The Importance of Upgrades in World of Warcraft

Upgrades are a different kind of item that can provide an increase to your stats. They can be used to upgrade armor, trinkets and weapons.

Upgrades to your PvE equipment are account-wide. Upgrades to your PvP gear require a specific currency such as [Valorstones] and [Harbinger Crests[Harbinger Crests]. The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade other pieces of gear within an armor slot is reduced after the first upgrade on that gear.

Weapons


Weapons are an essential part of any successful character, no matter if they're used to deter an intruder, kill an intruder, win a shooting competition or simply hang on the wall. Whatever way you decide to utilize a specific weapon, it's important to be aware that it can be upgraded and change according to your style of play.

Upgrades to weapons can be made by visiting a Blacksmith who has a Weapon Workbench available. The Blacksmith Hewg, which is located in the right-hand part of the Roundtable Hold hub, is a great choice to upgrade your weapon. As a rule upgrading an item can increase its weapon's level by 5. If you attempt to upgrade your weapon while another upgrade is applied the upgrade will fail and your weapon will be returned to its original ilvl.

Upgrades do not just increase the value of an item but also provide additional stats which can be used to boost its power. Certain upgrades will be passive while others will provide more damage, faster attacks, increased range, or critical strike chances.

Some weapons can be upgraded to a higher level with an Ashes of War weapon, which is rewarded for beating certain raid bosses. Whetblades are rare items that allow you to unlock new Affinities for weapons.

Once a weapon has been fully upgraded, it will continue to receive additional upgrades for as long as the player has the proper upgrade materials and currency on to. Be aware that weapons are only able to reach the level of 25 and not higher. As a result, players should only upgrade their weapons once they've obtained the maximum amount of upgrades from regular and Whetblade items.

Trinkets

The Trinkets provide a variety of Boosts. They can be upgraded as other equipment by interacting with an Item Upgrader NPC.
