Item Upgrade Isn't As Difficult As You Think

The item upgrade feature allows players to increase the item level of equippable weapons or armor. This improves the stats and sometimes adds buffs or rerolls an affix.

It is important to remember that upgrading your magic and common gear isn't always worth it. Unique and rare equipment can quickly outperform upgraded magic and common equipment.

Cost

The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level and upgrade type chosen. For example, upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor, since weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required for upgrading increases as the item is upgraded to a higher level.

Upgraded items will also have improved stats that can improve its performance in a variety of ways. This could include increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. A upgraded item can also add additional benefits to the weapon it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to boost the overall power of a group or unit, and may have a significant impact on the gameplay.

Items can be upgraded by any NPC that is an upgrader in the game. In general these NPCs are found in major cities or questing locations. Players can also find item upgrader s in dungeons that have high-level bosses and by talking to the NPCs in their faction's garrisons.

The system of upgrading items in World of Warcraft provides players with the ability to upgrade the level of weapons, armor, and trinkets.
