Further research on this area is highly recommended.Loss-of-function variants in PHD Finger Protein 8 (PHF8) cause Siderius X-linked intellectual disability (ID) syndrome, hereafter called PHF8-XLID. PHF8 is a histone demethylase that is important for epigenetic regulation of gene expression. PHF8-XLID is an under-characterized disorder with only five previous reports describing different PHF8 predicted loss-of-function variants in eight individuals. Features of PHF8-XLID include ID and craniofacial dysmorphology. In this report we present 16 additional individuals with PHF8-XLID from 11 different families of diverse ancestry. We also present five individuals from four different families who have ID and a variant of unknown significance in PHF8 with no other explanatory variant in another gene. All affected individuals exhibited developmental delay and all but two had borderline to severe ID. Of the two who did not have ID, one had dyscalculia and the other had mild learning difficulties. Craniofacial findings such as hypertelorism, microcephaly, elongated face, ptosis, and mild facial asymmetry were found in some affected individuals. Orofacial clefting was seen in three individuals from our cohort, suggesting that this feature is less common than previously reported. Autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which were not previously emphasized in PHF8-XLID, were frequently observed in affected individuals. This series expands the clinical phenotype of this rare ID syndrome caused by loss of PHF8 function.This article details how and why we have developed a flexible and responsive process-based rubric exemplar for teaching, learning, and assessing critical and creative thinking. We hope to contribute to global discussions of and efforts toward instrumentalising the challenge of assessing, but not standardising, creativity in compulsory education. Here, we respond to the key ideas of the four interrelated elements in the critical and creative thinking general capability in the Australian Curriculum learning continuum inquiring; generating ideas, possibilities, actions; reflecting on thinking processes; and analysing, synthesising and evaluating reasoning and procedures. The rubrics, radical because they privilege process over outcome, have been designed to be used alongside the current NAPLAN tests in Years 5, 7 and 9 to build an Australian-based national creativity measure. We provide new empirical evidence that gives an affirmative answer to the first question together with a unified neural dynamic model that gives an affirmative answer to the second question.In the perceptual and cognitive domains, habituation is the weakening of an orientation response to a stimulus over perceptual experience. Switching to a novel stimulus leads to dishabituation, the re-establishment of the orientation response. In Spencer-Thompson dishabituation, the renewed orientation response transfers to the original (familiar) stimulus. The change in orientation responses over perceptual experience explains infants' behavior in preferential looking tasks Familiarity preference (looking longer at familiar than at novel stimuli) early during exposure and novelty preference (looking longer at novel than at familiar stimuli) late during exposure. In the motor domain, perseveration in the A not B task could be interpreted as a form of familiarity preference. There are hints that this preference reverses after enough experience with the familiar movement. We provide a unified account for habituation and patterns of preferential selection in which neural dynamic fields generate perceptual or motor representations. The build-up of activation in excitatory fields leads to familiarity preference, the build-up of activation in inhibitory fields leads to novelty preference. We show that the model accounts for the new experimental evidence for motor habituation, but is also compatible with earlier accounts for perceptual habituation and motor perseveration. We discuss how excitatory and inhibitory memory traces may regulate exploration and exploitation for both orientation to objects and motor behaviors.Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating antineoplastic agent, and it is one of the most successful drugs with wide arrays of clinical activity. It has been in use for several types of cancer treatments and as an immunosuppressive agent for the management of autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. Nowadays, its clinical use is limited due to various toxicities, including nephrotoxicity. Even though the mechanisms are not well understood, cyclophosphamide-induced nephrotoxicity is reported to be mediated through oxidative stress. This review focuses on the potential role of natural and plant-derived antioxidants in preventing cyclophosphamide-induced nephrotoxicity.Service robots are emerging quickly in the marketplace (e.g., in hotels, restaurants, and healthcare), especially as COVID-19-related health concerns and social distancing guidelines have affected people's desire and ability to interact with other humans. However, while robots can increase efficiency and enable service offerings with reduced human contact, prior research shows a systematic consumer aversion toward service robots relative to human service providers. This potential dilemma raises the managerial question of how firms can overcome consumer aversion and better employ service robots. Drawing on prior research that supports the use of language for building interpersonal relationships, this research examines whether the type of language (social-oriented vs. task-oriented language) a service robot uses can improve consumer responses to and evaluations of the focal service robot, particularly in light of consumers' COVID-19-related stress. The results show that consumers respond more favorably to a service robot that uses a social-oriented (vs. task-oriented) language style, particularly when these consumers experience relatively higher levels of COVID-19-related stress. These findings contribute to initial empirical evidence in marketing for the efficacy of leveraging robots' language style to improve customer evaluations of service robots, especially under stressful circumstances. Overall, the results from two experimental studies not only point to actionable managerial implications but also to a new avenue of research on service robots that examines customer-robot interactions through the lens of language and in contexts that can be stressful for consumers (e.g., healthcare or some financial service settings).

Accordingly, properly wearing face masks has become vital as an effective way to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19. This research develops an Efficient Mask-Net method for low-power devices, such as mobile and embedding models with low-memory requirements. The method identifies face mask-wearing conditions in two different schemes I. Correctly Face Mask (CFM), Incorrectly Face Mask (IFM), and Not Face Mask (NFM) wearing; II. Uncovered Chin IFM, Uncovered Nose IFM, and Uncovered Nose and Mouth IFM. The proposed method can also be helpful to unmask the face for face authentication based on unconstrained 2D facial images in the wild. In this study, deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) were employed as feature extractors. Then, deep features were fed to a recently proposed large margin piecewise linear (LMPL) classifier. In the experimental study, lightweight and very powerful mobile implementation of CNN models were evaluated, where the novel "EffientNetb0" deep feature extractor with LMPL classifier outperformed well-known end-to-end CNN models, as well as conventional image classification methods. It achieved high accuracies of 99.53 and 99.64% in fulfilling the two mentioned tasks, respectively.Despite their excellent, useful, and stable properties, thermoplastics are constantly subject to environmental risks because of their low degradability under thermal, chemical, and mechanical stresses. To overcome the aforementioned issues, we hereby introduce an eco-friendly camphor (Ct) cyclic diester. The Ct diester is designed as a monomer, including a ketal group from the Ct, and shows high thermal stability via a rigid spiro-ring and a bridged bicyclic structure. learn more A series of polyester was synthesized using the Ct diester, including various types of diols and dimethyl terephthalate. PETxCty copolyesters showed appropriate thermal stability up to 414 °C and a high glass transition temperature. This thermal behavior led to amorphous regions as the Ct diester content increased. Regarding the proportion of the Ct diester in the polyester, it was sensitive to hydrolysis and contributed to the degradation of the polyester in acid buffer conditions.Polypropylene is one of the most widely used polymers, especially in the food packaging industry, which causes negative environmental effects. Recycling is a good option to partially solve this environmental problem. Thus, the polymer was contaminated with a cocktail to simulate the conditions of disposal and recycling following FDA guidelines. The influence of contaminants on recycled PP was analyzed by quiescent and nonquiescent crystallization. It was found that the contaminants alter the crystallization flow since longer induction times were observed for all contaminated samples. Also, the thermal behavior was performed considering that the thermogravimetric (TGA) results indicated an increase in the stability with the presence of contaminants. Therefore, a deep investigation using the induced oxidation time and induced oxidation temperature was performed. The contaminants play an important role in the crystallization process, as well as, in the degradation of the samples. Furthermore, the use of TGA and DSC as complementary techniques is fundamental to analyze this influence.
Many patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are asymptomatic or infected by unclear infection routes. Significant group infections may result from transmission in schools, and thus, it is necessary to improve infection control efficiency in schools by identifying the factors associated with the performance of COVID-19 infection control by school health nurses.
The participants were 130 school health nurses in Korea. The survey variables included knowledge of COVID-19, infection control attitude, job stress, and school organizational culture.
The results demonstrated that among the variables, infection control attitude, job stress, and the level of infection control in schools perceived by school health nurses were significant. The explanatory power of the model including these variables was 25.8% (F=14.39,

The results showed that the infection control attitude and job stress of school health nurses had a significant effect on their infection control performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
