20 Questions You Must Always Ask About Item Upgrader Prior To Purchasing Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a commonly used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a measure of the item's damage and quality. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of an item's level is done. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzard's real item level.

This is not the only factor that affects the value of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage, special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by adding a name.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it would have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items, the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each item level. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.

The performance of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. All items have an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
