Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new attachments. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Upgrade components

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from the previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they're "leveled out."
