This information may be useful in determining the role of 5-HT in breast milk on infant development and growth.In Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), radio frequency (RF) coils of different forms and shapes are used to maximize signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). RF coils are designed for clinical applications and have dimensions comparable with the target body part to be imaged, and they perform best when loaded by human tissue majority of which have conductivity values higher than 0.5 S/m. However, they are not properly tuned and matched for samples having low conductivity such as solid samples with low water content. Moreover, for samples with low filling factor and low conductivity, the noise in MRI is dominated by RF coil losses. In this case, RF coil design can be optimized to improve image SNR. Here, a new software tool (Multi-parameter Analytical Method for B1 and SNR Analysis) MAMBA is presented to design and compare volume coils of birdcage, solenoid, and loop-gap design for these samples. The input parameters of the tool are the sample properties, the coil design and the hardware properties, of which a relative SNR is determined. For that, a figure of merit is calculated from the coil sensitivity, applied resonant frequency and the resistive losses of sample, coil and capacitive components. The tool was tested in an ancient Egyptian mummy head which represents an extreme case of MRI with short T2*. Two optimized birdcage coils were designed using MAMBA, constructed and compared to a commercial transmit receive head coil. Calculated relative SNR values are in good agreement with the measurements.Brassinosteroids (BRs) regulate a variety of physiological processes in plants via extensive crosstalk with diverse biological signaling networks. Although BRs are known to reciprocally regulate circadian oscillation, the molecular mechanism underlying BR-mediated regulation of circadian clock remains unknown. Here, we demonstrate that the BR-activated transcription factor bri1-EMS-SUPPRESSOR 1 (BES1) integrates BR signaling into the circadian network in Arabidopsis. BES1 repressed expression of CIRCADIAN CLOCK-ASSOCIATED 1 (CCA1) and LATE ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL (LHY) at night by binding to their promoters, together with TOPLESS (TPL). The repression of CCA1 and LHY by BR treatment, which occurred during the night, was compromised in bes1-ko and tpl-8 mutants. Consistently, long-term treatment with BR shortened the circadian period, and BR-induced rhythmic shortening was impaired in bes1-ko and tpl-8 single mutants and in the cca1-1lhy-21 double mutant. Overall, BR signaling is conveyed to the circadian oscillator via the BES1/TPL-CCA1/LHY module, contributing to gating diurnal BR responses in plants.The exponential growth in demand for electric vehicles (EVs) necessitates increasing supplies of low-cost and high-performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Naturally, the ramp-up in LIB production raises concerns over raw material availability, where constraints can generate severe price spikes and bring the momentum and optimism of the EV market to a halt. Particularly, the reliance of cobalt in the cathode is concerning owing to its high cost, scarcity, and centralized and volatile supply chain structure. Here, we show that in lung cancer, interaction between paxillin (PXN) and integrin β4 (ITGB4), components of the focal adhesion (FA) complex, contributes to cisplatin resistance. Knocking down PXN and ITGB4 attenuated cell growth and improved cisplatin sensitivity, both in 2D and 3D cultures. PXN and ITGB4 independently regulated expression of several genes. In addition, they also regulated expression of common genes including USP1 and VDAC1, which are required for maintaining genomic stability and mitochondrial function, respectively. Mathematical modeling suggested that bistability could lead to stochastic phenotypic switching between cisplatin-sensitive and resistant states in these cells. In parallel, we uncovered that P. polymyxa CR1 3) induces the expression of two DRGs, Response to Desiccation (RD)29A and RD29B, 4) of which pattern upregulations are controlled by a diurnal rhythm. Besides, RD29A and RD29B act as 5) 'memory' genes; their transcript levels are increased to a greater extent when plants encountered P. polymyxa CR1 for the second time compared to an initial exposure.
