Premature ventricular contractions are the most common type of arrhythmia. The clinical symptoms are mainly palpitations. In severe cases, syncope, angina pectoris and heart failure may occur, which seriously affect people's lives and ability to work. Antiarrhythmic drugs have many side effects and should not be taken for long periods. Acupuncture has a significant effect on the treatment of premature ventricular contractions. Therefore, to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in the treatment of premature ventricular contractions, we conducted this study, with the goal of providing a scientific methodology for this alternative treatment.

We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, China Science Journal Database, and China Biomedical Literature Database. buy Y-27632 We selected all randomized clinical trials related to the use of acupuncture in the treatment of premature ventricular contractions published on or before October 10, 2021, and we will conduct literature screening and data extraction based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. We will use the bias risk assessment tool from the Cochrane Systematic Review Manual to evaluate the quality of the research selected for inclusion in our study. link2 RevMan5.3 software will be used to perform statistical analysis on the data.

The results of this study will provide evidence for the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in the treatment of premature ventricular contractions.

The purpose of this study is to explore the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of patients with premature ventricular contractions and to provide an effective reference for clinicians and patients on its use.

Constipation, which is not an organic disease in the lower gastrointestinal tract, is a gastrointestinal symptom characteristic of elderly patients. Complaints of dyschezia increase with age, and it is difficult to treat in many cases. This study aimed to determine the appropriate treatment and its effects on intestinal immunity in elderly patients experiencing chronic constipation.

Patients experiencing difficulty defecating were randomly divided into 2 groups. Group A was given only laxatives, whereas Group B was given laxatives combined with probiotics as an intervention. Both groups were compared based on the degree of improvement in constipation and its effects on the intestinal environment.

There was a significant improvement in constipation of elderly patients when probiotics were administered in combination with a laxative, suggesting that it may be a more effective treatment. Furthermore, the changes in the intestinal flora, examined before and after the intervention, tended to be associated with improvement of constipation.

The results indicated that the improvement of intestinal flora was somewhat achieved by relieving constipation. Because intestinal bacteria significantly influence intestinal immunity and, thus, systemic immunity of the entire body, the development of better treatments for constipation would help to improve both the intestinal environment and immune function in the elderly.

The present study is aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of tenofovir (TDF) and telbivudine (TBV) in interrupting hepatitis B virus (HBV) mother-to-child transmission (MTCT), and to provide evidence-based treatment options to clinicians and patients.Hepatitis B e-antigen (HBeAg)-positive pregnant women (644 in total) with high HBV DNA load (≥2 × 105 IU/mL) and who received TDF (n = 214) or TBV (n = 380) in the second or third trimester, or received no treatment (n = 50) were included in this retrospective analysis.HBV DNA levels in mothers at delivery were significantly lower than baseline in the 2 treatment groups. HBV DNA levels in the TDF group were significantly different between the mothers receiving treatment in the second trimester and those receiving treatment in the third trimester; however, significant difference was not observed in the TBV group. The proportion of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive infants at the age of 7 to 12 months in the TDF, TBV, and control groupV MTCT.
Ocular myasthenia gravis (MG) is the mainly widespread type of MG among juveniles. Buzhong Yiqi decoction (BZ) is a well-known traditional Chinese medicine prescription for treating MG. It has rarely been discussed whether the concentration of anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibodies is related to the clinical status of juvenile ocular myasthenia gravis (JOMG) treated with BZ.The patients with JOMG who had more than once AChR-antibody (ab) test and treated with BZ were retrospectively identified from June 2013 to January 2020 in the first hospital in Shijiazhuang. The presence or absence of ocular symptoms was used to grade the effectiveness of treatment. Generalized estimating equations logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the effect of AChR ab concentration on the clinical status of MG.A total of 549 AChR-ab tests were performed in 135 patients, and the corresponding clinical status was recorded. One hundred two patients received treatment with BZ only and 33 combined with immunosuppressas used to grade the effectiveness of treatment. Generalized estimating equations logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the effect of AChR ab concentration on the clinical status of MG.A total of 549 AChR-ab tests were performed in 135 patients, and the corresponding clinical status was recorded. One hundred two patients received treatment with BZ only and 33 combined with immunosuppressive drugs. In the group receiving only BZ treatment, the anti-acetylcholine receptor ab concentration was positively correlated with the clinical score after treatment. The results suggest that BZ could affect the AChR-ab. Repeated AChR-ab assays can provide information about the clinical status. link3 For JOMG patients who only receive Buzhong Yiqi Decoction treatment, this can support treatment decisions.
Chronic nephritis is a common kidney disease that afflicts people worldwide. The disease has main manifestations of proteinuria, hematuria, edema, and hypertension that are associated with kidney-damaging processes that eventually lead to kidney failure. Traditional Chinese medicine involving combination treatment with herbal remedies and acupuncture has been shown clinically to alleviate chronic nephritis, although to date no systematic review of the efficacy of this combination treatment for this purpose has been reported, prompting this study. Here we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of published randomized clinical trials to scientific evidence and credible medical references supporting the clinical efficacy of this combination treatment when used to treat chronic nephritis.

We will search the following 8 electronic Chinese and English databases Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Scientific Journal Database, and the Wanfang database. All electronic databases will be searched from inception to October 10, 2021. All statistical analyses will be performed using Review Manager Version 5.4 provided by the Cochrane Collaboration Network.

The protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis will be applied to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of chronic nephritis.

We plan to submit the results of this research to a peer-reviewed journal.

Identifying the prevalence of anxiety, depression, and stress among teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Systematic review of original studies published in any language. Protocol published in PROSPERO under number CRD42021240543. The search was carried out in the Web of Science, PsycINFO, Pubmed, Embase, LILACS, and SciELO databases, using the descriptors anxiety, depression, stress, teacher, faculty, COVID-19, and their synonyms. Narrative synthesis was carried out in line with the synthesis without meta-analysis in systematic reviews.

Of the 1372 records identified, 6 studies, all cross-sectional, were included in the review. The studies were carried out in China, Brazil, the United States of America, India, and Spain. Five studies included more women than men. The participants were aged from 24 to 60 years. Three studies included only school teachers, 2 included schools and universities teachers, and 1 only university teachers. Of the 5 studies, all dealt with remote activities and only 1 included teachers who returned to face-to-face classes 1 to 2 weeks ago. The prevalence of anxiety ranged from 10% to 49.4%, and depression from 15.9% to 28.9%, being considerably higher in studies with teachers who worked in schools. The prevalence of stress ranged from 12.6% to 50.6%.

The prevalence of anxiety, depression, and stress was high among teachers during the pandemic, with great variation between studies. Anxiety and stress were more prevalent in the Spanish study. The results show the need for measures for the care of teachers' mental health, especially when returning to face-to-face classes.

Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is one of the most common adverse events of anticancer therapies, with an incidence of up to 90%, which seriously affects the quality of life in cancer patients. Complementary and alternative therapies for CRF include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tai Chi, Qigong, and massage therapy. Several studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exercise therapies, such as Tai Chi, Ba Duan Jin, the classics of tendon changing, Six Healing Sounds, and Wu Qin Xi, can improve CRF, anxiety symptoms, and sleep quality in cancer patients. However, their specific efficacy and which TCM exercise therapy is the best remain controversial. In this study, we assess and compare the effects of different TCM exercise therapies on CRF, anxiety, and sleep quality in cancer patients by network meta-analysis (NMA).

Randomized controlled trials reporting TCM exercise therapies for CRF, anxiety and sleep quality in cancer patients published before October 2021 will be searched in the PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane Library, Embase, China Scientific Journal Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and Wanfang Data.
