According to SEM and TEM data, a mixture of particles with sizes of 8-30 nm and 400-800 nm (Co-Fe/PDPA) and 23-50 nm and 400-1100 nm (Co-Fe/SWCNT/PDPA) is formed in the nanocomposites. learn more The obtained multifunctional Co-Fe/PDPA and Co-Fe/SWCNT/PDPA nanomaterials demonstrate good thermal, electrical and magnetic properties. The saturation magnetization of the nanomaterials is M S = 14.99-31.32 emu g-1 (Co-Fe/PDPA) and M S = 29.48-48.84 emu g-1 (Co-Fe/SWCNT/PDPA). The electrical conductivity of the nanomaterials reaches 3.5 × 10-3 S cm-1 (Co-Fe/PDPA) and 1.3 S cm-1 (Co-Fe/SWCNT/PDPA). In an inert medium, at 1000 °C the residue is 71-77%.A solid-state potentiometric biosensor based on the organic and inorganic mixed phase modification of a silver surface is proposed. Stabilization of the electromotive force and functionalization with biomolecules on the sensing surface were simultaneously achieved using silver chloride chemically deposited with 1,3-diaminopropanetetraacetic acid ferric ammonium salt monohydrate and a self-assembled monolayer with oligonucleotide probes, respectively. The formation of silver chloride and adsorption of alkanethiol on the silver surface were confirmed with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The resulting modified surface reduced the nonspecific binding of interfering biomolecules and achieved a high signal to noise ratio. The electromotive forces of the modified silver thin film electrodes were stable under constant chloride ion concentrations. Hybridization assays were performed to detect microRNA 146. The lower limit of detection was 0.1 pM because of the small standard deviation. The proposed biosensor could be useful as a disposable single-use sensor in medical fields such as liquid biopsies. The one-step synthesis of dimethyl ether over mechanical mixtures of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 (CZA) and γ-Al2O3 was studied in a wide range of process conditions. Experiments were performed at an industrially relevant pressure of 50 bar varying the carbon oxide ratio in the feed (CO2 in CO x from 20 to 80%), temperature (503-533 K), space-time (240-400 kgcat s mgas -3), and the CZA-to-γ-Al2O3 weight ratio (from 1 to 5). Factors favoring the DME production in the investigated range of conditions are an elevated temperature, a low CO2 content in the feed, and a CZA-to-γ-Al2O3 weight ratio of 2. A lumped kinetic model was parameterized to fit the experimental data, resulting in one of the predictive models with the broadest range of validity in the open literature for the CZA/γ-Al2O3 system. The metal-free thermal organocatalytic pinacol coupling of arylaldehydes has been developed. The intermolecular coupling of arylaldehydes catalyzed by t-butyl isonicotinate with bis(pinacolato)diboron as the co-reducing agent afforded 1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-diols. This reaction was also applicable to the intramolecular coupling of 1,1'-biphenyl-2,2'-dicarbaldehydes to afford 9,10-dihydrophenanthrene-9,10-diols. Various functional groups were tolerated under this coupling condition.Use of plant extracts for the synthesis of various metal nanoparticles has gained much importance recently because it is a simple, less hazardous, conservative and cost-effective method. In this research work, platinum nanoparticles were synthesized by treating platinum ions with the leaf extract of Psidium guajava and their structural properties were studied using various characterization techniques. The formation of platinum nanoparticles was confirmed by the disappearance of the absorbance peak at 261 nm in UV-visible spectra. The results of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis showed functional moieties responsible for bio-reduction of metal ions and stabilization of platinum nanoparticles. The use of dynamic light scattering (DLS) imaging techniques confirmed the formation of stable monodispersed platinum nanoparticles showing a zeta potential of -23.4 mV. The morphological examination using high resolution transmission electron microsce decrease in the distribution of cells in the S and G2/M phases. The anti-bacterial activity of bio-synthesized platinum nanoparticles was evaluated against four pathogenic bacteria i.e. B. cereus (Gram positive), P. aeruginosa (Gram negative), K. pneumonia (Gram negative) and E. coli (Gram negative). The biosynthesized platinum nanoparticles were found to show dose-dependent inhibition against pathogenic bacteria with a significant effect on Gram-negative bacteria compared to Gram-positive bacteria. This synergistic blend of green and simplistic synthesis coupled with anti-proliferative and anti-bacterial properties makes these biogenic nanoparticles suitable in nanomedicine. Most highly efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF)-based organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are multi-layer devices fabricated by thermal vacuum evaporation techniques, which are unfavorable for real applications. However, there are only a few reported examples of efficient solution-processed TADF OLEDs, in particular TADF polymer OLEDs. Herein, a series of solution-processable TADF conjugated polymers (PCTXO/PCTXO-Fx (x = 25, 50 and 75)) were designed and synthesized by copolymerization of 2-(4-(diphenylamino)-phenyl)-9H-thioxanthen-9-one-10,10-dioxide (TXO-TPA) as a red/orange emissive TADF unit, 9,9'-((fluorene-9,9-diyl)-bis(octane-8,1-diyl))-bis(3,6-di-tert-butylcarbazole) as host/hole-transporting unit and 2,7-N-(heptadecan-9-yl)carbazole as a conjugated linker and solubilizing group. They possessed a conjugated backbone with donor TPA-carbazole/fluorene moieties and a pendent acceptor 9H-thioxanthen-9-one-10,10-dioxide (TXO) forming a twisted donor-acceptor structure. These polymers in neat films displayed red/orange color emissions (601-655 nm) with TADF properties, proved by theory calculations and transient PL decay measurements. Their hole-transporting capability was improved when the content of 9,9'-((fluorene-9,9-diyl)-bis(octane-8,1-diyl))-bis(3,6-di-tert-butylcarbazole) within the polymers increased. All polymers were successfully employed as emitters in solution-processed OLEDs. In particular, the doped OLED fabricated with PCTXO exhibited an intense deep orange emission at 603 nm with the best electroluminescence performance (a maximum external quantum efficiency 10.44%, a maximum current efficiency of 14.97 cd A-1 and a turn-on voltage of 4.2 V).Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are promising wearable electronic power sources. However, solid-state electrolytes with high ionic conductivities and long-term stabilities are still challenging to fabricate for high-performance ZIBs. Herein, locust bean gum (LBG) was used as a natural bio-polymer to prepare a free-standing quasi-solid-state ZnSO4/MnSO4 electrolyte. The as-obtained LBG electrolyte showed high ionic conductivity reaching 33.57 mS cm-1 at room temperature. This value is so far the highest among the reported quasi-solid-state electrolytes. Besides, the as-obtained LBG electrolyte displayed excellent long-term stability toward a Zn anode. The application of the optimized LBG electrolyte in Zn-MnO2 batteries achieved a high specific capacity reaching up to 339.4 mA h g-1 at 0.15 A g-1, a superior rate performance of 143.3 mA h g-1 at 6 A g-1, an excellent capacity retention of 100% over 3300 cycles and 93% over 4000 cycles combined with a wide working temperature range (0-40 °C) and good mechanical flexibility (capacity retention of 80.74% after 1000 bending cycles at a bending angle of 90°). In sum, the proposed ZIBs-based LBG electrolyte with high electrochemical performance looks promising for the future development of bio-compatible and environmentally friendly solid-state energy storage devices.Nanocomposites of CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloy nanoparticle-activated carbon (HEA NPs-AC) were prepared by a facile and controllable impregnation-adsorption method. The HEA NPs-AC showed excellent catalytic performance in the degradation of methylene blue (MB) without any peroxide addition. Besides, their reaction rate is also competitive among single-element and other catalysts. The outstanding efficiency is attributed to the coupling effects of the solid-solution structure of HEA NPs, and the large specific surface area and substantial reaction channels of AC. Moreover, the HEA NPs embedded in distinctive porous architectures accelerate the electron transfer and the mass transport as nanoscale galvanic cells in active bond breaking of MB. The nanocomposites of HEA NPs-AC are distinguished by containing non-noble metals and having high catalytic performance due to the synergetic degradation, providing a better alternative for efficient metal catalysis.Exploring a robust, extremely sensitive, cost-effective and reliable assay platform for the precise analysis of dopamine (DA) has become a big challenge predominantly at the clinical level. To participate in this quest, herein, we fabricated a perylene diimide (PDI) self-assembled graphitic surface of the graphitic pencil electrode (GPE) anchored copper oxide (CuO). The self-assembled N-rich PDI led to the fast movement of ions by decreasing the bandgap and improved the electron transport kinetics with more exposed catalytic active sites, thus resulting in the robust electrochemical sensing of DA. The designed sensor exhibited good sensitivity (4 μM-1 cm-2), high structural stability, repeatability and excellent reproducibility with an RSD value of 2.9%. Moreover, the developed system showed a wide linear range (5 μM to 500 μM) and reliable selectivity even in the presence of co-existing interferants, such as ascorbic acid and uric acid. The fabricated nanohybrid was eventually employed to analyze DA in spiked physiological fluids and provided satisfactory recoveries. The designed PDI-CuO based interface also showed a very low detection limit of 6 nM (S/N = 3), consequently confirming its suitability for clinical and biological applications.A novel one-dimensional (1D) hybrid [Re6S8(PzH)6][Pb3I8(DMF)2]·6(DMF) with hexarhenium cluster cations has been synthesized and characterized by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Two DMF oxygen atoms bridge three lead iodides to form a set of lead iodides, [PbI4/2I(ODMF)1/2][PbI4/2(ODMF)2/2][PbI4/2I(ODMF)1/2]2-, and these sets of lead iodide share edges to form a 1D lead iodide chain, [Pb3I8(DMF)2]2- which has never been reported before and is different from the typical edge sharing of octahedral PbI6 units. 1D lead iodide chains are stacked along the a axis, and [Re6S8(PzH)6]2+ cations with H-bonded DMF molecules to pyrazole N-H reside between 1D lead iodide chains. This 1D lead iodide hybrid shows strong broad-band emission with a peak at 634 nm. The excellent photoluminescent properties of the new lead iodide hybrid exhibit great potential for optoelectronic applications in photonic devices with broad-band emission and stability. This study introduces a new class of lead iodide hybrid compounds having new inorganic cluster cations rather than the organic amine cations that have been used in numerous studies to date. This work opens a promising path to overcome the instability of perovskites including of organic amine cations.
