Besiktas open new home after three years.

Besiktas, one of Turkey's most successful football clubs, returned home Sunday with the opening of their new 42,000-seat stadium overlooking the Bosphorous.
The club, which currently tops the Super Lig, has been forced to play at stadia around the country for the last three years while the old Inonu Stadium - Besiktas's home since 1947 - was rebuilt.

Kobe Bryant Final Game

Kobe Bryant went out with a Hollywood ending to his remarkable career.
Bryant scored 60 points in his final game on Wednesday night, wrapping up 20 years in the NBA with an unbelievable offensive showcase during the Los Angeles Lakers' 101-96 victory over the Utah Jazz.
He scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, posting his first 50-point game since February 2009 and rallying the Lakers from a 15-point deficit to win the final game of their worst season in franchise history.

Trabzonspor v Fenerbahce abandoned after fan attacks referee on pitch

A football game in Turkey has had to be abandoned after an assistant referee was assaulted on the pitch by a fan. Trabzonspor were 4-0 down in extra time against Fenerbahce at home in the Super Lig on 24 April, when one fan ran onto the pitch, pushed the official, Volkan Bayarslan, to the ground, and then punched him in the face.

Riot police made their way onto the pitch, and the game was immediately called off. Both sets of players and the referees then ran off the field.

Turkish tennis player Çağla Büyükakçay wins 2016 TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup

Turkish tennis player Çağla Büyükakçay made history as she became the first Turkish woman to win a Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles title through a 2-1 win against Danka Kovinic from Montenegro on Sunday.

Initially losing the first set 3-6, Büyükakçay managed to win two sets by 6-2 and 6-3 in the final match of TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup played in Garanti Koza Arena.

Fenerbahçe reach Euroleague Final Four after beating Real Madrid

There will be a new Euroleague champion after Fenerbahçe Ülker defeated Real Madrid 63-75
to sweep the champs and advance to the Final Four. Madrid will miss the Final Four after three straight championship appearances
