Item Upgrading: 11 Thing You've Forgotten To Do
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher tier version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.


In the final game you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced by a new item. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is extremely important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, which requires the player to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, item upgrades may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost that are listed above.
