heir management teams in developing programs and improving protocols to reduce the incidence of MDRPIs.A crucial issue restricting the application of direct alcohol fuel cells (DAFCs) is the low activity of Pt-based electrocatalysts for alcohol oxidation reaction caused by the reaction intermediate (CO*) poisoning. Herein, a new strategy is demonstrated for making a class of sub-monolayer YOx /MoOx -surface co-decorated ultrathin platinum nanowires (YOx /MoOx -Pt NWs) to effectively eliminate the CO poisoning for enhancing methanol oxidation electrocatalysis. By adjusting the amounts of YOx and MoOx decorated on the surface of ultrathin Pt NWs, the optimized 22% YOx /MoOx -Pt NWs achieve a high specific activity of 3.35 mA cm-2 and a mass activity of 2.10 A mgPt -1 , as well as the enhanced stability. In situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and CO stripping studies confirm the contribution of YOx and MoOx to anti-CO poisoning ability of the NWs. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations further reveal that the surface Y and Mo atoms with oxidation states allow COOH* to bind the surface through both the carbon and oxygen atoms, which can lower the free energy barriers for the oxidation of CO* into COOH*. The optimal NWs also show the superior activities toward the electro-oxidation of ethanol, ethylene glycol, and glycerol.
This study investigated the pregnancy and obstetric outcomes of patients with congenital uterus didelphys who achieved clinical pregnancy after in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET).

A retrospective matched cohort study of 83 infertile patients with uterus didelphys who underwent IVF-ET and achieved clinical pregnancy from January 2005 to December 2018 at our centre was conducted. For each patient in the study group, three control patients with a normal uterine morphology were randomly selected from the database in 2018. Patients in both groups were matched by number of gestational sacs, maternal age, infertility type, cause of infertility, fertilization method, endometrial thickness one day before embryo transfer and number of embryos transferred. The classification of congenital uterine anomalies was based on the American Fertility Society (AFS) system (1988). The pregnancy and obstetric outcomes of the didelphic and control groups were compared.

Regarding singleton pregnancies, the didelphired with pregnancies with a normal uterine morphology in women who underwent IVF-ET. For conceiving twins, uterus didelphys was associated with worse perinatal outcomes. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
This study introduced simulation-based education in nurse education programs in Tanzania and Madagascar and explored nursing students' experiences with this pedagogic method as a mode of learning.

Simulation-based education has barely been introduced to education programs in resource-constrained settings. The study was conducted in two nurse education programs one in rural Tanzania and the other in the mid-land of Madagascar. Both institutions offer diploma programs in nursing. Simulation-based education has not been included in the teaching methods used in these nursing programs.

A descriptive and convergent mixed method design was employed.

Ninety-nine nursing students were included in the study. Simulation sessions followed by data collection took place once in 2017 and twice in 2018. Data were collected by means of several questionnaires and six focus groups. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and qualitative content analysis. 4Phenylbutyricacid The Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQRimulation as a pedagogic method is valuable for the learning of clinical skills and preparation for clinical practice.

However, it is a challenge to fabricate stretchable and comfortable-to-wear permeable strain sensors that can provide highly accurate and continuous motion recording while exerting minimal constraints and maintaining low interference with the body. Herein, covalently grafting nanofibrous polyaniline (PANI) onto stretchable elastomer nanomeshes is reported to obtain a freestanding ultrathin (varying from 300 to 10 000 nm) strain sensor that has high gas permeability (10-33 mg h-1 ). The sensor demonstrates a low weight and can be directly laminated onto the dynamic human skin for long periods of time. The sensor, which produces an intimate connection with solid or living objects, has a stable performance with excellent sustainability, linearity, durability, and low hysteresis. It exibits excellent performance for continuous interrogation of complex movements, mimicking muscle activities, and resembling brain activity. This includes a very precise discrimination of bending and twisting stimuli at different angles (1-180°) and speeds (3-18 rpm) and very low exertion of counter-interference. These results imply the utility of this appraoch for advanced developments of robotic e-skins or e-muscles.The development of multifunctional nanoplatforms has been recognized as a promising strategy for potent photodynamic theranostics. Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) photosensitizers undergoing Type-I reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation pathway appear as potential candidates due to their capability of hypoxia-tolerance, efficient ROS production, and fluorescence imaging navigation. To further improve their performance, a facile and universal method of constructing a type of glutathione (GSH)-depleting and near-infrared (NIR)-regulated nanoplatform for dual-modal imaging-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT) is presented. The nanoplatforms are obtained through the coprecipitation process involving upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) and AIE-active photosensitizers, followed by in situ generation of MnO2 as the outer shell. The introduction of UCNPs actualizes the NIR-activation of AIE-active photosensitizers to produce ·OH as a Type-I ROS. Intracellular upregulated GSH-responsive decomposition of the MnO2 shell to Mn2+ realizes GSH-depletion, which is a distinctive approach for elevating intracellular ·OH. Meanwhile, the generated Mn2+ can implement T1 -weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in specific tumor sites, and mediate the conversion of intracellular H2 O2 to ·OH. These outputs reveal a triple-jump ·OH production, and this approach brings about distinguished performance in FLI-MRI-guided PDT with high-efficacy, which presents great potential for future clinical translations.
To explore moral distress empirically and conceptually, to understand the factors that mitigate and exacerbate moral distress and construct a model that represents how moral distress relates to its constituent parts and related concepts.

There is ongoing debate about how to understand and respond to moral distress in nursing practice.

The overarching design was feminist empirical bioethics in which feminist interpretive phenomenology provided the tools for data collection and analysis, reported following the COREQ guidelines. Using reflexive balancing, the empirical data were combined with feminist theory to produce normative recommendations about how to respond to moral distress. The Moral Distress Model presented in this paper is a culmination of the empirical data and theory.

Using feminist interpretive phenomenology, critical care nurses in the United Kingdom (n=21) were interviewed and data analysed. Reflexive Balancing was used to integrate the data with feminist theory to provide normative recommendations about how to understand moral distress.

There are five compounding factors that exacerbate/ mitigate nurses' experiences of moral distress epistemic injustice; the roster lottery; conflict between one's professional and personal responsibilities; ability to advocate and team dynamics. In addition to the causal connection and responses to moral distress, these factors make up the moral distress model which can guide approaches to mitigate moral distress.

The Moral Distress Model is the culmination of these data and theorising formulated into a construct to explain how each element interacts. We propose that this model can be used to inform the design of interventions to address moral distress.

Herein, it is demonstrated that a peptide derived from mussel foot protein-5, a key protein in mussel adhesion, displays antibacterial properties, a yet unreported activity. This cryptic function serves as inspiration for the design of a new class of peptide-based antibacterial adhesive hydrogels prepared via self-assembly, which are active against drug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria. The gels exert two mechanisms of action, surface-contact membrane disruption and oxidative killing affected by material-produced H2 O2 . Detailed studies relating amino acid composition and sequence to material mechanical adhesion/cohesion and antibacterial activity affords the MIKA2 adhesive gel, a material with a superior activity that is shown to inhibit colonization of titanium implants in mice.In Escherichia coli, PriA, PriB, PriC, and DnaT proteins mediate three pathways for Replication Restart called PriA-PriB, PriA-PriC, and PriC. PriA is crucial for two of the three pathways. Its absence leads to slow growth, high basal levels of SOS expression, poorly partitioning nucleoids, UV sensitivity, and recombination deficiency. PriA has ATPase and helicase activities and interacts with PriB, DnaT, and single-stranded DNA-binding protein (SSB). priA300 (K230R) and priA301 (C479Y) have no phenotype as single mutants, but each phenocopy a priA-null mutant combined with ∆priB. This suggested that the two priA mutations affected the helicase activity that is required for the PriA-PriC pathway. To further test this, the biochemical activities of purified PriA300 and PriA301 were examined. As expected, PriA300 lacks ATPase and helicase activities but retains the ability to interact with PriB. PriA301, however, retains significant PriB-stimulated helicase activity even though PriA301 interactions with PriB and DNA are weakened. A PriA300,301 variant retains only the ability to interact with DNA in vitro and phenocopies the priA-null phenotype in vivo. This suggests that there are two biochemically and genetically distinct PriA-PriB pathways. One uses PriB-stimulated helicase activity to free a region of ssDNA and the other uses helicase-independent remodeling activity.
