Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also boost the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Usually objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must choose it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.
There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. item upgrade will add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant variations from earlier versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.
This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material however it will have lower chances of success.
To measure the height of a building, engineers will use an instrument to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with the highest degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important aspect of the game, and it can improve the damage, strength or other characteristics. You can do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in very rare instances.
Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more frequently than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater your chance of getting a unique bonus.
The game also comes with number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in different ways. They can be of various sizes, contain none at all, or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, including size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others are not. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own many weapons or armor pieces already.
Certain set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs that can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
