental cast measurement, poster-anterior cephalogram, and cone-beam CT. This narrative review will review these diagnostic and predictive approaches of maxillary transverse deficiency.To analysis the treatment effectiveness of maxillofacial arteriovenous malformation (AVM) by means of temporary balloon block and percutaneous puncture sclerotherapy. The treatment outcomes of 20 patients with AVM of maxillofacial deformity, aged (26.8±3.0) 18-36 years, from Dec 2012 to Dec 2019 were collected and retrospectively analyzed. All patients had been diagnosed AVM by digital substraction angiography (DSA). All the cases were treated by using balloons to temporary block responsible artery of the AVM in order to change the high-flow malformations into low-flow venous malformation. Then injection of polyethylene foam cinnamyl alcohol was conducted via percutaneous puncturing for hardening the vascular malformation. Comparing the symptoms and imaging changes before treatment with those 1-6 months after treatment according to Achauer curative effect evaluation standard. Totally 60% (12/20) of the cases were type Ⅱa AVM, and their treatments were effective. However, the treatment effects of type Ⅲb and type Ⅳ patients were relatively poor. The clinical effective rate was 85% (17/20), and the clinical curative rate was 50% (10/20). No skin necrosis, organ damage and other serious complications were observed for the 20 patients. The AVM patients with a main supply artery treated by using a balloon artery temporary block to make high flow malformations into low-flow and followed by percutaneous puncture sclerotherapy, could get good curative effect. It seemed that this approach was safe and effective.Objective To establish the animal model of temporomandibular joint osteoarthrosis (TMJOA) in rats induced by perforation of articular disc and evaluate the morphological characteristics and histopathological changes of the condyle of temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Methods Eight male SD rats, purchased from Chongqing Medical University, were marked from No. 1 to No. 8 according to a random number table. The eight numbered rats were then arranged according to their sizes from large to small. The first four rats were divided into the one-week group, while the last four were divided into the four-week group. In order to simulate a TMJ disc perforation, an oblique incision was created along the zygomatic arch of the left side (the model side) making the TMJ superior joint space exposed. The left disc was pulled out and artificially perforated by a dental round bur with 1.5 mm diameter at the postmedian part of TMJ disc. The disc of the right side (the control side) was kept intact. The rats were randomly euthanizehe model side of the 4-week-group. Safranin O and fast green staining showed that the amounts of proteoglycan on the model sides of the 1-week-group and the 4-week-group were significantly lower than that on the control sides (P less then 0.01). TRAP staining showed that the numbers of osteoclasts on the model side of the 1-week-group and the 4-week-group was significantly higher than that on the control sides (P less then 0.01). IHC staining and Haematoxylin staining showed that the mean optical densities of collagen on the model side of the 1-week-group and the 4-week-group was significantly reduced compared with that on the control sides (P less then 0.01), while the mean optical densities of matrix metalloproteinase increased significantly (P less then 0.01). Conclusions After making a articular disc perforation, the condylar cartilage on the model side presented typical TMJOA pathological changes.Objective To investigate the effects of different surface treatments protocol on the bonding strength between lithium disilicate glass ceramic and resin cements. Methods Ceramic specimens of 15 mm×13 mm×3 mm were used to evaluate the effects of different surface treatments of hydrofluoric acid etching and silane coupling in current research. Firstly, the standard lithium ceramic specimens were divided into 8 groups (n=16), and were etched by 4.5% hydrofluoric acid for 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 120 and180 s. Then specimens in each group was further divided into two sub-groups. In one sub-group specimens were coated with coupling agents and in the other were not. Shear bonding strength (SBS) and failure mode were tested and analyzed. The surface morphologies of hydrofluoric acid-etched ceramic specimens were observed by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Secondly, after being etched by 4.5% hydrofluoric acid for 30 s, the lithium ceramic specimens were coated with coupling agents at different temperatures roore applied additionally. Methods This study was a prospective cohort study. One hundred elderly mellitus patients, 53 males and 47 females, aged 65-95 years old (75.8±8.0), were recruited for tooth extraction at the ECG monitoring out-patient clinic in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology from Oct 2018 to Oct 2019. Fifty cases were selected into the observation group with FPG>8.88 mmol/L and ≤10.00 mmol/L before tooth extraction, while the rest 50 cases were in the control group with FPG≤8.88 mmol/L. The levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) of patients were required to be≤8.5% before tooth extraction in both groups. Post-operative pain, swelling, pus discharge, fistula at local sockets and systemic fever were observed 24 h and 1 week after the extraction. The healing of tissues around the extraction socket was observmol/L and HbA1c≤8.5% are reasonable creteria for evaluating tooth extraction risk for the elderly diabetic patients.Objective To investigate the correlation between tooth movement and profile change in patients with class Ⅱ division 1 malocclusion. Methods Pre- and post-treatment lateral cephalograms of 42 patients [10 males and 32 females, (23.8±6.3) years old, mean treatment time 1.9 years] with class Ⅱ division 1 malocclusion were collected in Department of Oral & Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from June 2012 to November 2017. The patients were treated with extraction of four first premolars or two maxillary first premolars. Cephalometric analysis was carried out before and after treatment. Thirty parameters were measured.
