1%, respectively. Besides, the AeMBR was achieved above 99% NH4+-N removal and not adversely affected by varying operation conditions of AnoxMBBR. A slight increase in selected phthalic acid ester (PAE) concentrations (diethyl phthalate (DEP), di (2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP)) was detected in the AnoxMBR, and complete PAEs removal was attained in the AeMBR. Mg, Al, Si, Na, Fe was detected by SEM-EDX analyses in both biofilm of AnoxMBBR and the cake layers of AeMBR. Nitrobacter and Nitratireductor which showed a relatively high abundance played an important role in the removal of NH4+-N and COD in LFL. The results confirmed that the proposed sequence is efficient for COD removal, nitrogen removal, and PAEs being an acceptable treatment for landfill leachates.
Ambient air pollution is among the greatest environmental risks to human health. However, little is known about the health effects of nitrogen dioxide (NO
), a traffic-related air pollutant. Herein, we aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to investigate the long-term effects of NO
on mortality.

We conducted a systematic search for studies that were published up to February 2020 and performed a meta-analysis of all available epidemiologic studies evaluating the associations between long-term exposure to NO
with all-cause, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortality. Overall pooled effect estimates as well as subgroup-specific pooled estimates (e.g. location, exposure assessment method, exposure metric, study population, age at recruitment, and key confounder adjustment) and 95% confidence intervals were calculated using random-effects models. Risk of bias assessment was accessed by following WHO global air quality guidelines. Publication bias was accessed by visually inspecting funnel plot and Egger's linerong-term exposure to NO2, a proxy for traffic-sourced air pollutants, is associated with a higher risk of all-cause, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortality that might be independent of other common air pollutants. In nature, a multitude of factors influences the fitness of an organism at a given time, which makes single stressor assessments far from ecologically relevant scenarios. This study focused on the effects of water temperature and predation stress on the metabolism and body mass gain of a common intertidal rock pool fish, Gobius paganellus, addressing the following hypotheses (1) the energy metabolism of G. paganellus under predation stress is reduced; (2) G. paganellus shows thermal compensation under heat stress; and (3) thermal stress is the dominant stressor that may override predation stress responses. Individuals were exposed to simulated predation stress and temperature increase from 20 °C to 29 °C, and both stressors combined. Physiological effects were addressed using biochemical biomarkers related with energy metabolism (isocitrate dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase, energy available, energy consumption rates), oxidative stress (superoxide dismutase, catalase, DNA damage, lipid peroxidation), and bnce of multi-stressor assessments to provide a better and holistic picture of physiological responses towards more realistic evaluations of climate change consequences for intertidal populations.
Although long-term exposure to higher air pollutants and lower residing greenness related to disorders of glucose homeostasis have been reported, their interaction effects on glucose homeostasis in developing countries remained unclear.

A total of 35, 482 participants were obtained from the Henan Rural Cohort (n=39, 259). Exposure to air pollutants (PM
, PM
, PM
and NO
) were predicted by using a spatiotemporal model-based on satellites data. Residing greenness was reflected by Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) which were derived from satellites data. SB-3CT cell line Independent associations of single or mixture of air pollutant or residing greenness with glucose homeostasis markers were analyzed by quantile regression models and quantile g (qg)-computation method, respectively. Furthermore, interaction effects of residing greenness and air pollution on glucose homeostasis markers were analyzed by generalized additive models.

Nevertheless, a systematic summary regarding the characteristics, sampling detection, and control technology for odor emissions from livestock farms is currently lacking. This paper compares the development of odor standards in different countries and summarizes the odor emission characteristics of livestock farms. Ammonia, the most common odor substance, can reach as high as 4100 ppm in the compost area. Sampling methods for point and area source odor emissions are introduced in this paper, and odor analysis methods are compared. Olfactometers, odorometers, and the triangle odor bag method are usually used to measure odor concentration. Odor control technologies are divided into three categories physical (activated carbon adsorption, masking, and dilution diffusion), chemical (plant extract spraying, wet scrubbing, combustion, non-thermal plasma, and photocatalytic oxidation), and biological (biofiltration, biotrickling, and bioscrubbing). Each technology is elucidated, and the performance in the removal of different pollutants is summarized. The application scopes, costs, operational stability, and secondary pollution of the technologies are compared. The generation of secondary pollution and long-term operation stability are issues that should be considered in future technological development. Lastly, a case analysis for engineering application is conducted. While the global food demand has continued to increase, the enormous natural resources required for its production are limited, in addition to the accompanying environmental degradation. Despite all these, food waste generation continues unabated, especially at the household level, further compounding the environmental impacts, economic cost, and food security issues. In this study, granular primary data of edible household food waste using direct-weighing from 218 households in Daegu, South Korea was used to assess the environmental (carbon footprint, and water footprint) and economic (wasted cost) impacts associated with their wastage. For the first time, the Environmental-Economic (EN-EC) Footprint index is proposed as a single indicator for environmental and economic impacts to assess the hotspot food waste products among the selected 42 major food waste items. This study presents that the selected food products had a significant contribution to an average edible food waste generation of 0.73 ± 0.06 kg (per household/day), 0.
